Great news! You can now add a Blog Archive to your site! Your Blog Archive will automatically gather all your past posts and categorize them by month and year. You can display the Blog Archive as a list of dates or a drop-down menu.

To add a Blog Archive: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add button > click Blog Elements > click Archive.

Click the archive button that is added to your site > from the pop-up menu, click Settings > customize your archive's layout, date format and number of months to display.

Note: You can currently only customize the date format for the List of Dates layout.

    Hi there,

I am unable to find my 'Older Posts' and 'Newer Posts' buttons. My site is CookDineWine and it is unpublished right now. If someone could let me know how to find it I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Amy

      Hi Amy,

You only have 7 entries on your blog.

The "Older Posts" button only appears after publishing 11 entries, as a page contains 10 entries.

Should you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

    Hi there,

I understand that the 'Older Posts' button is supposed to show up beneath the blog feed once there are over 10 entries. However, my blog easily has nearly 30, and this button is nowhere to be found. I also can't seem to find an 'add' button that will lead to this. Can you please assist? Thank you!

      Hi,

I checked your site, and the reason that you are unable to see the 'Older Posts' button is because it is set to White, on a White background. This is the Button's location:

You can change its color by clicking on it > Customize Fonts:

To make it easier for you to find, I changed the color to Black and Saved your site. As you can see below, the Older Posts button now appears:

You can change its color at any time from the Editor.

If you require any further assistance in the future please don't hesitate to contact us again.

I guess I'm another person who wonders why theres no "keep reading" button. How can you only have 10 posts at a time? This means I have to delete older posts to make room for new ones, and so people can't search previous articles. Please fix this!!

      Hi,

You can have more than 10 posts at a time. When you have more than 10 blog post, pagination will appear in the blog feed.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask

I merged your post to the relevant Wishlist thread. Unfortunately, currently this isn't possible.

I am sure this has been brought up... but is there really no option for NEXT PAGE or ARCHIVED POST/???

do we really want our site viewers infinitely have to scroll down or having to delete blog post to make room? this sounds silly.

After reading posts since October 2013, here's my question; Can you recommend a blog that works well with your template?

    Thanks

To add a blog simply click on "Add" -> "Blog" inside your HTML editor.
You can take a look at our learning center page for more information and instructions.

The blog application allows you to:

      - add a blog to your Wix site

      - add various kinds of posts to your blog: video, image and text

      - improve your site's SEO by regularly adding new content to your site

      - share your blog and posts on social networks.

**New**: We have a brand new Blog category on the Templates page!
The templates are divided into 3 categories: Business, Personal and Reviews.

Here are some features we are still working on:

      - Adding multiple media items (several images, videos paragraphs) to one post (instead of only 1 image + text / 1 video + text / text that we have now).

      - Preview option when editing posts in the editor.

      - Built in comment system.

      - Importing data from other blog platforms.

You can follow this thread for suggestions and updates about new blog features.

We also have several blog apps in the Wix App Market that you can use! You can add a  Tumblr Feed  and  Blogger Feed  to your site. Also check out the Easy SEO Blog.  Click here for more information about adding apps to your site.

Thanks for the reply. As I stated, I've been reading the postings.

      Issues:

Blog drops down / freezes on preview. Per forum, you're working on it. I don't feel it's fair to ask my customers to be patient.

Menu disappears. Per forum suggestion: Link words in postings to take customers back. (Not a professional resolve.)

Blogger app will not show Archived postings. Set up on Blogger is correct. I find no help in this department. I've only been on that one for a few hours, though, so I'll keep trying.

I appreciate the videos, but they don't resolve the issues.

We've spent a great deal of time configuring pictures and issues to meet your templates restrictions. The inconsistencies are frustrating. That said, we'd like to stay with Wix if possible, but it doesn't seem like offering a functioning blog is a high priority for Wix. (ie: Wix customer support has been sending the same more or less generic reply as above since October 2013) And that's ok, but it's a real time vampire and finding there are no solutions after the fact is frustrating. It might be best to let people know in advance that there are major issues here.

Either offer it (blog) or don't, but sending paying customers on a wild goose chase is not very honorable.

      With respect,

      jw

How can I set a specific number of posts to be displayed per page? Right now I have 10 posts on my page, so coincidently, load time has increased. It looks so unprofessional as well. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks for your help.

I noticed that you have posted multiple questions on the forum.

In order to receive a more accurate response and to avoid any confusion with overlapping material, please post your question only once.

This will also speed up our response time to you since you will not have to repeat your issue multiple times and explain it to multiple representatives.

You can see my answer here

Hey, I just found that we can hook up a wordpress site to our Wix site….the wordpress sites can have archives…I wonder what will happen to them if I hook it up to Wix…will they remain?  If so, this could be a way to achieve archives in the meantime.  Has anyone tried this?  Wix…would this work?  Becky
