Hi there. I'm having trouble with a link. I've found that Wix won't let me use a link that contains brackets like ( ). For example, I try to enter in an address like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_from_the_Crypt_(TV_series) where (TV_series) is in brackets. Wix claims it's an invalid link and won't allow me to link to it or any other link with (  ). It's very frustrating. Is there a way around this?

How do I add more buttons?

My template is only letting me display 4 buttons at a time.  None of my pages are sub pages.  The last pages I wish to display come up under a 'more' button that I don't like.  How do I fix this?

    Best,

    Kate

I want to link my blog using one of the buttons on my menu. The buttons and menus drop down box offers a text menu - I have opted for this. When I  click on the button 'blog' from this text menu, the orange coloured menu box pops up, I click on settings, another dropdown box appears on the left called menu settings and there is no option on there to LINK to anywhere else. Does my site have to be live before I get an option to do the linking?

      Hi janshepherd,

We currently do not have the option to add an external URL to a menu button. Feel free to vote for this feature in this thread.

In the meantime, you can add a button and link the button to an external URL. For information about buttons, click here.

      Thanks,

There is no "link" option in any of the settings for "Buttons & Menus" or for the Social "like" button for FB.  I don't know what to do in this case. Please help!

    Hello.

I'm trying to link a text to a certain place in the website page.
To clarified, I have a list of products (index) at the top of the page and below it a long list of products and their features. I want that clicking the product's name at the top of the page will take me right to the product features.
The products index and the products are in the same page.

    Can I do it?

Unfortunately linking within the same page or to an area on a specific page (anchoring) is not possible yet on Wix.

    Hi,

I'm trying to add a link on my website inside one of teh buttons but it keeps saying it's not a valid link. I read the first post her and it sounds like it's related to my issue but I couldn't entirely understand the answer.

    This is the link: a href="https://www.psychselect.com/cgi-bin/therapyappointment/login.cfm?practitioner=4142" target="_blank">Set Appointment Now</a

      Hi dfinman,

Please note that your link (URL) is only this part:  https://www.psychselect.com/cgi-bin/therapyappointment/login.cfm?practitioner=4142

Please add the above mentioned link to your button (step 5 in the instructions at the top of the thread). This should work.

Let us know if you still require assistance!

      Thank you

A list was posted of the substitutions needed in URLs when making links to outside site.

However, in that list no mention was made of the symbol  ?  which my URL is using.  Therefore, the link that I would like to create is not possible at this time.  Do you know or can you create a code for the question mark symbol so that I can make a link in my wix site?   Thank you.

    Example:    www.bigshow.com/video_new[   >>>> www.bigshow.com/video_new%3

                       www.bigshow.com/audio_new?  >>>>www.bigshow.com?audio_new(what goes here?)

      Hi,

Please note: The URL address: www.example.com/#!|page_name|24c6

Your Wix HTML5 website is built using HTML5 and AJAX technology . This has many benefits including the ability to have animated page transitions, your own  background, a header and footer that stay static while the rest of your content is dynamic, use of all of the new HTML features as they are released, dynamic page sizing and optimization for mobile devices.

You can find more information about the structure of the URL address here.

      Than you,

      Dina.

      Hello,

If you want your Wix site to have a link to an external web site, please follow these steps:

      1. Launch your site in the Wix Editor.

      2. Add an item you want to function as the link (such as a button or text).

      3. Select the item. The Settings panel will appear on the left of your screen.

      4. If you added a button, you'll see the Link To option on that panel. Select it.

      5. Now select Web Address.

      6. Input your link and click OK.

You can find additional information on linking here.

Let us know if you need any additional help!
