Linking Menu Item to External URL

I have a menu item that I want to link to an external URL instead of to a page within my WIX site. I created the blank page and added it to the menu, so the Menu Name is correct. But when I click on the menu options, I don't see any prompting for "Link To" which seems to be the way to link everything else on wix, like buttons and pictures.

I also tried typing the URL into the settings are of the page for "page address" but that didn't work.

It is not possible to add a link to the external URL to Menu.
Please add "Buttons" instead of Menu in order to achieve the effect that you are looking for.
For the further instructions, please refer to the Best Reply of this thread.

    Hi,

I want to add an online booking widget to my page so clients can book directly through my site and access all available appointments in my diary in wahanda.  Below is the code, but where can I paste this within the site to make it work, or is it impossible for wix to do at the moment?

    <script src="https://widget.wahanda.com/common/venue-menu/javascript/widget-button.js"></script> <script> (function() { var link = document.createElement("link"); link.type = "text/css"; link.href = "https://widget.wahanda.com/common/venue-menu/css/widget-button.css"; link.rel = "stylesheet"; link.media = "screen"; document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(link); }()); </script> <a href='http://www.wahanda.com/' id="wahanda-online-booking-widget" onclick='wahanda.openOnlineBookingWidget("http://widget.wahanda.com/place/268854/menu/"); return false;' target="_blank"> <span>Book now!</span> </a>

    Thanks

      Hey Clare,

Please note that it is not possible to add HTML code directly to the source code of your site, you can however use our HTML App to test and add your own HTML code to your Wix site.

For more information check out the tutorial below, or you can click here.

*Take a minute to read through the Known Issues & Limitations of the HTML iFrame/Embed App via the link above before using this.

We also have several general booking/scheduling apps available in the Wix App Market:

      1. Add SimplyBook to your site for a free and easy online reservation tool. You can also contact SimplyBook at any time!

      Email: support@simplybook.me
      Website: http://simplybook.me/

      2. Add Online Booking to your Wix site and manage your guests in one place. Feel free to contact Futurestay anytime with question or comments:

      Email: support@futurestay.com
      Website: http://futurestay.com/
      Phone: 888.885.3439

You can find both apps by clicking the market icon from the left side of your Editor and browsing for scheduling apps.

      Hey,

I am not fully sure I understand the question, if what you want to do is link a button to your HTML app it is not currently possible but  you can link a button to the page on which you have the HTML app.

      Best regards

Unity Web Player, does this work? has anyone tried it?

I have made a medical simulation protoype to help explain medical vernacular to the general public. I would really like to have it up and running on WIX so I can make a better looking website.

Maybe I have missed this, but how do I make a word a link, meaning, I use the word "Wikipedia" and if someone clicks on it, it goes to an outside site? In this case, it would go to Wikipedia.

    Thanks so much!

    Hello Wix,

is it possible to create text button link within the page that will be connected with it page, but it only should open new window within it page, where it shown the content of that link?

Currently within my site www.kiddyjoy.rs, I have many text button links that is linked to some another internal pages, so I have problem with many pages within my site. As above mentioned I want that when I click on that link the new window within this page is open, or it is sending me somewhere else within the same page, where is the content of that link. Is it possible to do so within Editor?

    It will be very helpful.

    Thanks,

    Ivan

    Hello,

I have a music band site,   www.blueskybandpghpa.com   The trouble I seem to be having is with the music media buttons. When I type the band site directly into my browser and hit return the site comes up and the songs play when I click on the music buttons. HOWEVER when I click links to the site from Facebook or other linked sites, such as a local restaurant the music buttons are silent. I spoke to a Wix customer rep. and I used FB debugger, also, we checked my browser with What's My Browser. Could my recent install of Apple Maverick be the problem? Are the music buttons inactive only on my computer or on other site visitors using the newest Apple Maverick OS. Wix customer rep suggested I ask the support forum. Thanks for any help and look forward to a reply.

      Hi.

I checked your site and I wasn't able to recreate the problem. Even when I tried accessing your site from the sites you have provided links for, your audio files worked great.

To further investigate, please try using a different browser and a different computer and let us know if you can recreate the problem so that we can better isolate its source.

Music buttons won't activate on MY computer using OS7 Maverick,  they worked before with mountain lion. I installed the new Maverick. So maybe it's an Apple issue. Other than that the site works for me.Thank you to the Wix supporters for your replays and expertise!

    Hi Wix Team,

I am using a flash template for the site - http://www.minimusicalmadness.com/#! - I had not updated the site for 4-5 months until this week. After trying to get some word documents linked to my buttons, I have noticed none of them are working any more.

I have tried uploading the documents to the site and linking using the 'My Files > DOCS', I have also tried uploading with dropbox and using external URLs via various buttons and elements. None of the things I am trying is actually letting me download the forms though. Am obviously not doing anything different than I was 4-5 months ago so am a little confused why this is happening. (Example - http://www.minimusicalmadness.com/#!applications )

Any assistance on the issue would be greatly appreciated as I am working to a deadline for the start of term. Thank you in advance :)

Please note the problem is that your site is embedded instead of connecting the domain to Wix. Please purchase a premium package and connect your domain correctly, you can find instructions here.
