Wix employees: the offer still still stands.
Others reading this thread: you may draw your own conclusions about their seriousness in fixing this.
Replied by elizabethjburns 12 hours agoPage Address
I for some reason am experiencing issues with my website page addresses. For example, the address I put into my about page I would type "about" so that the address would be "www.elizabethjburns.com/about" but instead additional text is showing up - "http://www.elizabethjburns.com/#!about/c10fk" when it should not.
How might I fix this please?

How can I simplify a URL for a page in my website? For example, one of my pages is http://www.gofirewire.com/#!additional-photo-services/c2hr. Why can't it just be www.gofirewire.com/additional-photo-services?
Replied by ruthjoyceart YesterdayHow can I tidy up my website URL links?
I recently wanted to share and promote my website blog on Twitter, but the full address is http://www.ruthjoyce.com/#!blog-of-illustrations/c2145 - a few people have said it looks a bit weird with the random numbers and letters at the end of each URL. How can I tidy up the URL links so they are cleaner, and just say eg ruthjoyce.com/about-ruth-joyce or ruthjoyce.com/blog-of-illustrations?

Good luck in trying to get an answer to when WIX will solve the "Ugly URL Problem". I have tried numerous times to get an answer with a definitive date and all I get is "We're working on it."
I have also suggested that instead of spending millions on TV advertising, they spend some money on fixing this terrible problem, but no response from management.
Since I cannot get a definitive answer, I for one, will not be using WIX for an new client projects. And I will be slowly switching the four hosted domain names to other products that have solved this problem.

I understand that it is currently not possible to get a professional looking URL from Wix.
I see that you´re saying that you´re busy with this subject! CAn you give us a time frame - more or less when you think this feature will be available - IF at all?
I bought my package a few days ago and am considering stepping out of the contract making use of the 2 week -money back- guarantee.
Where is this matter on your priority list? Are we talking weeks, months, years?
I think it would be fair to warn future wix customers of this issue BEFORE they buy the packages. The whole issue of upgrading from something like a blog to a website you pay for is to have an URL that looks professional - if this basic fact is not given it´s such a huge disappointment!
Also , in my case when I google myself now, on other computers I have just 1 single entry that comes up - in contrast to 10+ before I switched to Wix - so I gained gibberish URLs and lost google entries.

This is just ridiculous. I agree with previous users that had I known this before I would use different providers for my premium account. Fine about the AJAX technology but the issue is that the whole link looks unprofessional, difficult for anyone to memorise and rather inconvenient when used for personal pages, bios etc. WIX fix this SOON, so many unsatisfied customers!
