One of the cool new features in the Wix HTML editor is that the height of the pages in your website is not a predetermined size.

Your pages will adjust their height dynamically according to the content that you add to them. If you add more text or components, your pages will become longer in order to accommodate anything that you add. Simply drag the bottom-most component in your page downwards in order to extend the height of that page.  To shorten your page, click the element on the page that is too long and, at the bottom of the selected element, you will see an icon with an arrow on it called the Stretch Handle. This allows you to shorten or lengthen your page manually. Simply click and drag it up or down to change the length of your element and the page.

Currently, the width of your site is fixed at 980px. This size was chosen in order to accommodate the largest number of internet users that will be visiting your site. This is common for the new generation of sites, as it ensures compatibility with the many different smart devices being used today (i.e. iPad users) where you only scroll up or down.

I can't get the Stretch Handle to re-size my header and there doesn't appear to be anything hiding it.

      Hey,

You can use the Stretch Handle to re-size your header. Please note that you need to drag the menu, the image and the text boxes to the top of the page so they will not block the bottom of the header. Then, you will be able to re-size it:

Please let us know should you require any further assistance.

Hi I would like to know how to set up a picture in header so it goes always to the end of the site. Means it has to be possible to tile.

+is there any possibility that footer will stay at the end of the page without any white space between it and the actual end of the page? now it's kind of floating over the end and if I use color on it it doesn't look nice

    thank you

between my header and footer I have a "main content" area...this area should NOT be fixed at a minimum of 500 height... I would prefer it to be much shorter so there isnt so much empty open space.

Part of Wix's "new and improved HTML editor" made the claim that its adjustable and that its dependent on the content...  on less content populated pages, its extremely unprofessional looking to have such a huge gap between content and the footer.

    How can I change/customize this?

      thanks for your response.

The one Im building (its not launched).

ON the index page, there is a slide show gallery, however on subsequent pages the content frames are blank (for the exception of a few wix inserted filler text); here I plan to use simple photo + text content

There is no automatic way of doing this, you need to add a component to your web site and drag it down, this is how the site becomes longer. Fine-tune this to reach your ideal site length.

      Hello,

I am not entirely sure what the issue is just by looking at the screenshot, however i can see that most of your content is outside the grid lines which is likely to cause issues.

Gridlines appear inside your editor to help you build your site's layout. Currently your site is fixed at 980px in order to accommodate the largest number of internet users that will be visiting your site. You will want to place all of your site's content inside the Gridlines to ensure its compatibility across different browsers and devices.

Checkout the video below to learn more about our Gridlines feature that will help you with your site's layout.

The gridlines do not appear on your live site - they are there as a guide that can help you map and design your site better. To remove the gridlines, simply click on the gridlines icon from the top menu.

Please replaces the slideshow placed on your home page and make sure it is attached to the page part of your site. Move other items accordingly.

Please make sure items that should appear only on the home page do not have the checkbox next to 'Show on all pages' checked.

After making these change please republish your site and clear our browsers cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

      Hi,

I can see that in your editor, many of your components are half inside your header and half in your main page.

Such design may cause conflict on your site (such as the one issue with your footer) and we highly recommend that you either put your elements in your header or on your main page and not overlaying both.

A header is the area of your website that appears across the top of your site and appears throughout all of your pages.
The header may contain your site title, company logo and your site menu.

Please note: it isn't possible to delete the header from your site.

For more information about organizing your pages, click here or check out the interactive site (simply click on the image below)

Please sort this out and let us know if the issues persist.

      Hi,

Your site content is not attached to your ' Page  ' area.

You will be able to see it as the ' page ' border line appears in the meddle of the page:

This line should be attached to the button of the hear.

In order to solve this issue please follow the steps:

      1. Please drag and drop all the content which you want to place on your page under the page border line for example:

You will see the content is attached to the page, when the page icon will appear.

      For example:

      2. Once your content will be placed within the page, you will see a big gap under the Header.

To resize the gap, please click on the page-> from the drop down menu click on Settings -> change the Y to zero

      Before:

      After:

      Hey  tclifecoach ,

I checked your site via editor and on your home page I can see the text box placed there is very long and it is blocking the footer:

Please resize the text box and then you will be able to drag the footer upwards.

As for the second page on your site, I removed an empty text box that was blocking the footer and saved your site.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with (:
