To add a blog: From the left side of the Editor, click the Add icon > click Blog.

Check out our learning center page for more information and instructions.

The blog application allows you to:

- add a blog to your Wix site

- add various kinds of posts to your blog: video, image and text

- improve your site's SEO by regularly adding new content to your site

- share your blog and posts on social networks.

**New**: We have a brand new Blog category on the Templates page!
The templates are divided into 3 categories: Business, Personal and Reviews.

Here are some features we are still working on:

- Adding multiple media items (several images, videos paragraphs) to one post (instead of only 1 image + text / 1 video + text / text that we have now).

- Preview option when editing posts in the editor.

- Built in comment system.

- Importing data from other blog platforms.

You can follow this thread for suggestions and updates about new blog features.

We also have several blog apps in the Wix App Market that you can use! You can add a  Tumblr Feed  and  Blogger Feed  to your site. Also check out the Easy SEO Blog.  Click here for more information about adding apps to your site.

Thanks, Nicole,

Is there any way to add categories to the blog/blog posts?  I'd like to be able to organize my blog in that way if possible.

I have *a lot* of links in my previous blog, & it's EXTREMELY frustrated to copy just one each time: When ever I choose text>paragraph ALL the links are copied in plain text only(!!) so I have to re-create them :-( :-(.

I demand to know on a better way how to copy them more efficiently?

I have to say that I'm extremely frustrated with the Wix implementation of any of the blog features.  If I had known it was going to be this frustrating, I, too probably would have gone someplace else.  I like the ease of use of creating the website and now I want to drive traffic there.  The best way to do that is through adding information so that search engines in their crawls are able to grab new content.

    1.  Most of the search engines are looking for keywords in the url that link to the content.   Since I want to drive traffic to my just created Wix website, I want to post my blog to places like twitter and facebook.

is not good for search and for posting to the social media sites, such as FB and twitter

is good, but it drives traffic to my blogspot, not my wix site.

One would think that instead of giving me an explanation as to why the blogger feed page uses AJAX indexing in the implementation, the smart people at Wix.com would just be able to implement this differently.  As in..."wait, this is a blog page, let me give the user an option to change the name of the url to something meaningful to search engines."

    2.  I like to use Microsoft Live Writer, so any of the other blogs that are available for implementation are useless to me.  It's the tool of ease for many bloggers.

    3.  The Wix blog is horrible.  I have three choices:  Video, Picture, and text.  One of my blogs is a how to instructional that has about 10 pictures.  How exactly would I implement this in Wix?  I'd have to write 10 different blogs, which would not be a whole lot of fun for the people visiting my site.  I cannot use Live Writer.

    4.  There is no elegant way to implement Word Press, even though WP is the most widely used blog software?  Wix can't make a deal with WP to make it available to us?

I guess I'm supposed to ask a question, so here they are?

    1.  When is Wix going to change the blog interface for blogger so that:

    a.  The url reflects the name of the blog post?

    b.  Users will be able to comment on the website hosted by Wix?

    c.  Older blog posts from Blogger could be seen by the users?

    2.  When is Wix going to change their own blog software so that it allows:

    a.  The embedding of more than one media item (videos and pictures) in a WYSIWIG interface.

    b.  Allow the user to publish a blog using MS Live Writer?

    3.  When is Wix going to be offering an elegant WP interface?

Currently we cannot provide an ETA for upcoming or planned features.

In regard to your blog SEO optimization, I noticed you have not added a tag cloud to your blog. This feature may help you improve your blog's SEO ranking. For more information about this feature, click here.

To see if Google has indexed your website, as well as the last time your site was indexed i.e. to see a cached version of your website, enter your website’s URL with the word “cache:” before it in the Google search. For example, cache:www.mydomain.com. If your website comes up, this means that Google has already indexed it.

Please note that your Wix site having been indexed is not the same as attaining a high rank according to a specific keyword phrase. Attaining a high ranking according to those keyword phrases may take time and continuous work.

If your website is not appearing in search engine results when you perform a search using specific keywords, you may need to continue the process of Search Engine Optimization. To help you get the results you want, please read out SEO Learning Center pages for tips and advice.

Please check here for more information about keywords and keyword density.

Another explanation could be that you have employed certain techniques that have dropped your website’s page rank. You can read about these techniques in detail here.

With the Wix SEO Monitoring Tool you will receive a Step by step guide to improve your site's SEO.

In addition, you can also target what your customers are searching for and it will help your site to get found on Google.

You may also consider using Google Webmaster Tools to help you in the optimization process.

In regard to your request concerning Wordpress, you may link your WP blog to your Wix site by using HTML iFrame!

When I try to add a URL to a video in the BLOG EDITOR as soon as I click outside the field where you place the URL, it defaults back to the SAMPLE YOUTUBE URL that was already in the field. What do I need to do to make this feature work on my site?

    • Or Y Wix Team

      Replied by Or Y April 24, 2014

I'm afraid the issue has not been clarified enough. I have visited your blog page and was successfully able to load the youtube URLs, while clicking around the links nothing happened.

Please elaborate as to the step-by-step process you have executed before reaching a dead end.

I have both an internal blog and have added "Blogger" to my wix.com site; the goal feed it through "networkedblogs." However each time I provide the URLs I got the following message (from networkedblogs) "We tried to process your feed but it seems to be formatted incorrectly. This is the error we encountered, please pass it along to your Web admin:<unknown>:90:393: not well-formed (invalid token)." Any ideas on how to make it work? Thanks!

      Thanks for contacting Wix support.

We are not familiar with the "networkedblogs" service, therefore we do not know whether or not they support the Wix blog configuration.

I would advise to contact their support team and ask them regarding this issue.

Is there anyway to remove the list of tags at the bottom of a blog post?

    • bgerar9

      Replied by bgerar9 March 22, 2014

Also, can you remove the date from the blog post - both the article and the "teaser" on the blog elements?  If you are writing about an event in the future, it is confusing to see a past date on there, it reads like it is in the past.  I know you are trying to date the article as it was written, but a choice would be great.

    • Niv Wix Team

Replied by Niv March 22, 2014

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to remove the tags at the bottom of the blog, however you can click on it within the editor-->Customize Fonts and set the color to be the same as the background, so it will be invisible. You can also do this for your dates, but instead of Customize Fonts, click on Customize Dates.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

      Kind regards,

      Niv, Wix Support
