If you have purchased a domain from Wix, it is possible to transfer it to another domain host, if necessary.

To transfer a Wix domain: Sign in to your Wix account > from the top menu, hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > click Manage next to the relevant domain.

Under Domain Summary, click the Advanced tab > on the right, click Transfer away from Wix > click Send.

 

An email code will be sent to your email address. This code should be forwarded to your new domain host.

 

Note: In accordance with ICANN rules, you will only be able to transfer your domain 60 days after purchasing it from Wix.

 

Note: If you were referring to a non-Wix Domain which you connected to your Wix site, you will need to contact your domain host for assistance with disconnecting your domain from Wix.

    I had a domain http://www.businessbrokerstoday.com through wix pointing to one of my websites. I deleted the website and domain and then they restored the website but not the domain.  What do I need to do to get the domain restored?

    Hello,

    I have removed my website because I have my website designed by a graphics company. But now I do not know if my domain to wix automatically deleted itself? It is important to know it. Because I can not follow the above steps, i dont have that possibilitie.

    Hello, I'm tryin to transfer a domain away from Wix for a client but it's saying I need to wait 60 days, I just don't have that kind of time & neither does my client, can someone please help me transfer the domain today!

      Hi,

       

      Unfortunately it is not possible to transfer a domain during the initial 60 day period after registering the domain. This is in accordance with the regulations established by ICANN (the domain regulatory body), and cannot be circumvented by Wix. This limitation applies to both incoming (to Wix) and outgoing (away from Wix) transfers.
       
      Please note that in the meantime you can point your domain away from Wix. To point your domain to a different IP address, you will need to modify the domain's A records. You will need to contact your new host and request for the relevant IP address. For more information about how to edit your A records, click here.

    I have no "transfer away" link. Please advise. The domain is currently inactive- I suspect that is why.

      Hi,

      This is because your domains are not at hosted at WIX.

      Both of your domains belong to GoDaddy.

    Hi,

     

    I am following the video and when i go to my account i there is no tab that says my domains. additionally i didnt buy the domain in wix, i bought it in godaddy and transferred to wix and now i want to transfer it back.

      You have one domain in your wix account, if you wish to transfer that domain, please follow the instructions provided in the best reply in order for your to transfer your domain away from Wix.

    For step by step instructions on how to transfer a Wix domain away from Wix, click here. Please note that you will only be able to transfer your domain 60 days after you purchase it from Wix. In accordance with ICANN rules, there is a mandatory 60-day waiting period between registering your domain and transferring it.

    Domian transfer

    Hi,

     

    I am trying to transfer back my domain to godaddy. to do this i need an authorization code. I have called godaddy and they told me i need to get it from the register. Apparently when you transfer a domian to wix it gets register in networksolutions.com and i need to ask for the authorization code from them. I never created an account there. so now i am wondering how can we work this out.

    How do I change my domain name servers?

    I would like them to be changed to:

    DNS1: ns-uk.1and1-dns.co.uk

    DNS2: ns-uk.1and1-dns.biz

    DNS3: ns-uk.1and1-dns.com

    DNS4: ns-uk.1and1-dns.org

      Hi,

      I checked your Wix account and I saw your domain was not purchases through Wix, but simply pointing to Wix name servers.

       

      To disconnect your domain from your Wix site, please ask your hosting company not to point your domain to the Wix IP address or disconnect it from the Wix Name Servers (NS1.WIX.COM and NS2.WIX.COM).

    Hello,

    I initiated a domain transfer away from wix a few days ago. I input the transfer code with my new registrar. Can you tell me if this has occurred on your end as nothing appears to be happening.

      Please hold for 7 days for the changes to fully propagate. This is the standard time it takes for domain transfer processes to be finalized.

      Hello,

      The domain has still not transferred. My chosen registrar is now saying the transfer was not authorised even though I have an email from Wix containing an authorisation code, which I used. Can you please advise whats happening on your end?

      Hi,

       

       

      Your domain appears in your domain list with the status Pending Verification.

       

      Note that during this process a few important emails will be sent to the email address that you had indicated when signing up with your old registrar. 

       

      It may take up to 24 hours for Wix to verify your domain transfer.

       

      After Wix verifies your transfer, you will get an email from your current registrar approving your transfer request. Your domain status will then change to Pending Registry Approval

       

      Verify that the email address for the domain admin/registrant is your own email address, as we will send a confirmation email to that address once the transfer is initiated. This email will expire after 5 days, so we recommend that you confirm the domain transfer as soon as possible.You can check your domain admin/registrant e-mail address(es) via the WHOIS database here.

       

      You'll receive an email from support@wix.com, asking you to confirm your transfer request. The subject of the email is "DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER - Initial Authorization for Registrar". You must open this email (check your spam folder) and click Confirm within 5 days after the transfer request. If you do not confirm the email, the transfer process cannot be completed.

       

      It may take up to seven days for the Registry to approve your transfer.

    It has been over 60 days and when I go through the steps to transfer my domain away from wix, the option to "transfer away from wix" is not there. The instrusctions below are the ones I followed.

     

    Under Domain Summary, click the Advanced tab > on the right, click Transfer away from Wix > click Send.

      Hello,

       

      Please make sure you are trying to transfer your domain miparola.com away from Wix. Your other domain, backinternational.com, is connected via DNS and is transferable from your original host.

       

      In case the issue persists, please add a screenshot of the problem, since on my end this option is displayed in the domain records.
