The ruler guidelines that run up and down in the html 5 are basically invisible, the blue triangle comes up but there aren't any lines leading downward or across that you can actually see and line up text or images.  Am I doing something wrong...this type of ruler and guide wasn't what i used before.  this one is not practical. please help

      Hey,

There are two forms of alignment in the HTML Editor:

      1) The vertical gridlines, which define the boundaries of the site.

Gridlines appear inside your editor to help you build your site's layout. Currently your site is fixed at 980px in order to accommodate the largest number of internet users that will be visiting your site. You will want to place all of your site's content inside the Gridlines to ensure its compatibility across different browsers and devices.

Checkout the video below to learn more about our Gridlines feature that will help you with your site's layout.

The gridlines do not appear on your live site - they are there as a guide that can help you map and design your site better. To remove the gridlines, simply click on the gridlines icon from the top menu.

      2. To align your items, select the CTRL key on your keyboard -> then select the items you wish to align -> On the left side of the editor, choose the type of alignment you like from the Elements Settings.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if we could assist you further.

      Sincerely, Leah Wix Team

      Hey,

Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment.

We document and learn from every feature request and bug brought to our attention. These objectives are immediately high priority milestones in Wix's product road map.

This feature will be built in order of priority. Priority is based on the popularity of our Wishlist items, which is full to overflowing with your good ideas and feedback!

Please let us know should you require any further assistance.

Well I don't understand cause it WAS in your roadmap for this summer! You said you would do it during the summer as well as making it much easier to change fonts in the template!! So, did you lie?

      Hi,

I am sorry but I am afraid this is still not possible at the moment. We always listen and document user requests and we try adding them to our platform as soon as we can. Unfortunately, we can not guarantee when a specific feature will be released and sometimes certain feature take more time to be developed. The development process is dynamic and the priority for certain features may change.

Please keep in mind that you can always create a new site with the template you want and add your content there. You can also manually add components you see on a specific template to your site to achieve the same effect. If there is something specific you want to add to your site and don't know how, feel free to let us know and we will gladly assist you in adding it.

      Thanks

    hey

I was wondering is it possible to make a banner fit full screen and be responsive, appearing the same size (full width) on any screen like a wordpress theme?

    • Michal

Replied by Michal September 16, 2013

      Hey garrettjones123,

At the moment, Wix sites are not yet able to determine the site's viewing mode, so it is impossible to make your site fit to screen.

Currently, the width of your site is fixed at 980px. This size was chosen in order to accommodate the largest number of internet users that will be visiting your site. This is common for the new generation of sites, as it ensures compatibility with the many different smart devices being used today (e.g. iPad users) where you only scroll up or down.

You can design your site outside of the 980px borders, however, we recommend that anything that you add outside of these borders be mainly decorative and not vital content to your visitors' browsing experience.

      Thanks,

      Michal - Wix Team

I started with a blank template so I could add my own image background.  I want my image on the far left only and to scroll with the page.  This works fine.  The problem is I am unable to size it so that the width is not as large.  Can this be done from within Wix?  Please advise.  Thanks!

I'm trying to tome up with a design based off what you are offering for a BlogTalkRadio host. What design what fit for a radio talk host, media/broadcasting? Please help

There's no specific template, i.e design for a site dedicated to radio.

However, I would recommend browsing through the different templates we offer, perhaps the ones under 'Music' or 'Entertainment' will be to your liking.

Also, please check out the 'Explore' tab in Wix.com - this may come as a great inspirational tool for your site's design.
