If one of your domains was purchased from Wix, you can connect two domain names (URLs) to your Wix site in the Wix Domain Manager by redirecting the domain name that was purchased from Wix to your primary domain.

If all of your domains are from other hosts, you can only connect one domain in the Wix domain manager, but you can redirect your other domains to the connected domain by contacting your host.

For detailed instructions on both of these methods, click here and scroll down to the "Can I connect more than one domain to the same Wix site?" question.

What is the difference between “Using the Wix Name Servers"  & "Redirecting a Domain" to Wix?
Often, the place where we buy our domain names (URLs) is NOT the same place as where we design and store our website.

When connecting your domain to your Wix site using name servers, the domain name stays at your hosting company and connects to the Wix servers. Connecting to our name servers transfers control of your domain records to Wix.
Redirecting your domain, also know as domain forwarding or domain transfer, would mean that you transfer the domain name from your current registrar to another one. For example, Wix would take over hosting your domain name as well as your website. Wix does not offer this service.

I can see that the domain is indeed pointing now to your non-wix site, which is up and running.

You can now connect two domain names (URLs) to one Wix site through the Wix domain manager.

In order to connect an additional domain (up to three) to your current domain, please make sure to add the new domain to your account as well (use the "already have a domain" link). Once the domains are listed in your domain manager, please follow these instructions:

Step 1: Decide which domain address is your primary one (www.domain.com).  The other domain address (www.domain2.com) will be your secondary.

Step 2: Connect your primary domain to Wix.
For instructions on connecting your domain to Wix, please follow this link.

If you have a Wix Domain please follow the instructions here.

Step 3: Once you have connected your primary domain to your Wix site, go to My Account, next to Manage Premium, click Domains > select your secondary domain from the list > Basic .
Next to ‘Wix Site’ click on ‘Change’.

In the pop-up window select ‘To another domain name’, select your primary domain from the drop down menu and click on ‘Save’.

Your domain name is now redirected ! You will be able to see this under the Domain Summary.

      Notes:
      * If your primary domain name is not connected to Wix correctly, the redirection will not work.
You will receive an error message. In this case, please make sure to follow the instructions in step 2.

      Hi,

If you have purchased a Wix domain, but have decided to transfer it away from Wix, you can do so easily from the Wix Domain Manager.

To transfer your Wix domain from Wix:

      1. From your Domain Manager, under My Domains, next to your Wix domain, click Manage.

      2. Under Domain Summary, click the Advanced tab.

      3. Next to Transfer away from Wix, click Transfer (please make sure to turn off Private Registration if it is on).

      4. In the Transfer window, click Send.

      5. An email with a code will be sent to you. Forward this code to your new domain registrar.
You may not receive the email immediately, but you can expect to receive it on the same day.

Your Wix domain is transferred from Wix

Important notice: In accordance with ICANN rules, you cannot transfer your domain to another provider until 60 days after you register or transfer your domain.

      Just to be clear,

A redirect my domain to wix via nameservers and:

      1. My wix adress will become www.my domain name

      2. I will still have full cpanel access to my email and sub-domains at zuver

      3. I will still be able to maintain my websites on my sub-domains at zuver

      Is this correct?

Replied by Alina April 6, 2014

      Hey,

After you upgrade your free site to one of our premium plans, you will be able to connect your own domains to your site. The address will be www.mydomain.com

All the domains will be hosted by Zuver. If you choose to connect your domain by using the DNS method, you will have the cpanel access from Zuver but your DNS records will be managed by Wix.

Here you can find more information about it - What is the difference between connecting using Wix IP and connect with name servers?

      Thanks,

      1. When i enter my web address: www.yhyw.com.au, i get redirected to http://yhyw96.wix.com/yhyw.  Why is the URL of my website not coming up in my browser as www.yhyw.com.au

OK, i refreshed cache and URL is fine....WAS fine

it now opens up the index of /:    - obviously back with Zuver

      SEO has been a nightmare:

      1. HTML verification is not working

      2. I tried CNAME - however i did this with ZUVER.com and it verified

      3. I removed the CNAME record from zuver and placed it with wix

      4. Now I cannot access my website
