- add a blog to your Wix site

- add various kinds of posts to your blog: video, image and text

- improve your site's SEO by regularly adding new content to your site

- share your blog and posts on social networks.

**New**: We have a brand new Blog category on the Templates page!
The templates are divided into 3 categories: Business, Personal and Reviews.

Here are some features we are still working on:

- Adding multiple media items (several images, videos paragraphs) to one post (instead of only 1 image + text / 1 video + text / text that we have now).

- Preview option when editing posts in the editor.

- Built in comment system.

- Importing data from other blog platforms.

You can follow this thread for suggestions and updates about new blog features.

We also have several blog apps in the Wix App Market that you can use! You can add a  Tumblr Feed  and  Blogger Feed  to your site. Also check out the Easy SEO Blog.  Click here for more information about adding apps to your site.

Facebook may not always have updated information regarding your site, this is why your site's description and photos may be out of date when posting on your wall. To update Facebook with your site's recent information make sure you have changed the site's description from the default (you can do this on the editor, click settings at the top and update, be sure to save your changes).

      Now use this link.

It allows you to submit your site to Facebook for re-scanning. Paste your site's URL and click Debug. Once done updated pictures of your site will appear instead of old or default pictures as well as your updated site description.

Please follow this link for more information.

I just created a blog via WIX yesterday and I am trying to change the background, in order to match my site (currently with WIX). When I go to search for an image, and select "your wix account", I have an error message telling my that I am not logged in to my wix account. Which is incorrect since I logged on (and stayed on) in order to access the blog page in the first place... !?! That doesn't make sense...

    Please help!

      Please try the following:
While keeping your editor open, go to wix.com and log out of your account. Then log in again while keeping your editor open, and then try to add the image again.

In addition, I noticed that you are using an older version of IE. To make sure things run smoothly, please make sure to update all your browsers to the most recent versions.

To download the latest Internet Explorer browser please click here

If the issue persists, try using another browser and let us know if the issue is resolved.

Any chance Wix will develop an android app of Wix Blog for its clients ? That would be really great and handy. When we'll be able to add posts from our mobile devices without opening wix editor every time we want to post or edit something, more people could cooperate together on the same website blog in the same time with different or the same login credentials, that will be just awesome.

    Thank you

P.S. Cannot wait till I download WIX Blog app from Google Play and start using straight away  :D

    Two questions here:

    1) is there an option to add a "back" or "forward" button link to the individual blog post pages?  It seems counter intuitive to not have these on the page.

    2) How can I edit a specific blog posting LAYOUT page.   I can only seem to access the most recent post.  While I have noticed the 2nd post page layout is messed up with overlapping items.  But I have not found a way to access just that particular blog post to edit the page layout.

Can we please get a statement on these critical issues (namely, failure of SEO; failure to deliver no-brainer features such as embedded images; failure to meet promises regarding tool support; failure to deliver professional-quality tools; failure to address a tidal wave of upset and concern) from the person in charge of the Wix blog project?  Given how long many of us have been watching this thread, I don't at all think it is too much to ask to hear from the person in charge.

Better yet, let's hear from the company's founders: Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami, or Giora Kaplan.  Because the truth is, I'm not convinced that Wix leadership is actually aware of these gaping holes in the toolset.  If someone in the company is hiding their own ineptitude by pretending it's all going just swimmingly, the leadership needs to know.  Or, they need to publicly justify this hodgepodge and harmful approach to developing new "features" which is clearly hurting the company's public image.

We appreciate any feedback regarding any feature that we provide, I can assure you that we take user complaints and requests very seriously and are constantly working towards improving the tools that we provide. Considering that  the Blog feature is still in the first steps of its development roadmap, we understand the frustration, and yet, it also allows us to modify and develop according to our users needs and requests.

We generally believe that if a better solution is out there, unless we think that our tool will have an added value for most of our users - we don't develop it. So you can be assured that this isn't the finalized version of the Blog, and that it'll definitely be improved dramatically: The embedded images feature is being developed, along with a more sophisticated content management system, and a different structure to improve SEO and generally control of your blog , importing and exporting from different platforms and other features.

Regarding your specific issue with SEO -

Note that searching for your different posts titles, regardless of your site's name showed me your site in the first results, that's in spite of the fact that you've published the same articles in different locations, which Google considers duplicated content and penalizes you for in general - so if you're having a specific problem, we'd love to take a closer look. I can assure you (and any other user reading this, of course) that your blog posts are being indexed by google.

Of course, you can always let us know if you have any more questions.

Look, Dror, I appreciate your candid response.  But what you're saying is quite different from the song Wix has been singing for the last two years.  When the promises about a blogging feature began, there was no mention that users should expect an initially substandard tool that would gradually improve with time.  When you guys began getting everyone excited for the blog tool over the summer, there was no whisper of the fact that it would be a beta for many months before it would be ready for prime time.  In fact, the opposite has been true: Wix tends to dangle new features in front of its users like they are going to be the greatest thing since sliced cheese, and only after they are launched does it became clear that they are not professional grade.  If I had any idea how long it would take for this thing to get up to snuff, I wouldn't have hung around this long.  Which I suspect is why you guys do it: you are well aware that the shiny promises are keeping people paying for the service.  It's game of constant promises and endless delays, and it takes an angry post like mine today to even get a reasonable response out of you guys.

You say you have a development roadmap, and I am certain it is true, but you guys aren't willing to share details about what features to expect or went to expect them.  If anything, we have learned that whatever you do release is likely to have significant problems that will then take months again to redress -- so you need to understand the perspective of many other people on this forum: that you are making it difficult to remain a customer of yours.

In regard to the specific SEO issue, I am aware of the penalty for doubling content but that is not what is going on here.  If I run a Google search for my name plus the title of my site plus the main keyword of a post (the keyword being something like "Braveheart" or "Game of Thrones"), Google does not return the relevant blog post.  The original post from that other site you mentioned is the first thing on the list; from there, it's a combination of other articles I've written for that other site, and potentially the front page and/or static pages of my Wix site, but Wix blog posts are NOT indexing correctly so there is DEFINITELY an SEO issue going on with HTML5.  (By contrast, I used to mirror my content to a wordpress site, and in those cases the duplicate content DID appear on the Google search.)

Last but not least: as I have been told you guys at least four times over the last six months, the link back to this thread in the auto-email generated by your response is broken.  How much of a developmental roadmap does it really take to fix an automatic email?

Please try unfollowing and following this topic again, and if the issue persist, please let us know.

      Regarding our feature release process:

We do not promise something that we're not absolutely certain we can keep.

Please note we're taking our development roadmap very seriously, and one of the reasons we do not provide ETAs for features, is that priorities are dynamic and changing according to various reasons, some can be time critical.

One thing I can share with you is this: there are a lot more features to come.

      1) You haven't addressed the main concern of this post, which is the SEO problem.  Try searching my name + title of my site + the phrase "Game of Thrones."

The first Wix page to come back is #5, and it's the *front page* of my site.  Not useful.

      - The next page to come back is a blog post -- but it's a) the WRONG post and b) it has the WRONG title even for that post!

How can you possibly say this is working right?  Clearly it's completely broken.

      2) The email link issue occurs across all threads and topics and is also definitely broken.  I've reported this six times now.  Here is the link to this thread as it appears in my email.  Notice the double "http" at the beginning.   http://http//www.wix.com/support/forum/html5/editor/wishlist/does-wix-support-blogs-2#!entityId=fb29f271-ad4f-438e-bb8b-9970096afcf4.

      c) "We do not promise something that we're not absolutely certain we can keep."  This is a half-truth.  Over the summer you promised the blogging tool would be released in August.  And you DID release it -- only, it was a beta, and incomplete.  That's a half-truth, which means it's also a half-lie.  Customers appreciate full truths and zero dissembling.

      d) "Priorities are dynamic and changing according to various reasons, some can be time critical."  Customers needs are time critical also, buddy.  You give lip service to customer support but the fact remains: you have hooked us into a product that continues to be unacceptably broken.  I'm sure you will *eventually* get the problems sorted out.  I don't plan to hang around forever waiting for that day.

Sorry guys: as friendly as you are, and as committed as you SAY you are to customer support, I'm not satisfied with your answers.  And I suspect many other Wix users feel the same.  Find a new way to demonstrate your commitment.  Enough with the lip service.

      Hi Brad,

      1) Your site title is blank.

Regarding the 'broken' links, please provide us with the URLs so we can take a closer look.

      2) Please paste here the exact email you've received that contains the 'HTTP' protocol twice. Once you do, we can further investigate and forward it to the relevant department so it will be fixed.

      3) Like all projects, some meet the deadline, and some aren't. We generally do not provide ETAs for this exact reason: we cannot predict the future.

In most cases, we can evaluate the expected release date of certain features.

If we have provided an estimated release date that was too optimistic and were mistaken, I sincerely apologize for it.

      4) Wix services are on freemium basis: you can test it for as long as you like, and see if it suits your needs, and even have a fully functional site without having to purchase or provide any credit card information.

We are constantly working on new features and possibilities, while optimizing our current offerings in order to bring you the best, easiest web creation platform available.

We do appreciate and value our customers feedback, and a lot of our current features has been developed with accordance to user feedback.

Please let us know if we can further assist you,

We agree. Because of the blog issues (and that a lot of our clients can't get to our website because they run IE8 or earlier...yet WIX has built their own site with code for IE8) we are starting the process of moving to WordPress. I can't believe that an exec at WIX hasn't been informed of this issue!? If they have, shame on them.

I beg of you WIX...PLEASE acknowledge the blog issue and let us in on what is being done to correct it! (We are 2 months out from moving the site...but if the issue is fixed within 1 month we may stick around.)

    Hi guys,

I think the comment below from bradkan6 deserves careful attention from Wix Team. It is a very sensitive issue and most important than any other feature, I believe.

    Kind regards,

Yet another huge problem with the Wix blog: SEO doesn't work.  Completely non-existent and therefore useless.  Even if I do the most direct possible search for a post (my name + name of site + most important keyword), the post will not show up in a web search.  That's a total failure of the tool, Wix.

Wix, this blog feature is good-looking but ultimately unusable.  You promised this feature ages ago, and now it's almost the end of 2013 and basic functionality still is not there.  You are unable to provide quick fixes or give us a timeline for major features.  Clearly, you guys just don't have what it takes.

After endless months of hope followed by frustration, I am going to start migrating my site back to Wordpress.  It's not quite as pretty but it sure does the job.  In the meantime, I will be telling the many media professionals who I meet on a daily basis to stay well away from Wix.

If you're subscribed to your thread: think twice about why you want this blog tool.  Chances are, you're like me: you fell in love with the beauty and simplicity of the Wix website builder and wanted to migrate your blogging to the app.  But Wix has proven over the long-term that they are unable to support their own ideas and vision.   If your blog has anything to do with business or career, dump this company before they make you look bad.  Their sites look good, but at the end of the day, they just can't deliver.
