There are several reasons why this might happen. Please check the following:

1. Make sure that you have added a link to the button. Click the button to select it > from the pop-up menu, click Link To > check that your link is set up correctly.

2. Make sure that your site has been published and not only saved.

3. Make sure that another element is not blocking the button by being placed on top of it.

    Greetings, I just started having a problem when i go to preview my site I cant click on any of the menu options its as if the toolbar is frozen...When I right click and choose reload frame it then allows me to click on and navigate the menu items but then my logo link becomes from and unable to click on it...went back to edit mode to make sure nothing was overlapping menu options ..

    My preview also got stuck on mobile mode even when i would click on desktop mode, forced to log out then log back in.. 

    I tried in other browsers with the same result, also tried changing pop up settings, flash and java updates, virus/malware scans, cleaned temp files ect..

    Any advise?

      Overview

      Sometimes bugs happen and we appreciate your understanding and patience with us! Below are some errors that you may encounter and suggestions for solving them.

      If you're experiencing issues with your Wix editor, you may want to try the following steps first:

       

      1. Open your browser to a blank page. Close any Wix pages that are open. = Done, but still not working

       

      2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies of "Everything". You can find step-by-step instructions here. = Done, but still not working

       

      3. Restart your browser and then log into your Wix account and try again. If this doesn't work, then continue on to Step 6. = Done, but still not working

       

      4. Try using other browsers to open Wix. Recommended browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and either IE or Safari (depending on whether you use a    PC or a MAC).  = Done, but still not working

       

      5. If you connect to the internet through a router, please try connecting directly through the modem. Then follow Steps 2-5 again. = Done, but still not working

       

      6. Try disabling your internet security programs and try again (i.e. antivirus, firewall, etc.). It is preferable to try this while still connected to the modem directly. This is meant to assist us in determining the source of the problem that you're facing. = Done, but still not working

       

      7. Try connecting to Wix from a different computer that uses a different network to connect to the internet. Done, but still not working

      Finally, if you are still having issues, please contact us. Let us know exactly which steps you tried and what worked or didn't work. Please also include the following information:

       

      1. What Operating System you're using (i.e. Mac OSX, Windows XP, etc.)  = Windows 7 pro 64 bit

       

      2. What browsers you've tried - and include the version of the browser (can generally be found by going to Help > About within the browser).   = Torch version for Windows: 29.0.0.5530  and I.E. version 11 and Chrome version 28.0.1500.72

       

      3.Your Wix username and the document name of the site(s) with the issue.   = username is warmerdesignsllc and document name is also warmerdesignsllc

       

      4. Attach a screenshot of the problem, if possible. =

       

      5. Your geographic location and which ISP you use. =  Lawrenceville, G.A. & Charter

       

      6. Which internet security programs you have installed on your computer (antivirus, firewall, etc.). =,

    Hi

    Just published this site. I know how to link the pages and create buttons, yet nothing works. The words 'Blue Jasmine' should go to the page called Reviews, every other film on the homepage has a link. Nothing works, yet in the editor everything is linked up correctly. What should I do?

      Hi,

       

      Please note that the link you've added to the words Blue Jasmin lead to the same page the link appears on, that is why nothing is happening, the link takes you to the same page you're already on.

       

      Regarding the links on your other movies, I've noticed that you have set all of the elements on your homepage to appear on all pages. That is why it appears that the links aren't taking you anywhere.

       

      I would first correct the layout issues you have with the components appearing on all pages using the tutorial below. The next thing I would do is add a menu bar to the site.

       

       

      A header is the area of your website that appears across the top of your site and appears throughout all of your pages.
      The header may contain your site title, company logo and your site menu. 
       

      Please note: it isn't possible to delete the header from your site.

      Hi Ron,

      Thanks for the quick reply. Ok, let me clarify a few things:

      Blue Jasmine is now and always has been linked to Reviews. Just checked and this setting is the way I left it last night.

      However, somehow the white box under the text and images seems to have activated "show on all pages" for all the text and images on the Homepage. I did not do this myself. The box also set itself to this mode. I deactivated "show on all pages" for everything on the homepage. Managed to get the text and picture in front of the box, deactivate "show on all pages" again, and check that the links were correct. 

      I went to the live site and clicked, but nothing still nothing. When I click on Blue Jasmine on the homepage, I do see the browser looking for gypcbdgnfft.wix.com/film-for-thought#!film-review/c28q8. Film-review is the page address for the page called Reviews. I checked the other links, and similarly, the redirection address at the bottom of the browser page is correct.

      I'm sorry to contradict you but nothing on the homepage is linked to Home, not in my editor.

      I've watched the video on organizing the site, navigation, etc., but this is just the basic stuff I already know.

      running out of ideas here...

      PS. the menu bar links don't work either. The page names are in settings, where they're supposed to be... I am at a loss to figure this out. I had a wix site 2 years ago, I don't remember ever having so many problems.

      Hi

       I figured out what was wrong, and learned something about editing/updating the site. Every time you modify something, even if the site is already published, you have to hit Save and then republish it. 

      It works fine now, and it looks great!

    My menu on my site, when I go to the active site, isn't allowing me to click on any of the pages except the last one, contact us.  From that page, I am able to click backwards from right to left on the individual pages to home, once I'm there, it's stuck again...

    Do I need to switch each page to a button?  Shouldn't this work as a text menu?

      Hi,

      This issue is occurring because your Text element is overlaying your menu and blocking it:

      To resolve this issue simply select your text element and click on the "send backward" icon until it is behind your menu.

      THanks.  Fixed.  When I edit the menu, there is the option for a button, text or extra.  What exactly is the difference between the three in functionality? 

      Now, on my our sweets page (when I see the live site) there is a "MY BUTTON" that pops up which I can seem to even view on my editor...?  Also the menu seems to scroll down when I scroll down the page... where is the function to keep that fixed below the header.

      Okay I seemed to have figured out how to fix the menu.  THe "My BUtton" now only appears when it fades from one page to another.  It doesn't show once the pages switch, only during the fade...

      Hi,

      This is occurring for similar reasons, it seems that you have a button behind your main page.

      To resolve this simply select your main page and click on the send backwards button until this element appears and you are able to remove it:

      okay.  thanks.  I thought that might be it. 

      One last thing that I am noticing at the moment.  The doorstep drops page seems to have all three text boxes in different sizing and can't seem to sync them all up no matter what I do.  Can I copy sizing and formatting for all three to be on equal terms?

      for example, just noticed on my live page that the OUR MENU on home is dropped down a bit from the others.  How do I harmonize all three links...?

      Hi,

      Quick trick when trying to change the size of any element on the page is to click on the actual element and look on the bottom of the settings for the w: h: settings, then you'll be able to copy the height and width settings and paste it for any other element or box on the page. 

       

      If that didn't help, please provide us with a screenshot of the problem so that we'll be able to provide a more accurate answer.

      Those w/h measurements are equal.  But if you look at my live site, the alignment is way off.  It's much closer, but not quite exact on my editor page though...

    Dear Support,

    There is a MAJOR GLITCH in the Linking of Buttons function. Every time, I try to link my "About Page" to another page, the link get dismissed and/or ignored. The only link that is working is the "About Page" link. I need to link 4 pages in total and none of them are linking correctly. When I enter the appropriate linking, it becomes dismissed and reverts back to the initial "About Page". What is going on?? I am a paying customer, please assist because it looks very unprofessional when customers are trying to view my page and can't access the next page correctly. Please respond.       Hi,

      I tried linking a button to the "About petite" page in your site, and it worked as expected.

      Please make sure to follow the steps provided below regarding adding and connecting a button:

       
      1. From the left in the Editor, click the Add icon.
      2. From the Add list, click Buttons & Menus. Click one of the button options.
      3. From the Button Settings window, under Button Text, type a name for your button.
      4. Under Link to, click the field.
      5. From the Link Settings window that opens, click your Link type: Web Address, Page, Email or Document and add your link.
      6. From the Link Settings window, click Done.
      7. Click outside of the button to close the Button Settings window.
       
      A button is added to your site.
       
      Note: To return to Add , click Back to Add from the top of the window. To close Add, click X from the top right.

    Hi I have a problem.  Two of my buttons on my homepage are 'linked' together - the "planning & results" buttons.   I have tried to link them separately to other pages on my site; however, when you click on them they only take to the link that is for the planning button.  I can't even change the 'color' unless it is changing it for both buttons.  I have read the Q & A, and the forums to no avail.  Can I please have some assistance.

    In my HOME page appear all the time thge name SOLUTION. I can not remove it or,change it !!!

    Its appear and very disturb when I or others, try to upload my site,please help !!!

    hey,

    I have a problem with my menu , for some reason when i press on the "illustration" page it won't respond and go directly to "games and apps"  , when i press again on the "illustration" page it  it opens  it- but only on the second time.

      You can also use CTRL + M to navigate through all the elements on your page and find those invisible boxes and delete them! (Simply click on a random element on your page and use the keywords)

    I have a lot of problems with the bottons, all the pictures which I inserted is gone, when trying to connect to the bottons. I am going crazy on this subject, why is it giving so many problems???

      So to add the product gallery you need to

      . From the left side of the Editor, click the plus sign to open Add.
      2. From Add, click Online Store.
      3. From Online Store, click Product Gallery.

      4. Click Add to Page.
      5. From Choose Collection, click the drop-down menu to choose a collection. Click OK.

      then adding the shopping cart

      1. From the left side of the Editor, click the plus sign to open Add.
      2. From Add, click Online Store.
      3. From Online Store, click Shopping Cart.

    On my awanaksmo.org site, I am trying to add links to text boxes.  I click on "edit text" then the link icon.  I select "web" for the kind of link and then type the url into the appropriate field.  At this time, the response of the link window ceases.  I can click "ok" and nothing happens.  I can close the window, but that obviously does not help.  I can go back and reselect the kind and enter an email, but that doesn't help either (especially since I wanted a website url link) - but even so, once I try to enter a url, I can't add any kind of link.

    I have an Affiliates website and I think I have icons on top of other icons and when I click a icon - it only opens the linked site in the icon position, instead of going to that site...Oh! Boy! Can you help, troubleshoot it, and or, remove the icons in back of the front icon or do I have to tear it all down and start from scratch!!..thanks!

      Ok! - I need to add I call and got Domain.com to point my new domain name to Wix, then I added Affiliates / Icon (pictures / HTML) to the last of page (bottom): Wine, Exclusives (the wine), Funiture, and Business....this is after testing the icons since a while ago - I trusted that they worked...I kinda remember losing something (text one , or icon) in Men and womnen section..not sure..Thanks!!!

      Here is an example - look at the far-upper right hand side and see - it shows wine.com inside the placement hold for the icon that was clicked (not going to the actual website  - wine.com)

      Lastly - I just discovered that I re-named and updated my new domain name - with my Affiliates (Linkshare & Commission Junction) day before yesterday - and so I contacted them on the issues and hope they speed up with the update and problem - onr more thing - I made a link (Html) Icon and encrypted, set to next page and reset link as a test and it worked - so I may have to re-construct the whole Wix site or maybe you may have to fix the pointer Domain.com did or my affiliates will do something - Wish me luck (lol) - Thanks!!

      I have attached a screen shot of what is happening - on the uppe right hand side of wine.com - you will see the the Ad - website is in hte placement holder of the icon itself, instead of going to the ads website - it stays - I also tested a html link and checked the boxes for (encrypetion, goto link, etc) and it worked..I may have to re-construct my whole Wix site with doing that, unless you can refresh or change all of my links some kind of way. Thanks!

      While we generally can't provide support for third party code such as affiliate links, this is an easy fix:

      You need to add the code Target="_blank" to the href in your HTML codes, like this:
