Yes! You can use your Wordpress blog with Wix by connecting your blog to a subdomain (ex: blog.yourdomain.com). For information about connecting your blog to a subdomain, please visit the Wordpress page here and follow the instructions.

If you would like to add a blog directly to your Wix site, you can use the Wix Blog!

We also have two blog apps available for you to use: Tumblr Feed and Blogger Feed. You can find these apps in the Wix App Market.

Connecting a wordpress subdomain to wix

I would like some help. I'm trying but I get lost. It seems like I'm missing something. I would like to have WP in my Wix site but cannot manage to incorporate the blog page.

Is Wordpress installed on a subdomain compatible with Wix

    Hi,

I have a wix site and wordpress installed on a subdomain on my server. When I visit the link - blog.mydomain.com - my Wordpress site does not appear. Instead I receive a message from Wix asking if I am trying to connect my site with Wix. I also tried installing my blog on a directory on my server - mydomain.com/blog - but again the Wordpress blog was not visible. This pertains to Wordpress.org installation on the server, and not a Wordpress.com blog. Please assist.

      Hi Mascha,

Thanks. The above link refers to wordpress.com - my Wordpress blog is installed on my server as stated, and is not hosted by Wordpress. Would hosting my Wordpress blog on a separate server ensure that the blog is visible and is not blocked in any way by Wix?

      Hi,

You cannot install any CMS on WIX, as we do only host WIX sites.

We are sorry for the inconvenience. You can however, use the blog option as instructed above.

      Best, Ritti

Would it still be problematic if we hosted our CMS on a subdomain on a separate server?

You can host your CMS services on another web host.

Please check the requirements of this service prior to hosting it elsewhere:

Ex: what domain records does it require? if needed, how it is integrated to a website?

      Please let us know,

      Elia - Wix Support

You say "You can use your Wordpress blog with Wix by connecting your blog to a subdomain (ex: blog.yourdomain.com)."  I understand how to connect my Wordpress blog to a subdomain of my Wix domain. But what do I do then? How do I get it into my Wix site?

      Hi Myra,

You can currently transfer only domains with the following extensions: .com, .org, .net, .biz. and .info.

You can transfer your domain from another registrar to your Wix account. To transfer your domain, verify that at least 60 days have passed since your registered or last transferred your domain and make sure that your domain is unlocked.

For more information please click here.

      Thanks,

      Mascha, Support-Team Wix

    Hi Wix

We LOVE our new website with you but are struggling with the blog feature. We are used to being able to upload lots and lots of photo's - but your blog facility only allows one photo! Anything that can be done before we move our blog to Wordpress?
    Many thanks

    Hello -

I am helping a friend build a website with a blog feed.  For her needs she would like the feed linked to a blog following site called BlogLovin.  First of all, is this possible? And if so does she need to upgrade to a premium site and use her own domain?

    Any help would be appreciated.

      Hello,

      There are 2 options.

      1) Adding an app- You can check out all of the apps in the Wix Apps Market. Click on the image below to browse through the apps.

You can also find information about many of the apps here.

In order to find all apps in the HTML editor, click on the App Market tab on the left side inside your editor.

      2) Creating a button and linking it to the external site.

To add a link in your document, please follow these steps:

      1. Choose the object, picture, button that you want.
      2. Simply select it and choose the "Link to" option from the Settings window.
      3. Choose Web Address.
      4. Fill in the space with your external URL and click on the OK button.

You can find more information about linking here.

      -

Connecting a domain is a premium feature. You can find all the information regarding the premium packages here

I hope this answers your question. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us :)

Actually, it's possible to convert the WIX pages to WP. I think it's better solution if you want your users to login to your site one time, i used cms2cms converter to transfer my pages, but separately I use wix for posting more interactive content

      Hey,

You can embed the URL of your wordpress blog into a page of your Wix site by using the HTML app (Iframe option)

      What is the HTML App?

    Hi,

Will connecting the blog to a subdomain boost SEO for the website itself? Or will this subdomain be treated as a completely different website?

      Hey,

In general the subdomain is treated as a different website.. However having a good ranking for your subdomain can affect the SEO of the top level domain (meaning main site)
