There are two ways to create an image with a transparent background:

1. Starting from scratch:

Within Photoshop, click File > New > In the Background Contents field, choose Transparent

You are free to design whatever elements you require (text, shapes, lines, etc) and they will appear with a transparent background.

When you're done,  Save for Web as a .png file.

2. Existing Image

Within Photoshop, select the part of the image that you want > copy and paste it into a new page in Photoshop > double click on the background to edit the name > change the opacity to 0%.

After you've done this, you should see a checkered box for the background. Click on Save for Web and make sure to save it as a .png file.

Finally, upload it to your Wix editor!

Please also make sure that the image has no skin. Click the image -> Change Style > Edit Style -> choose the first skin called No Skin Photo.

      Hi,

Simply make sure to upload the image as Clip art to your editor and the transparency will work fine. Also, transparency is supported on gif and png files, preferably png.

      Best regards.

I'm an experienced Photoshop user, and I never had this issue with the flash builder, I have gone through all the steps posted (no frames, etc), but this problem isn't going away.

I save for web in Photoshop or Illustrator, as a png, with a transparent background, but as soon as I upload it to WIX the background is white.

    What am I missing?

OK - someone else mentioned this and it did work, but it's not a great solution.

I uploaded it as "Clip Art" now it's transparent, but the aspect ratio isn't fixed because the scaling settings are different for clip art, so I have to guess at the proportions.

It would be great if this could be fixed properly.

      Hi mom173,

I am unable to understand the issue here.  The instructions above are for an HTML5 site.  The site under your account is an HTML5 site.

Did you follow the instructions mentioned above?

      Hello Claire,

I'm trying to upload the screen shot but when I click on the button that says 'click here to upload a file for your computer' nothing happens. Is there a technical glitch happening with your systems at the moment?

      Thanks!

    Hi fellowsh33,

Within Photoshop, select the part of the image you want. Then copy it, and paste it into a new page within Photoshop. There, double click on the Background to edit the name, and change the opacity to 0%.

After you've done this, you should see a checkered box for the background. Then, click on 'Save for Web' and make sure to save it as a .png file.

Finally, upload it to your Wix editor!

Please also make sure that the picture has no frame. Click on the picture -> "Frames" for the right property panel -> choose "No Frame".

my image is in ong format and saved for web, I select image with no background, but it still gives me my logo with a background where it should be transparent. In every other program it is transparent except for Wix. When I upload it already then Wix gives it a white background. Please assist
