A footer is the area of your website that appears across the bottom of your site and appears throughout all of your pages. The footer may contain your contact information, copyright information or your social media icons.

Note: It is not possible to remove the footer from your site, although you can make it transparent. You can vote for this feature, and find out more information, in this FAQ.

    Hello!

I'm for the first time here. I faced the problem that I couldn't control the footer. Information from the footer isn't displayed correct - On the front page is everything ok; but on the other -  the woords are skipping... I don't understand how to lock all information in the footer - at the bottom of the page.

    Thank you!

Thank you for your prompt reply!

Wix say - The Footer adjusts to the length of your site, so every time you add more content to the page, it will move down to make room for the new component added.

But smth goes wrong. I'll send you 3 screen shot (examples).

All needed information is in the footer. When I click preview - front page is displayed correct, but when I go the other pages my footer goes up. It isn't  fixed at the bottom of the page.

      Thank you!

      Hi elmusina,

      Thank you for contacting us.

The problem was that your footer was placed in higher position.

Simply drag it down and place it wherever you'd like, like so-

I cleared the cache and even tried a different browser and there's still a space above the header on the Contact page.

I'm also now having trouble editing in a way I've never experienced before. For example, I wanted to add a border to the footer, and when I open the box to change footer styles, I can't scroll down far enough to change the width of the footer. The bar just won't move in the change styles box. Can you please help with that, too?

      Thanks!

      Hi,

I have visited your site and noticed you have a problem with your site's structure. You placed most of your site's content between the Header area and the Page area. This causes lots of problems within your site's design.

The trouble I'm still having is with the footer meeting the page. On my site j-g2, the pages About Us, and Rabbi Bridget's High Holiday Talks, there is space between the footer and page that I can't close.

I'm using a template that has space between the page and the header, so am following its pattern. It's the Educational Toys template. Now that my site is almost done, what can I do to prevent these problems? I don't want to start all over using a different template. If there's a way to change the site so there's no space between the header and the page on each page that would be fine with me. I didn't choose it for that reason, and didn't know it would cause a problem.

      Thanks!

Hello, all of the sudden I am having the same problen with a large blank area between my page and the foter.  I followed the instructions to cycle through the elements and I can't find what may be blocking the footer.  Also, it is odd but when going through the elements a couple of strange images would show as being there but I couldn't locate them until I change the x & y axis to 0.  It is mostly the stock image of the phone.. how that got added I haven't a clue!...and I can delete it but then it keeps reappearing!  my site is www.abacusfarms.com and I would LOVE some assistance, I have been trying to fic this for over an hout now.

      Hi,

I have checked your site and I was able to recreate the issue.

It appears that you have an HTML app which is blocking the footer from moving up and causes the large blank area.

After moving the HTML app upwards, I was able to solve this issue.

When you have a problem with hidden elements such as this one, you can use CTRL+M in order to check all the elements on your page.

Feel free to contact us for any further assistance.

    Hi wix team!
Having problems with the site I just published specifically the layout. Seems to be a similar problem in this topic thread. As per the images I've attached, there is a large open gap between the main body and the footer at the bottom which appears only on the home page. The first pic is how it should look, the second pic is how it does look. I noticed the problem occurs only when first opening the page. If you navigate to a different page on the site and then back to the home page the problem resolves itself and it reverts to the correct layout. I tried to open the editor to see if it was something I could fix but it's the exact same problem. This has only happened since the site was published. Please fix!! Thanks

    Hi there,

I am also having the same issue with too much empty space above the footer.  I have tried the CTRL M option to look for hidden elements but nothing is coming home.  I don't think this is due to the template I've chosen as I was able to adjust it before for some reason it's not allowing me too.   It seems like on some of the pages it is a shorter page length, is it possible to move all the work I've done to a similar page length so as to not to have to start all over?  Please help, as I've tried everything.  Thank you!!

I have the same problem with the footer and extra space under the copyright sign and webmaster login. I adjusted my homepage photo and it got all messed up and now I cannot fix it back to its previous state since I never marked it as fixed positioned footer and I tried everything with the ctrl + M but no hidden elements were found. The gridline right above the footer is not adjustable so I have all this extra space under the actual footer I cannot remove. Please help me fix my footer and remove the extra space because I need to publish my website soon. I have tried everything... I am willing to give you my username and password so it can be fixed quick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi sineokatabg,

I have checked your site and unfortunately, there is no way to get rid of the extra space on your home page as it is the size of the template used.

Notice that the space is minimal on the gallery page of your site.

I would suggest that you add or make the current content on the "pages" section larger.

HI the Footer on my page will not display. my page design does not use the footers functions however I but i was using it as a set point for vertical scrolling. since I cannot  adjust the size, so there is a large lower section of blank unused space when the page is scrolled vertically     ..If I click in the lower blank section of the footer it will not display its menu it will only select image elements on the page

      Hey,

Because your footer is very small it was very hard to locate.

I can see you have a lot of empty space at the bottom of each of your pages, You can pull your footer upwards and the empty space will disappear and the footer will adjust itself to the page length.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any further questions.

      Hi Inga,

Thank you for contacting the Wix support team.

The excess space or gap between your footer and page content might be caused by a hidden element.

To access this element: In the Wix Editor, select any element on your site and hold down the "Ctrl" key and press "M" to toggle through the elements on your page until the element is selected. Once you have selected this element, you can either delete it or move it upward.

Only once the element has been moved or deleted, can the footer can be adjusted to remove the gap.

Please let us know should you require further assistance

      Many thanks, Barrios

      Hi Barrios,

Thank you for replying. I tried Ctrl + M on all my pages and still do not see any hidden elements to remove. I also noticed that as I tried to drag some of the elements in the body down, at a certain point, I get a dotted line that moves everything below it down with it (including the footer). Is it possible for someone from Wix to log into my site and try to help me correct this gap?

I can't seem to figure it out on my own and am extremely eager to publish the site today.

Thank you so much for your help,
