How can I let viewers upload their images?

Will visitors be able to download or print images from my Wix site?

The right click button for galleries is blocked, however visitors can right-click standalone images. The best form of protection against the downloading or printing of images from your site would be for you to watermark your images before uploading them.

Can I download an image from Wix?

It is not possible to download files uploaded through the Wix editor, you can load it on the editor and use the print screen button to capture it and edit it on a picture editing program.

    How can I lock an image to a title, that the image doesn't move place in different web browser? I have added images and when looking in different browser they move place (on the title or text...).

      Wix HTML5 websites are optimized to display properly for the most common browsers and devices used today. However, it's important to note that the various browsers and devices use different rendering engines, and therefore may display minor differences in your website.

      Sometimes these minor differences can have a domino effect- for example, a 1% difference in rendering of a font size, can cause a line with only 20 characters to appear 1/5th of a character wider. If your text box doesn't have any extra room for the text, this may cause the last word to wrap to the next line, which will make your text box longer and will 'push' the rest of the components under the page down (By the way, if you experience this issue, it's really easy to solve- you just need to make the text box a little bit wider in your editor to allow for extra space so that the text will still fit, even when it's rendered wider).

      The web standard is still evolving, and it's important to keep up with the newest technologies and standards. That's why Wix is at the forefront of HTML5 website development.
      We are doing our best to minimize the effects caused by the aforementioned factors, while continuing to provide you with the flexibility to create the most amazing website on the web.

      For the time being, however, there is a work around that should help to reduce some of the alignment issues you may be experiencing. By placing misaligned content within a ‘container’, you are securing several different items within a single shape. Items within a ‘container’ are locked into position and so will not appear to move on their own accord and/or knock other items out of alignment.

      Use a Box that is set to appear as transparent (by moving the opacity down to 0) as your ‘container’. Place all of the various components within this Box so that they are ‘attached’ to it. Once within their container, these items are essentially grouped together and will not fall out of alignment.

    hi, i had difficulty uploading image on wix editor... i just getting a long circle loading but no response to jump over on image editing and upload.

      Please make sure that the images that you're uploading are either in jpg, .png, & .gif formats and are under 10MB. If your image does meet these requirements, please click here for further troubleshooting instructions.

      Any irregular characters in your filename will be replaced to an underscore '_'.


      An example:

      If you are trying to upload a file named 'me & you.jpg', then the file will be uploaded into your Media Gallery as 'me _ you.jpg'.


       If you experience this issue, please try using another browser to upload your images.

      If you still experience this issue, please post in this thread and we will investigate it.

    Thanks for adding the "Open Expand Mode" function in Image Settings.  However, I was wondering if its possible to change the image once a user clicks on it and it expands?  See this webpage for an example of what I would like: http://www.drbrenman.com/plastic-surgery-philadelphia/testimonials/ .

    So while an image on the page only says "Thank You", once a client clicks on the image, it expands and there is a different image which the client sees in "expand mode".   How do I do that in WIX?

      Hi Dima,

      I saw the image button feature but it does not let users view the image in "Expand Mode" on click.  The image only changes to another image on that same page.  Could you please add "View in Expand Mode" on a click in the Image Button feature?  Thanks a lot.

      So, different images in default and clicked view (which already exists in image button feature), and also, an ability to show the image in "Expand Mode" when the default view image is clicked (which already exists in the normal add image feature).

    I have an issue when trying to upload images or audio... I click the upload bottom, everything freezes and Internet Explorer does not respond, I have to continually go thru the same process until finally works.

    Any advise?...Thanks!

      Trying to upload images using your editor I did not experience issues.


      When you upload files to the editor it takes more resources from your device and may cause it to slow down if it's low on memory.


      We recommend uploading the images in small bunches, and using the most updated version of your browser to do so.

    Hi, when I try to upload an image I get the error message - Storage service could not be reached? I've never had this problem before could you tell me why this has started happening all of a sudden?

      Please note that I was able to upload an image to your site. Have you tried to upload different images? It might be a problem with the specific image that you have been trying to upload. Please provide us the image you are trying to upload in order for us to assist you. 


      Also, I would recommend to clear your browser's cache.

      This error usually occurs when you are trying to upload a file that contains a character '&'. In order to be able to upload the file please remove '&' from the file name.


      If the issue persists, please let us know and we will upload this image for you.

      Unfortunately the image is cutt off as it is too big for the gallery size.

      In order to solve this issue, you have two options:


      1. You can change the image scaling to: Fit to Width.



      Or, you can resize the images to a smaller size and then upload the images again to the editor.


      When adding images to a gallery, please try to load images in the exact size as they will appear in the gallery.

      To check the gallery size, please click on the gallery -> from the drop down menu click on settings -> scroll to the bottom of the settings window and check the size of W and H:

    If you have a look at my website, under fashion, I have deleted a few images and reloaded the rest.The top section(head) of the model has been cut off.How do I realign the image???

    It seems that more people are having the same problem.
    What did I do to fix this?

    Perhaps this can help:
    1) Uninstall Chrome browser
    2) Uninstall Adobe Flash / Shockwave player
    3) clean windows registry
    4) reboot computer

    5) Install Chrome again
    6) Install the latest Flash player from Adobe

    I hope it works ;-)

      I have noticed you are using a prior version of Safari.

    I am in the process to build my web side using WIX. So far, your software worked the best for me and I will futher on build on it if possible. Recent problems: I used my own images and I could implement them on my pages. But, during the last sessions I could not implement any more images; I uploaded them, but the next stepp to get them onto my page didn't work any more. What is the reason? Do I have to upgrade the account due to gig storage shortage? No response was provided by your software.
