Currently having issues uploading files that are .jpg. This is the error message:

cannot be uploaded since the file-name is invalid

The name of the file is z (1).jpg

This is the same naming system I have been using for my files since I started using wix and have never had any issues. I uploaded pictures as recently as this last Sunday with no problems (they were named a (1).jpg for example).

    Please advise.

      Hi,

Please try renaming the file without the brackets () and upload it.

      Best regards

      1) I have attempted to upload files without the () with the same error message.

      2) I have used the same naming system for two years with no issue, why should there be one now?

      3) To rename every file without the () I would have to do so one at a time instead of using the mass renaming feature on my computer. I do not have time for that even if that WOULD fix the problem.

      4) Since the () are not the issue (file named a.jpg also will not upload), please advise.

    Hi there,

I am trying to upload my MP3 files for the users to download instead of hearing them only.

I clicked add -Media - Audio player, then I went to preview and right clicked to see if i could have the Save as option to download an MP3 and it doesnt let me do it!

I also try and connect a link to a document but it doesnt let me upload it as it isnt a doc,ppt or PDF file!

    Can you help me?

    Thanks,

    Paulo

      Hey Paulo,

      Thanks for contacting Wix support.

Currently it isn't possible to add a "download" button.
You can only upload downloadable files as PDF and Word. For more information about uploading a document click here and scroll down to the "Linking your Button to a Document" part.

You can also try our HTML app to insert your own download button.

If you would like to sell your music online, you can use the Getonic App. I recommend that you keep checking the App market since we add new apps all the time and you might find one that may suit your needs.

Please don't hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

      Hi Paolo,

You can upload your files to an external host/server and then add them using the HTML App. Please note that since you will be using external code, which was not created, not tested by Wix, we will not be able to provide you support for the code itself.

      Thanks

I am trying to delete some PDF files that are not needed anymore.  How can I do that?  I'm also getting an error while trying to upload a simple PDF file.  It is telling me "Error Uploading File - File contains invalid characters."  Can someone help me with this?

      Hi,

In most cases, upload issues are related to a local misconfiguration of certain settings on your computer, or to your internet connection.

Please follow these steps in order to troubleshoot the issue you're experiencing:

      1. Try uploading other images. Is this issue isolated to specific images? If so, please email us the problematic images.
      2. Make sure the file name does not contain any special characters.
      3. Clear your browser's cache of "Everything".
      4. Log out of your Wix account, restart your browser and then log into your Wix account and try again.
      5. Try using other browsers to open Wix. Recommended browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and either IE or Safari (depending on whether you use a PC or a MAC).
      6. If you connect to the internet through a router, please try connecting directly through the modem.
      7. Try temporarily disabling your internet security programs and try again (i.e. antivirus, firewall, etc.). It is preferable to try this while still connected to the modem directly. This is meant to assist us in determining the source of the problem that you're facing.
      8. Try connecting to Wix from a different computer that uses a different internet connection.

Finally, if you are still having issues, please contact us. Let us know exactly which steps you tried and what worked or didn't work. Please also include the following information:

      1. What Operating System you're using (i.e. Mac OSX, Windows XP, etc.) - and what version it is.
      2. What browsers you've tried - and include the version of the browser (can generally be found by going to Help > About within the browser).
      3. What version of Flash you have installed on your computer- you can find this at whatismyflash.com
      4. Your Wix username and the name of the site(s) with the issue.
      5. If you receive an error message, please attach the error message that you receive.
      6. Your geographic location and which ISP you use.
      7. Which internet security programs you have installed on your computer (antivirus, firewall, etc.).

      Thanks

      Hi,

Try moving your image to a different location, and make sure that the path of the file (Meaning the names of your folders) contain only Latin characters (Including the file name).

You can also copy your picture to your hard drive's folder (i.e C:\) and try again.
