Can one button be used for more than one document? There are two pages in pdf format that I want to have on the same button.

Unfortunately not - however you can embed both PDF pages in the same page using the HTML App.

You can also merge these two PDF files to one and link to it.

With the HTML App you can test and add your own HTML code to your Wix site.

For more information check out the tutorial below, or you can click here.

*Take a minute to read through the Known Issues & Limitations of the HTML iFrame/Embed App via the link above before using this.

I am not able to link a document.  I highlight the text, click on link, go to documents and double click the empty space.  The only thing that happens is that the selected text disappears.  Read the directions and even looked at the video.

To which site in your account are you trying to link a document? If it is a Flash site then the flow is different than explained in this thread/video.

I checked your site but I wasn't able to recreate the problem. When clicking on the white space, a pop up window appeared with the Document Gallery.

If you are still experiencing this problem, try the following:

      1) Try another browser such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9 and Mozilla Firefox.
      2) Try another computer and different internet network connections.
Please let us know if you were able to recreate the problem when trying the suggestions above (In regards to browsers, please include the version of browser you tested.)

I decided not to follow the steps from above

      3. Double click the empty field under "Add/Change Document"

Instead, I just clicked once and it appeared...

Maybe you might want to change the directions, double click deletes the highlighted text you are trying to add a link to.

Currently you can upload these files in the HTML editor:
Images:  .gif, .png & .jpg via "Add" -> "Image" -> "Change Image" -> "Upload Image".
Video: via Youtube or Vimeo -  "Add" -> "Media" -> "Video"
Docs: doc & .docx, .xls & .xlsx, .ppt & .pptx, .odt, .pdf and .odf .

      Best regards

I follow the exact instructions on the video. I uploaded my PDF and try to link the document to my text. All of the steps go fine but the document never actually links to my page. If I go to preview my site I can't click  on anything to download the document as if I never linked it at all. Please Help!

      Hi awhassett,

Please make sure your .PDF file is 10MB or less.

If this is the case and you are still unable to upload it to your site, please send us the file in  a forum message. You can use the Upload button:

Please also let us know where on your site you are trying to add the file.

Is there a way to upload documents not requiring viewers to download?

Could you please be more specific with your question - what do you mean by not requiring viewers to download?

    • mattoberski

      Thanks for the speedy reply!

I've used Wordpress and there are certain documents that must be linked to and then downloaded by whomever the viewer of your site is, but many can simply be put directly into it.

For example, can I attach a PDF that viewers will simply be able to view rather than having to click and download something? Or even a scribd resume?

      Thanks again!

    • Yoav Wix Team

Replied by Yoav April 3, 2013

Have you tried linking directly to the page?

Usually you should have a "share link" - a link to send out to people you want to share the document with, you can use it without the need to upload the document to your site (and thus - viewers won't need to download them).

      Does this solve your question?

    • mattoberski

      Where is the 'share link'?

      Thank you!

Replied by Yoav April 3, 2013

It depends on the service you're using (where the document is located).

In Wordpress, for example, you'll get the share link when sharing a post by mail, twitter etc. - it will be included in the message.

Take this URL and place it as a link destination.

Let us know if this solves your issue!

hi. I have uploaded some new PDF documents to replace the old ones. however, after saving and publishing several times the old document PDF's keep coming up. How can I get my edited/new documents to show up?

      Hi lydiapowercourses,

While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

If the problem persists, please try removing the component you linked to the original files and add it again and link the new PDFs.

If the problem persists please let us know.

I have uploaded a document, but then I needed to change it.  I uploaded it again and it created a new document.  Is it possible to overwrite the old document or delete the old document?  I can't seem to figure out how to do either of them.  Thank you!

Replied by Anat March 22, 2013

      Hi drklug,

If you do not want the old document to be linked to the button\text on your site you can simply override it with a new document or delete the button and add a new one with the new link.

If you need our assistance doing this, please point us to the exact location of the document you wish to remove and add a screenshot if possible and we will remove it for you.

For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

Thank you and we await your reply

I'm sorry, I still don't see how to delete or overwrite. Using the delete key on my keyboard does not delete it and I do not see a delete button. Just an upload button.  Please let me know the steps to delete it.  I tried overwriting by clicking on the old document and uploading, but it created a new document. Thanks!
