An A or address record is a DNS record that can be used to point your domain name and host names to a static IP address. You can add or update your A records from the Domains page of your Wix account.

To add or update an A record: Sign in to your Wix account > from the top menu, hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > under My Domains, next to the relevant domain, click Manage.

Under Domain Summary, select the Advanced tab > next to DNS Records, click Manage > next to A (Host), click Add a new A record to add or click the pencil icon to edit > enter the information in the pop-up window > click Save.

Note: If your domain is connected to your Wix site via Pointing, your domain host is in control of your A records.

    Hi,

    I have the domain kcom.co.il

    I updated the ns to ns1.wix.com, ns2.wix.com,

but still when I'm trying to configure things in Wix, I get some A Records old configurations.

I've asked the ISOC (http://www.isoc.org.il/index_eng.html) to update the A records, and they told me that WIX should do that.

Is this true ? Who should do this settings ? I can't find in their management site the A Records numbers

I removed the A records from DNS configuration,

      And still:

      1. Can't verify the kcom.co.il

      2. The forward to kcom.co.il is still going to the old hosting

Who are you trying to verify the site with? I can see your domain name is now connected correctly. Please contact your domain host to clarify this issue.

      Hi,

      The A records is: 216.185.152.157

Please Note: Wix does NOT Recommend Pointing
Instead we recommend connecting your domain to Wix using Wix name servers.

DNS is the management of your domain – i.e. you use it anytime you point your domain to an IP address, redirect emails to your email host or connect different subdomains to different servers.
Pointing your domain to the Wix IP means that your domain host retains control of your DNS and simply points your domain to the Wix servers.
The difference between pointing to the Wix IP or connecting with name servers is really a difference in who has control over your DNS – Wix or your domain host.

The primary reason we recommend connecting your domain to Wix using Wix name servers is that the Wix IP address might change in order to prevent your site from going down. This happens from time to time when natural disasters, server problem and other problems occur.
In such events, domains connected to Wix by name servers will automatically have their DNS records updated. However, domains that are connected to Wix by IP pointing will not work until you request the new IP# from us and then manually make the changes with your domain host. This will result in a much longer down time.

To connect your site to a domain please visit our Domain Portal

Hi, my domain provider needs your A record in order to point just the website over and not my email too.

Please kindly provide your "A" record to, justinho4731@gmail.com or joslyn.qi@gmail.com

In order to see the IP address you need to point your domain name to and read the specific instructions on how to point your domain name please go here.

For more information on connecting your domain name to Wix please go here.

If you have a personalized email account (such as mail@mywebsite.com) before connecting to Wix, you need to make sure your records are updated in accordance to how your domain is connected (pointing or nameserver).

      1.  If your domain is pointed to Wix by IP- Please contact your domain hosting company and ask them to remove the MX records that point to Wix.

      2.  If you are connected via Nameservers - Please ask your email hosting company what records need to be added and update them in the Domain Manager within your Wix account.  In the Domain Manager, you can add MX records, A records, CNAME records and TXT records. For more info about how to update these records, follow this link.

If you find that your personal email address has not been working correctly since you connected your domain – it is recommended that you check if you have followed the steps as above correctly before contacting support at premium@wix.com

    Hi chatonjolie,

Please note that the difference is in the connection, you cannot connect via pointing to:

    ns1.wix.com

    ns2.wix.com

This method is called connect by DNS:

    To resolve:

    1. Please contact your domain host (network solutions) and ask them to connect to Wix DNS:

    ns1.wix.com

    ns2.wix.com

    2. I have made the changes in Wix, so as soon as your host makes the changes, your domain will be connected properly. Can take up to 72 hours.

As you can see here, the DNS are incorrect.

    Domain servers in listed order:

       NS31.WORLDNIC.COM            205.178.190.16
       NS32.WORLDNIC.COM            206.188.198.16

I am having trouble locating the "Domain Manager" area where I can point the A Record to 216.185.152.150 (as was instructed to me by the troubleshooting area of wix). I already updated my account with network solutions to point to ns1.wix.com and ns2.wix.com but when I type in the domain it says "cannot connect to server". Wix says I need to fix something in my records through the troubleshooting link I clicked on.

I keep reading that it is located under "Manage Premium" ---> "Domain" tab, but once there, I am not able to actually click on the domain. I can click "manage", but all that comes up is a "Domain Summary". There is nowhere for me to click that takes me to an area I can access the records. Am I in the wrong area? Please advise.

Hi, recently I transfer my domain from powweb to wix, so now my email is not working properly. I tried pointing and uptading the mx records but all that has been useless. First Powweb told this: point the mx record to mx.ipage.com, which I did two days ago and nothing happend and now they are telling me this: contact your external name server provider and update the MX record IP's to 65.254.____ , 65.254.____ and 65.254.____ . I believe that everything is in order because I already did what they told me to (like 4 hours ago). Is there a way that a wix team member can help me by checking my settings and let me know if there´s something wrong this?. HELP please!.
