To add elements to the header, drag and drop the element onto the header. The Show on all pages box will be checked automatically.

To add elements to the footer, click and drag the element to the bottom of the page, click the blue Move to Footer button that appears. The element will appear in the footer of all pages.

Try inserting a Gallery > Strip Slideshow and then move it to the header and send it to the back. You can eliminate the text and just have one image in the gallery. Hope this helps.

I want to use an image in the header and I want it to stretch 100% across screen.  I know I can manually stretch the image but it would seem I am limited to the width of the screen I am creating the website on.  If I view the website on a wider screen, there  would be white spaces on each side of the header.

    Any ideas?

Thanks for contacting us. You may add a 'strip' to your site, Add tab > Shapes and lines > Strip, and drag it into the header. Click the strip > change image > and you'll be able to have an image displaying.

Let us know should you require any further assistance,

To change the font of your menu simply click on your menu -> "Settings" -> Change Style -> Edit Style -> change "Font Style".

Your font scheme determines the font types, font sizes and font colors of the different areas of your site including your major headings, minor headings, body text and much more. For more information click here.

You need to select (click on) the element that you want in the footer. In the menu that appears you will see a list of options. The last option says "Show on all pages". Check the box and then the element can be dragged into the footer area. Hope this helps!

After checking the forums and watching the videos, I am still unable to add an element to the footer.  The help suggestion is to ensure that "show on all pages" is selected so that the footer doesn't keep "pushing" down the page as you try to drop an element into it.  I don't have that option on the footer..  I only have a "fixed position" option.  In the settings tab, it tells me that items in the footer will show on all pages (by default).  Please help!  Been trying for hours to add to my footer, but it simply will not highlight "attach to footer" like it does in the header..  just keeps moving down the page.

      Hi Nick,

I checked your Editor, however, I wasn't able to recreate the issue.

Please make sure to select the option in the element on your page (not in the footer) 'show on all pages' and then drag and drop it into the footer.

If you still can't see the 'show on all pages' lease provide us with a screen shot of the problem. For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

I would like to change the "More" tab on my header. I want it to be my "Shopping Cart".

Currently, my "Shopping Cart" is buried within the "More" tab. It's kind of confusing and hard for someone to quickly get to the almighty cart. I feel by replacing the "More" with my "Cart" it will make life a lot simpler and less confusing.

In order to make the tab: ' Shop & cart ' visible, you will need to stretch the menu .

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties. Please note that you can click on a random element on your page (box, image, text) and use the CTRL + M keyboard shortcut (multiple times) to navigate through all the elements until you find the text box.

Then click the Bring forward icon from the pop-up until the element is on top of all of the other elements. You should then be able to move, edit or delete the element.

Alternately, if you cannot click the element, click on the element that is on top of the element you are trying to access and click the  Send backward icon to send that element behind the element that you are trying to access.

If the issue persists - please provide us with a screen shot of the problem. For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

You can add a photo to the header and stretch it according to the size of header. To add more elements on top of the photo, drag and drop the element onto the header. The Show on all pages box will be checked automatically.

Please note that to place text on top of the photo, you need to select the photo and click the "Bring forward" icon.

Tip: Clicking on Ctrl + M inside your editor switches between elements and thus allows to easily locate objects that are in the back and move them.

      Best regards, WIX Team.

      Hi sharontaylor263,

In order to place your menu in the footer, you will need to make sure that the "Show on all pages" check box is checked in the element's settings. Once this has been checked, you'll be able to drag the menu to the footer.

For more information, please see the Best Reply above. If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

I have tried to write the name of my web site and I just cannot do it. I've watched the videos and it's not helping. The other problem is that now I lost the bar for about us, contact and blog. Cannot do it right. I've really spent more hours than I can tell you.

      Hi Esther,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing difficulties. When you say you try to write the name of your site, do you mean you're trying to access your live site online?

I'm asking this because I can see you haven't published any of your saved sites, and therefor they are not live until you publish them.

Simply click on "Publish" (on the right side of the upper menu in your editor).
You can follow the instructions here.

Note: In order for the changes that you made in your editor to be published to your live website, you must click publish from the editor every time after you've saved your changes.

If I've misunderstood you I apologize in advance, in that case please try to describe to us what it is exactly your'e trying to achieve.

      Many thanks.

      - Daniel M, Wix team.
