Is there a way you can organise a gallery that allows other people to contribute photos?

Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment.

You can add our 123 Contact Form, which enable you to receive file uploads within forms. You can find information and instructions about our 123ContactForm app here.
You can also create an email link and ask your site visitors to email you their files.

Another option is to add our Community Forum app to your site. It will let your users collaborate on ideas, share photos, files and much more.

You can find information here or check out the video below.

Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Hi, I just have a suggestion. It would be great if images could be repositioned inside the slide show, not just cropped or fitted to the size of the box. To be able to reposition it (move it around) to exactly the right place where you want the image to be within the image box, for example like you can do on Instagram before cropping, or on facebook with the cover and profile picture.

I know it is something that you must program and it might not be the easiest thing to do, but it would be very cool!

I checked your site and it looks great, the gallery worked as it should be.

I'm not sure I fully understand your problem, can you please elaborate? You can also add a screenshot of the problem. You can find "How tp screenshot" instructions here .

Thank you for your cooperation, we're waiting for your reply.

Hi Tal.. I figured it out... when I do the "strip" using your original photo's it works fine... then I resize to one column and and 6 in a row... previewed animation.. and it still worked fine... then, I added my pictures .. and it did not work..

This is what the problem was... I made the column to 1.. with 6 pictures in that row. ..and changed to my "6" pictures..... I needed to add more pictures.. as soon as I added more than 6.. it allowed for the "shuffle".. and the animation started working fine...

      Thank you!!

For some reason the pictures on my site aren't showing properly in the preview window. All of them are being cut off at the top and bottom. It's especially bad for portrait images, some of which have been rotated to landscape. This is pretty bad for me as most of my stuff is photography. I don't suppose you would know how to sort this out?

    Dear Wix

I have selected the "thumbnails" feature of the Image Gallery of which I have successfully uploaded my images. When I go entirely out of the website and then go back into that page.  The thumbnails image appear on the bottom of the page as it should, however  but the big image appears as thumbnail also. What am I doing wrong?

    Kind regards

I have put in a gallery of images to my page and I have linked the image to another page inside my site. Yet when I view in my browser live and click on the image in the gallery I am not redirected to the linked page. This is very drustrating how can I get the images in my gallery to actually go to it's individuals image linked page?

I've just created a website with a photo gallery

it is published at http://cjsinclair.wix.com/murraydownie  while it is being developed...

On the gallery - i want it to show the names of each person - as you can see here on http://cjsinclair.wix.com/murraydownie#!2011-2012/cdk6  BUT am having three minor issues...

1 - the names are TOO far away from the photo - can they be located DIRECTLY under the image - rather than have that much a spacing?

2 - Are the names under each photo able to be centred??

3 -  Is there a way to upload the images and have the names display with automatic removal of the .jpg prefix - as that would save me a significant amount of time.

I look forward to your responses

    Many Thanks

Unfortunately, the answer for questions one and two is no, these fields cannot be altered at the moment.

Regarding your last question, click on the images in question > settings > delete the .jpg from the image name.

Let us know how it went and if you require further assistance.

Thank you - Are there any alternative galleries that you recommend that could enable me to centre the names and have them closer to their relevant photos? (I've had a look and no - but you may have one in mind??)

The .jpg thing works - thank you :)

Simply follow the steps provided here:

      1. Click the gallery to select it.
      2. From the gallery settings window, click Organize Photos.
      3. From the left of the Organize Photos window, click an image.
      4. From the right of the Organize Photos window, under Title and Description, type a title and description for your image.
      5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for all of your images.
      6. From the Organize Photos window, click OK.
      7. Click outside of the gallery to close the Gallery Settings window.

Please note that the title that you add to your images in your gallery will be used as the alt tag for the images.

    Hi there.

I saw the new masonry gallery feature. I was wondering if i could create a gallery inside a single picture.

For instance: One picture refers on an event. User when clicks on it will show him more pictures for the specific event. I like the layout of the gallery and i would very like to see this feature.

Also will be there available a description for slider galleries?

I have some photos (http://www.blaxosxr.gr/#!press/cizz ) that i would like to have a description.

Sorry I am not sure that I understand what you are trying to achieve with the one image gallery.

With regards to your question for the slider gallery, if you go to the gallery organize images, then you will be able to add text there.

I want to create a gallery inside another one. Clicking on one picture of the masonry gallery will "link to" pictures that are not included to tha masonry gallery.

As for the slider gallery, i already have a title and a description for each image but they are not visible from a user

The way to do that is simple use the image link field inside each image.

For example: I set sub galleries in pages called "red", "blue and "green".

I set a main page with the masonry gallery, click on organize images, and then set a link to a page for each sub gallery. One image for "red", one for "blue" etc.

Please don't hesitate to contact us again. Nat

hi there again. I just saw that you added a new gallery feature (tumbnail). I think that tumbnail gallery fits my needs but unfortunately you can't enter in expand mode. Is it possible to add the this ability?

    • Hudson Wix Team

Replied by Hudson October 9, 2013

when you add the gallery and its on your site, the user clicks on the thumb nail image and it will then expand, you can chose the size of the expanded image in the settings on the thumbnail in the enter.
