Hi - I want to replace the background illustration for Sleep Away Camp - what size is the total background? And what size is the essential background before it may get cut off etc? I notice the lake for example down the bottom is really big so different screen resizing works well with it. Any help on measurements would be great.

To upload your own background image:

      1. From the left toolbar, click the Design icon to open the Design Manager.
      2. From the Design Manager, click Background.
      3. From the Background window, click Upload & Customize Background.
      4. Under Change Image, click Change Image.
      5. From the top right of the Image Selection window, click Upload Image.
      6. From the window that opens, browse your folders and select your image. Click Open to upload your image.
      7. From the Image Selection window, click your image and then click OK.
      Your background image changes.
Note: To return to the Design Manager, click Back to Design from the top of the Background window.
To close the Design Manager, click X from the top right.

      Hi jodyekert ,

There isn't a specific size recommendation, but 1920*1200 is rather standard for 24" monitors.

The Sleep Away Camp illustration though that comes with the template - how big is that in pixels?

You can find out the exact size of an image which is already in a site/template by opening it in your editor > click on the image > click settings > at the bottom of the new window that pops up to the left, you will be able to see the exact dimensions.

My screen does not have a paintbrush tool or design editor.. I am trying to customize the site page (not the main page) When I click the background button, it only gives me the option to change the color.. No fun prints, textures or custom jpegs.  Here is what I'm showing:

I can see that you have a Flash site and this is our HTML forum. You were probably looking at the wrong tutorial.

You can upload your own background by :

      1. Uploading the required photo by clicking on "MyFiles" -> "Pics".
      2. Mark the photo -> right click on the mouse -> set as background .
You can find more information about the background feature here.

To clarify, you can only upload images as your background, and you cannot add any html  code to it.

Hi - I have created a jpeg to use as my background. When I select some of the scaling options I see that some options have different results on display output. I think the tile option would be best for my image as the quality of the pics seems to be best with this option. The image shows up quite narrow on my site and I am thinking that I need to resize the original. Can someone tell me the precise dimensions that I need to save my original jpeg so that it fits the border? I'm trying not to make this too difficult. Thanks in advance and have a great day!

      Hey Tony,

To fit inside the grid lines, the image needs to have a width of 980 pixels. To appear across the entire site, it's hard to give a precise number because it depends on screen resolution. I'd recommend to just use the highest resolution available for the image.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if we could assist you further.

I'm having trouble here, I have this gray splatter image that I can *not* delete on top of my background image. I click it everywhere anywhere, can't delete it, can't find settings to get rid of it. Any idea?

Second issue, is when I look at my website, on the tab is says "test". How can I change this as well?

      Hi    AquariZcreationz,

I entered your editor and was able to delete the grey splatter image. Please note that if you are having difficulties to select elements you can use the keyboard by clicking ctrl+shift+m and simply roll through the elements. I saved my work so all you need to do is republish your website.

Please take a look at the screenshot below:

In order to change your site's tab name all you need to do is enter your editor> click on settings> SEO> Simply change your site's title name. I also recommend you to go over our learning center in order to improve your SEO.

I noticed that the tile in your site is part of the background and the background is to scroll with the site, therefore your background is changing according to the page size. To resolve this issue, from the editor simply go to design-->background--> customize background -->disable background scroll with the site.

      Shown in the screenshot below:

I seem to be unable to use the backgrounds provided by you guys. The block colour ones work, but everything else just seems to revert back to my background colour or just uses one of the colours from the background with no pattern on it. What am I doing wrong?

    Hey Wix Team,

I can't find my background in the Wix Gallery and I'd like to experiment with different backgrounds without worrying about not getting this one back. Can I, too, have a jpg. of it? I'm using Punk Band. Thanks!

I've been using the "Author"  stock Wix background and like it, but I would like to reload it as it isn't behaving as it should even though the box isn't checked the background image seems to scroll with the text.  The problem is that in Design/ Background/ Icustomize Background/ Change Image/  Wix Images I can't find the "Author" background image.  Where is it please?

    Thank you
