Choose from our many, eye-catching background options or upload your own!

 

To set your site's background: From the left side of the Editor, click the Design icon > click Background > select a background from the options provided or click Upload & Customize Background.

If you have chosen to upload your own background: From Customize Background, click Add Image > select an image from your media library or click Upload Images > click Change Background.

 

From this window, you will also be able to set your Image Scaling, whether or not the background should scroll with the site and the background color.

    grey area outside gridlines

    how can I change the color of the area outside the gridlines. It's grey and I don't like it, I want it white like the rest of my background colour.

    I have changed my website background but the background does not cover the full page. it used to do before, after making some editing on my site it does not show the background in full. please help. the website is WWW.rastanherald.com

      I had a look at your site and I was unable to see the problem you are referring to. The background does appear to cover the full page.
       

      Please provide us with a screen shot of the problem. For instructions on how to take a screenshot, please use this link.
       

      To upload the screenshot, simply click on the "Upload" button and follow the steps.
       

      Once we have this information, we will be able to assist you further.

      I understand what your saying. when i preview my page the background covers all, but hen i publish it only show until the photo slide show. as you will see in the picture. from there onward the rest of the page is white color.

      when i view my page on google chrome it covers the page but a a white color keeps coming up when i scroll up and down and then after a 1 sec it goes in to the background . i still have the problem with the white screen on Firefox.

      Hi,

      I was unable to recreate this issue on my side. The background was on the entire page.

       

      While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

      On Firefox i went to background and upload and customize background and changed the color at the bottom it it fixed at Firefox i still have the problem on chrome

    hi,

    I have had the same background image for a while now, but today it is gone. It shows as "in use" within the background editor, but do not show up in the editing bay or after publishing the site. What is up now..?

      Thank you for the reply. It is www.4thfloordesigns.com :) It might be a problem with my setup. I have done som changes on my machine and It seems like it is back in order again now. Thanks for checking anyways Ritti.

    Hello,

    I have added a background to my site, but I noticed there is a change in the quality of the background on each page. I would like it to look as crisp as it does on the 'Portfolio' or 'Contact' page, as the rest of the pages backgrounds are slightly blurred.

    is there a way to fix this? please help!

      To ensure that you maintain the quality of your photos and decrease loading time to a minimum when uploading to Wix, please follow the guidelines here.

      Thank you so much for your quick response.

      The part I don't understand is that it's the exact same image on the background of the website throughout - however the quality differs from page to page?

    Hi I'm having problems removing the (scrolling background image) http://www.kiwiindian.com/

    Please help as we are in litigation for copyright use and must remove the  (Red Indian headress logo) from our site.

    Hi Wix team, 

    I changed the background image on my site to a blue gradient - and I want the default image back.  How can I get it back? The published site still has the default image (it's like a faded sun room) but I am not able to find the default image in your selection of images. 

    Any way to get that image back?

      I was unable to locate any sun room background in your "insight site" whether in the live or editor versions.
