I have other files I want to upload and allow the public to download from my website. It is not a pdf, doc, docx, etc

I am paying for premium service and would like to know how to achieve this. Isn't WIX now my server and how should it matter what files I store on it?

Hi ka475, I have checked your website and its looking great!

Please note that although our editor allows only those specific file types, you can upload any file using one of the following apps - "AnyFile", "Google Drive Share Tool", "Dropbox Folder" or any other app you choose from the app market.

The Wix App Market is available from within the Wix Editor. In the Wix App Market, you will find a variety of apps that you can add to your site that were created by third-party companies and individuals.

The Wix App Market is split up into several categories; an app may appear in more than one category. Clicking on an app will open a pop-up with more information about the app which may include an overview, a live demo and an overview of the app's features as well as information about the Premium version of the app, if one exists. These apps add new features, options and functionality to your Wix site! You can easily add these third-party apps to your site.

Click on the image below to browse through all of the apps in the Wix Apps Market:

Click here for more information about the Wix App Market.

      Thanks.

      Hi,

In most cases, upload issues are related to a local misconfiguration of certain settings on your computer, or to your internet connection.

Please follow these steps in order to troubleshoot the issue you're experiencing:

      1. Try uploading other documents. Is this issue isolated to specific documents? If so, please email us the problematic documents.
      2. Make sure the file name does not contain any special characters.
      3. Clear your browser's cache of "Everything".
      4. Log out of your Wix account, restart your browser and then log into your Wix account and try again.
      5. Try using other browsers to open Wix. Recommended browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and either IE or Safari (depending on whether you use a PC or a MAC).
      6. If you connect to the internet through a router, please try connecting directly through the modem.
      7. Try temporarily disabling your internet security programs and try again (i.e. antivirus, firewall, etc.). It is preferable to try this while still connected to the modem directly. This is meant to assist us in determining the source of the problem that you're facing.
      8. Try connecting to Wix from a different computer that uses a different internet connection.

Finally, if you are still having issues, please contact us. Let us know exactly which steps you tried and what worked or didn't work. Please also include the following information:

      1. What Operating System you're using (i.e. Mac OSX, Windows XP, etc.) - and what version it is.
      2. What browsers you've tried - and include the version of the browser (can generally be found by going to Help > About within the browser).
      3. What version of Flash you have installed on your computer- you can find this at whatismyflash.com
      4. Your Wix username and the name of the site(s) with the issue.
      5. If you receive an error message, please attach the error message that you receive.
      6. Your geographic location and which ISP you use.
      7. Which internet security programs you have installed on your computer (antivirus, firewall, etc.).

      Hey,

Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment. You can also add documents to the site through SimpleBooklet, Dropbox or Google Drive from the App Market.

We document and learn from every feature request and bug brought to our attention. These objectives are immediately high priority milestones in Wix's product road map.

Feel free to add your feature request to our Wish List by posting here.

You can keep up to date with what features are coming soon here.

      Sincerely, Leah Wix Team

      Hi jrrand,

      Thanks for contacting Wix support!

Please note that in HTML websites PDF files open in the visitor's computer in a new window. It's not possible to have them open within the Wix page.

They don't need to open within the Wix page but just open for display. Rather than a separate download. I'll be switching to a wordpress template which has that feature. Thanks!

Have been uploading and linking documents to buttons for some time but today getting error message and can't link documents to anything [text, image or button]. Getting "Oops Wix is down" message.

Have disabled pepper flash, restarted computer but no change. Work in Chrome on Windows 8 and never had a problem until now. Require consistent document download on my site. Please advise of known problems.
