One of the cool new features in the Wix HTML editor is that the height of the pages in your website is not a predetermined size.

Your pages will adjust their height dynamically according to the content that you add to them. If you add more text or components, your pages will become longer in order to accommodate anything that you add. Simply drag the bottom-most component in your page downwards in order to extend the height of that page.  To shorten your page, click the element on the page that is too long and, at the bottom of the selected element, you will see an icon with an arrow on it called the Stretch Handle. This allows you to shorten or lengthen your page manually. Simply click and drag it up or down to change the length of your element and the page.

Currently, the width of your site is fixed at 980px. This size was chosen in order to accommodate the largest number of internet users that will be visiting your site. This is common for the new generation of sites, as it ensures compatibility with the many different smart devices being used today (i.e. iPad users) where you only scroll up or down.

The site's width is set to 980 px. This means it isn't possible to stretch it to the right.

Your site's length will though change according to the content on the page.

    Hey Elia -

I see grid lines at the top, bottom, and left.... how do I know my limit to the right?  And does everything on my page need to be within the "box" that the gridlines create?

Your site's header, 'pages' object  and footer all are set to 980 px wide.

to view grid lines,  click on the 'Grid-line' button in the floating Wix panel.

Hey there - you keep writing that the Wix HTML site "set" width is 980 px.  That's cool, but I have NO IDEA how to stay within that boundary?  Is there something in the editor that shows the exact width (so that I don't surpass it)?  Right now, I've completed my HTML site, but when I view it on different computers, or my iPad, the size is ENORMOUS, and I end up losing the left & right sides of my site's pages.  Thanks,

simply drag the footer located on the bottom of your website up, this will shorten your website.

I am having the same problem. I have made my pages all a certain size, and then there is a huge amount of blank space to scroll down to at the bottom. All ive read here is that you cannot make the website smaller. I also have a header and a footer image that I want it to go completely to the edge on the left and right hand sides, but it will only go a certain distance, and it looks kinda bad the way the image just ends.

Is it possible to increase the HTML content boundaries over 1500x1500px, I am trying to add HD size animation on the site which is 1920x400px and currently I have to crop it due the width limitations. It would be great to have more wider html area, thanks.

Ron, I worked within the frame (yellow dotted line) and once published my site appeared much bigger on the screen and I have to scroll down which I would not like my visitors to do. Why does this happen and how can I fix it without having to move everything on the site I just built?
