To add elements to the header, drag and drop the element onto the header. The Show on all pages box will be checked automatically.

To add elements to the footer, click and drag the element to the bottom of the page, click the blue Move to Footer button that appears. The element will appear in the footer of all pages.

    Hi,

I want to delete an app box I managed to upload as i wanted to add a countdown timer thru a html link - but now i cant either edit the box to put the information in it OR delete it - which is what Id prefer to actually do please.

Also, even after i publish the site it still prompts me to "do you want to leave this page" when im closing the browser - is that supposed to happen.

    Much Appreciated!
    Krystie

    Hi,

Wondering if you could help? I have a image in my header and I want my call to action to on top of that image. Is this possible?

    Thanks

      Hi niallsinclair,

You can put any element in the header, and above the image. However, this will require you to make sure that the element you would like to add to the header is set to show on all pages. To do so, click on the element > click on Settings from the pop up menu > check the box next to 'Show on all pages'.

I am unsure if you would like to place  the element above the image or on the image itself. If you'd like to place the element above the image, you will need to drag the footer down with the stretch handle first.
If you would like to simply place the element above the image, just drag it into the header.

If you need further instruction, please let us know exactly which element you are referring to so that we can assist you further.

      Thanks,

      Jo

My product logo (Power Pumper) is above the header bar when in edit mode but appears behind the header bar when I preview the site. How do I fix this?

You are currently setting your Header to "Fixed Position",
therefore, Header shows at the fixed place of a page all the time.

Please uncheck the box next to "Fixed Position",
      that should solve your issue.

      Thank you.

Well I found a work around by deleting the old logo and adding a new image. Why did this happen so that I may avoid it in the future?

      Hello,

Glad to hear you were able to resolve it. I am not sure why exactly it happened, and it would be hard to check since I can no longer look into it now that you have fixed it, but I assume it was a layering issue. Feel free to contact us again if anything else comes up.

I am trying to add a footer element on my website that links to other hidden pages on the website (such as terms of use, privacy policy etc) which I didn't want to put at the top.

When I add a text element, I can put it in the footer, but I can't link it to any pages.

When I add the menu element, I just get exactly the same menu option as the top bar which I don't want at all.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

You can do this by adding a button to your footer from the Buttons & Menus section of the Add list and link it to an external site, a page from your site, a document or an email address.

      To add a button:

      1. From the left in the Editor, click the Add icon.
      2. From the Add list, click Buttons & Menus. Click one of the button options.
      3. From the Button Settings window, under Button Text, type a name for your button.
      4. Under Link to, click the field.
      5. From the Link Settings window that opens, click your Link type: Web Address, Page, Email or Document and add your link.
      6. From the Link Settings window, click Done.
      7. Click outside of the button to close the Button Settings window.

A button is added to your site.

Note: To return to Add , click Back to Add from the top of the window. To close Add, click X from the top right.

For more information about buttons click here.

To add elements to the header, drag and drop the element onto the header. The Show on all pages box will be checked automatically.

To add elements to the footer, click on the element to open its  Settings  and check the box at the bottom next to  Show on all pages , then drag and drop the element onto the footer.

    Hello

My website is www.londonschoolmaze.com and I would like to add text to the footer and lift the footer higher up as there is a huge blank space between the text and the footer on each page. I have read on this page that it should be possible to drag and drop text on a footer but this does not seem possible for me.

I do not want the footer to be at the same place on each page.

Could you please offer some guidance on this ?

    Many thanks

    Coralie

      Hi,

      Thanks for contacting Wix support.

It seems the following text element is keeping your footer from being dragged upwards:

I have resized the element so it won't extend beyond your page frame limit (the dotted line), and then was I able to drap your footer up. Unfortunately, the footer position will be identical on each of your pages.

Please note, to drag any element into your footer you need to click on the element and check "show on all pages". Only then can you drag the element into the footer.

      I hope this was helpful,

      - Daniel M, Wix team.
