You can purchase your domain directly from Wix! When purchasing a domain from Wix, your new Wix domain will be automatically connected to the Wix servers. Connecting a domain to your Wix site has never been easier!

 

To connect a domain, purchased from Wix, to your site: Sign in to your Wix account > from the top menu, hover over Subscriptions > click Domains.

Next to the relevant domain, click Manage > under Domain Connects To:, click Change > select a site > click Save.

 

Note: Connecting your own domain to your Wix site (whether purchased from Wix or another domain host) is a premium feature and therefore you will need to upgrade to a premium plan before doing so.

      Hi,

      I checked your Wix account and I saw your domain name: stelmodelibethesda.com was canceled.

       

      Wix will send you a notification email two weeks before the renewal of your domain name so that you can decide if they would like to continue or not. Please check all mail folders including spam folders as often this message can get filtered out.

      If the initial payment attempt fails, your domain name will expire on the anniversary of your original payment and your Wix site will not be accessible through the domain name.

      Although the domain name will be expired, the Wix domain subscription will still remain active and our system will continue to attempt the payment.

       

       

      If a payment is made successfully within the 30 day grace period, your domain name will be reactivated.

       

      If payment isn’t made within the 30 day grace period, your domain name will be cancelled and will enter a redemption period lasting approximately 35 days.

      The redemption period is designed to give domain owners one last chance to retain their domain name before it becomes publicly available, however the cost of retrieving a domain during the redemption period is high ($250).

      We advise that users try to resolve payment issues before the domain enters the Redemption period.

       

      You can also wait 70 days from the moment your domain has expired and repurchase the domain again trough Wix.

    Hello! I thought I already had purchased a Premium Domain Package, although I am getting the impression I did not. What is the price for the Premium Package that will allow me to connect my domain name? I apologize, I am completely confused by this. I was hoping to have this up today.

      You have purchases a domain, however you have not purchased a premium plan.

    My yearly domain expired last month. I paid it a few days ago. But now my website doesn't show up? It says "this site used to be connected to wix"?

      Please be aware that I have viewed your Wix site at arroyoland.com without issue, and have verified that your domain registration is up to date.

       

      While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.


      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.

       

      It may take up to 72 hours for the changes to your DNS records to propagate. If after that period, and after following the steps below, you are unable to view your Wix site at your domain, please let us know.

    Hello, 

    I purchased a domain when upgrading to the Connect Domain (most basic) premium upgrade, I had already made a free site through wix (www.tiffanyapril3.wix.com/tiffanyapril) and wanted to connect my domain name to this site. Everything shows up in the domain manager section, my domain name (tiffanyapril.com) is there but says it is connected to N/A. When I hit the 'change' button no sites appear in the selection box for me to highlight as a connection option. 

    I have published my site online (at least 72 hrs ago) and it is currently live, yet it still doesn't seem to be appearing in the 'change' box. 
    Any suggestions on what might be amiss?

      Please notice that connecting a domain to your Wix site is a premium feature, meaning you must purchase a Premium plan in order to do so.

      To upgrade your site: Sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > next to the relevant site, click Upgrade.

    Hi there,

    I was wondering if I can use a secondary domain to conect through to a specific page on my primary domain?

    I have www.lifecarecbd.com, in that I have a profile of a worker. I was wondering if I could use www.davetaylorphysio.com (purchased through wix) to connect to http://www.lifecarecbd.com/#!dave/cquf

    the bio page for Dave?

      Hi Dean,

      You can add a subdomain if you like, which will point to a different site.

      Subdomains are used to connect the same domain to resources on two different servers. For example, if you have a domain - www.domainexample.com - pointed to your Wix site, you may also want to create a subdomain - blog.yourdomain.com - which would point to where your blog is hosted.

      To add a subdomain: Sign in to your Wix account > from the menu at the top, hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > click Use a Domain You Already Own > click Connect your domain to Wix but keep your current registrar.

      Under Connecting your own domain, fill in the subdomain information, select the relevant site and select your registrar  > click Next.

       

      Once you have added the subdomain to your account, you will need to add the following DNS records for the primary domain.

      A (Host) record for examplesubdomain.mydomain.com

      CNAME (Aliases) record www.examplesubdomain.mydomain.com

      CNAME (Aliases) record for m.examplesubdomain.mydomain.com

       

      To add DNS records: Under My Domains, next to the relevant domain, click Manage.

      Under Domain Summary, select the Advanced tab > next to DNS Records, click Manage > add or edit your records according to your requirements.

      To remove Wix from your website address you will need to purchase your own domain.

      You can do it directly at Wix, as explained in the Best Reply of this thread.

       

      Plase note that connecting your own domain to your Wix site is a premium feature and therefore you will need to upgrade to a premium plan before doing so.

      If you purchased a Yearly Wix premium plan (Combo, Unlimited, or eCommerce), you are eligible to receive a free domain name for one year.

    I already went through all the standard instructions and nothing works. Here is the screenshot that I took when I check the connection

    Maybe a telephone support person that would guide me through the process could be helpful instead of email?

    I can't change my domain. Something isn't working right. I bought my premium account and it says it's connected but it's not. Many people have tried this and it's not working and I followed all the steps I could find. Please help!

    Hi, I'm trying to connect my newly purchased domain name to my newly upgraded Premium Site. I no longer want to use my original domain name and want to use only the new domain name with the Premium Site. But every time I try to remove the connection of my original domain name, it doesn't stick, and if I try to change the domain the premium site is connected to, my new domain name does not appear in the drop down list when I select "change my package to another domain name". Please help!

      Hello again - I have managed to connect my new domain url to my premium suite site and overwritten the domain name so that the new domain is used with the premium site. However, the old domain is still referenced as the 'name' of the premium site which is now inaccurate and I am concerned it will affect SEO results. Please assist me to disassociate my new domain and premium site package with the old domain name which is no longer required. Thank you in advance.

      Hi,

       

      I can see that your current domain is brilliantbalconies.com and that your site's name is thebalconygardener. Your site's name is for your own use, and does not affect your site's SEO. The thing that does affect SEO is the site's title (which you can change within the editor).

       

      To change your site name: Sign in to your Wix account > click My Sites > next to the relevant site, click Manage Site > on the right, under Handy Shortcuts, click Show More > click Rename.

    My site doesn't connect to my domain
