To turn your menu into a drop down menu, simply create subpages for your site.

To create subpages: From the left side of the Editor, click the Pages icon > roll your mouse over the left side of a page in the list > drag the page to the right.

Subpages automatically appear in the drop down section of your menu.

Note: If your menu does not turn into a drop down menu, please delete your old menu and add a new menu to your site.

      Hi,

Currently you can add only one drop down menu to your site. The second menu (for the second language) must be created using buttons and unfortunately it is not possible at the moment to add drop down options to buttons.

We document and learn from every feature request and bug brought to our attention. These objectives are immediately high priority milestones in Wix's product road map.

How do I format a drop down menu? It is not ready to be published yet, but I cannot change anything about the placement or style of the drop down menu.

    Thanks!

I've dragged the pages in the list to the right to make them sub pages, but they are not turning into drop-downs in preview. What's happening?

      Hi southcoasttoyandcomi,

We are using Ajax Crawling as a way for the search engines to read your websites code. With Ajax Crawling, your content, data and design are merged together and extracted far easier and quicker by search engines.

Using Ajax Crawling however means that accessing your source code is a little different.
If you access the source code the usual way (right clicking and view source), you will not see your websites content but rather a code, <meta name="fragment" content="!">, to tell search engines that we are using Ajax Crawling.

If you wish to view your website source code, use the below examples of where to place '?_escaped_fragment_=' within your domain name in order to access the escaped fragment version of your website. Once you are viewing the escaped fragment version of your website, you may right click and select 'View Source Code' in order to access your websites source code.

      Example site - www.wixexample.com
      1. Home Page - place ?_escaped_fragment_= at the end of your URL
      www.wixexample.com/?_escaped_fragment_=

      Example site - www.wixexample.com#!AboutUs/c2414
      2. Individual pages - ?_escaped_fragment_= in place of the #!
      www.wixexample.com/?_escaped_fragment_=AboutUs/c2414

Please let us know what document you're referring to so we can take a further look at the issue.

      Kind regards,

      Ariadne - Wix Team

I'm not sure. I'm just the designer. I'm trying to clean up what was originally created using your service because that is what the original site was designed on. Is there a way I can look at the raw code and possibly find out the problem?

      Hi southcoasttoyandcomi,

Unfortunately you cannot edit or change your site's source code directly.

Please remove the menu object, and re-add it.

This should fix the sub-pages to work with the menu object properly.

Should you require further assistance, please let us know,

      Elia - Wix Support

      Hi,

Please note that it is not possible to add two different menus to a Wix site, which means that you will not be able to add a menu in one language and a different menu in a different language. Therefore we suggest to create the second menu using buttons arranged in a row. You can vote for this feature here.

I apologize for the inconvenience. If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

    Hi!

I have a problem with the mobile version of my website. When previewing my site (it is not yet live) the drop down menu is able to drop as expected, but the page behind it is still clearly visible through it. This makes it extremely difficult to read the page names. Is this because my site is not live? And if not, is it something that I can fix? Maybe by making the page behind it dimmer or blurred so that it's clearer to see the actual page names.

    Thanks in advance,

    Katie

The best reply for this problem doesn't make any sense. The video shows the format of the editor completely different. I'm guessing their was a change in the way Wix editor works. Well I would appreicate the new way to get a subcategory in the menus , please.

Hi there, I have a menu with drop-downs. However, I want one of the pages in the menu NOT to link to anything. I.E. I'm building a portfolio site; I have my menu setup as:

    Home | Portfolio | About | Contact

Home, About, Contact are all linked to pages so when someone clicks on them, they are taken to the corresponding page. I want Portfolio NOT to connect to a page, but rather just be the header there, so when people click on it, my dropdown menu of Graphite, Acrylic, Watercolour options appear.

How can I do this? The menu doesn't act like a regular button, so I can't just set it to do this function like a button.
