There are two ways to create an image with a transparent background:

1. Starting from scratch:

Within Photoshop, click File > New > In the Background Contents field, choose Transparent

You are free to design whatever elements you require (text, shapes, lines, etc) and they will appear with a transparent background.
When you're done,  Save for Web as a .png file.

2. Existing Image

Within Photoshop, select the part of the image that you want > copy and paste it into a new page in Photoshop > double click on the background to edit the name > change the opacity to 0%.

After you've done this, you should see a checkered box for the background. Click on Save for Web and make sure to save it as a .png file.
Finally, upload it to your Wix editor!

Please also make sure that the image has no skin. Click the image -> Change Style > Edit Style -> choose the first skin called No Skin Photo.

Hello, I too am having problems with transparency.... I use Corel and have never had trouble with uploading transparent png's before. Wix changes my graphics to a colored background and then it looks all blurry. I need to be able to do this as I am offering some free web & blog graphics on my site... I hope this issue is being addressed... I otherwise LOVE the ease of using Wix  :)

To fix this issue, click on the image and  then on 'Change Style' > 'Edit Style''.

Next to 'Border' click on the opacity icon and move it to zero.

hate to jump on the transparency bandwagon, but i'm having the same issues getting a .png to show up without the background. i've followed the instructions above to save the .png. it's transparent on my machine, but when i upload the .png and it pops up on my site, a white background is being added.

    help! (pretty please)
