    Hi,

I'm having issues with my background being fully visible in my browser, but not across other browsers when I send the link out. Quick insight-we're designing our Wix background to mimic our agency's branding and while it's a simple design (white background with orange borders on top & bottom), it doesn't look good to have each page scale differently. I initially just uploaded the borders as individual items and visually judged whether or not the bottom border would show up on each page, and it was a painstaking and ultimately unfruitful task. The bottom border is visible sometimes, and at other times not visible at all. I then went with the option to have it visible on all pages, but each page scaled differently so sometimes the border was halfway up the browser and it just looked really off.

I was wondering if i uploaded an image of the border photoshopped together in an image as the background, that should remain standard across most browsers right? I just want the site to look uniform across most browsers as we will be sending this out to existing and potential clients. Is there a size of an image you recommend for doing so?

      Hey,

Reviewing your inquiry it is possible to get the results you are looking for, please review the information below as it will help you set things on your site correctly, and please don't hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

If you place one border in the 'Header' of your site and the other on the 'Footer'

Of your site they will always appear in the same place and across all pages.

You can create the borders as 'Strips'.

Strips allow you to break your site up into horizontal sections and help you to layout and design the look and feel of your site. Add strips to your site, customize their style and add your content to them. Click here for more information.

A header is the area of your website that appears across the top of your site and appears throughout all of your pages.
The header may contain your site title, company logo and your site menu.

Please note: it isn't possible to delete the header from your site.

A footer is the area of your website that appears across the bottom of your site and appears throughout all of your pages.
The footer may contain your contact information, copyright information or your social media icons.

    Hello,

I have added my own picture background to my website. When the background is locked from scrolling with the text, it fits perfect, but I want it to scroll with the text. When I unlock it and allow it to scroll with the text, it changes and moves or doesn't cover the entire page. Also it changes to different positions on different pages.

    Background too small.

    Hi There

I've edited one of your own Wix backgrounds (kept the original sizing) but when I preview my site the background is too small for my page (only covers the top left third) and leaves white space behind where the rest of my site info rests on top of.

    How do I:

    A. Get the background image to cover the entire site?

    B. Have my top layer information scroll over the static background, as it does when I am busy editing?

    Thanks for your help!

    Michelle

      Hi, Michelle!

I checked your site and couldn't recreate the problem. Your background covers your page and your page content is scrollable over static background:

While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

      Best regards, WIX Team.

I have created webpages and have used a photograph as the master background. I understand that it is only possible to have one background on multiple pages.

On my home page I do not want to see this background so as a 'quick' solution I added a coloured box over it which hides it and then another picture on top of the coloured box. The problem I have is that when I load my webpage the background photo which I have hidden appears and a few seconds later my coloured box appears over it.

Is there anyway that I can get the coloured box to appear instantly on webpage load up to solve this issue? Graham

Hi there, I was playing around with the backgrounds on my site and added a picture. Somehow, I have no idea how, the picture has become embedded and I cannot remove it. When I attempt to change the background it changes everything except this picture. It would seem the existing menu buttons no longer work either. I have tried editing the page settings but no luck with this either.

I'm stumped. Can you give any kind of guidance?!

Hey I have just viewed your site and was not able to see a image in the background, just a solid color.

      To set your background:

      1. From the left toolbar, click the Design icon to open the Design Manager.
      2. From the Design Manager, click Background.
      3. From the Background window, click a background.

      Your background changes.

Note: To return to the Design Manager, click Back to Design from the top of the Background window.
To close the Design Manager, click X from the top right.

For more information about backgrounds click here.

There are two ways to create an image with a transparent background:

      1. Starting from scratch:

Within Photoshop, click on  File > New.

In the Background Contents field, choose 'Transparent'.

You are free to design whatever you desire (text, shapes, lines, etc) and they will appear with a transparent background.

When you're done,  'Save for Web' as a .png file.

      2. Existing Image:

Within Photoshop, select the part of the image you want. Then copy it, and paste it into a new page within Photoshop. There, double click on the Background to edit the name, and change the opacity to 0%.

After you've done this, you should see a checkered box for the background. Then, click on 'Save for Web' and make sure to save it as a .png file.

Finally, upload it to your Wix editor!

Please also make sure that the picture has no skin. Click on the picture -> "Change Style" -> "Edit Style" -> choose the first skin called "No Skin Photo".

For more information on how to upload pics, click here .

Please provide us with a screen shot of the problem. For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.

To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

      Hi,

I checked your site and I can see that the component which is set to appear on all pages is not a background component but a gallery placed behind your page component and set to appear on all pages.

To remove the gallery, open you editor and click on your Page component > From the small window that opens, click on the 'Send Backwards' icon a few times until the slideshow is visible. You should then be able to remove from appearing throughout your site.

Hello again Adam. I want to have the background across the whole, say, home page. With a menu on top. It would be similar to your 'Wedding Website'. While playing around with the site I added a photo of some text. It would seem that this has become embedded as I cannot remove it. While I can send it backwards so it is not seen, if I put a transparent skin (using the page style) it shows the photo I added. Similarly, when I use cross fade to move between pages this photo also, briefly, flashes up. I can remove the cross fade and that fixes it but this is not a proper fix and it would be easier if it wasn't there.Screen Shot 2013-11-04 at 9.07.57 pm.pdf See the screenshot for what I mean. I don't want the picture but just the clear skiing so the text can be read with the template background behind it.

Hope that makes more sense and I haven't confused the matter more!

      Cheers!
