*This feature has not yet been released to all users.*

You can currently only transfer domains with the following extensions: .com, .org, .net, .biz, .info, .co, .tv, .guru, .email, .expert.

You can transfer your domain from another registrar to your Wix account. To transfer your domain, please verify that at least 60 days have passed since you registered or last transferred your domain and make sure that your domain is unlocked.

For more information please click here.

After a domain transfer is successful, your computer/browser might still be directed to the old site when you try to access the domain.

This normally resolves itself after several days depending on the router/browser settings but in order to fix this immediately you should clear your browsers cache and flush the DNS.

Note: Transferring your domain to Wix is not the same as connecting your domain to your Wix site. If you would like to keep your domain with your current domain host, but connect the domain to your Wix site, please click here to learn more.

Thanks, Nicole,

Please advise if I can have my own internet service provider host my website here in South Africa and if this is possible how can I do this. I have my own domain name and currently it is pointing to the wix website. When I follow the best reply instruction it does not show an option under the advanced tab to transfer the website to a new host.
    Thanks.

can you guys please assist I have asked my old domain host to transfer to wix and this is the email i received

    Hello Nokukhanya,

    Thank you for your email.

We would be happy to change your nameservers to your domain however, before we do this, we would like you to understand that once your nameservers have been changed your Yola mail will stop working. You would then need to contact your new host and ask them to add these records to your domain on their end:

    MX record:
    Value: mx.yourdomain.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com

    CNAME record:
    Name: mail
    Value: mail.yourdomain.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com

If you would still like us to point your domain away, please let me know and I would be happy to do this for you.

      Hi,

If you choose to point your domain to Wix name servers, you will need to connect your email as well.

After you connect your domain, you will be able to connect the email by adding the records your domain host provided you.

In order to point the domain to Wix name servers, please send your domain provide the following message:

I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their name servers- NS1.WIX.COM (IP address 216.139.213.90) and NS2.WIX.COM (IP address 95.211.144.195).

To connect your site to a domain please visit our Domain Portal .

If you have a personalized email account with your domain (such as mail@mywebsite.com), you will need to update your domain records in the Wix Domain Manager after connecting your domain to Wix. You will need to update these records so that your emails can be redirected back to your email host.

      • If your domain is connected to your Wix site with nameservers:

Please add the records to the Wix Domain Manager (My Account > Domains). In the Wix Domain Manager, you can add MX records, A records,  CNAME records and TXT records. For more information about selecting an email provider and updating your domain records, click here.

      Hi hello319,

Please see the best reply of this thread to learn the types of the domains that Wix accept for incoming transfer.

You can instead connect your domain to Wix site without transferring it. You can find details about connecting domain here.

I'm assuming you're trying to point your domain to a non Wix site.

Please provide us the A record you wish to add so we'll be able to further assist.

Hi, I'm trying to transfer a domain from Network Solutions over to Wix, but keep having trouble.  The domain is pellettieriassoc.com.  I've done all the steps Wix requested, including:

    - it is .com domain

    - privacy protection is turned off

    - email address is verified / correct

    - domain is older than 60 days and has not been transferred in the past.

    - domain is UNLOCKED

    - I have a premium account with Wix (monthly unlimited plan)

I've verified all of the above with Network Solutions, and even got an authorization code from them.  However, when I go to Wix -> "connect domain" -> "Use a domain you already own" and try to start the transfer process, I get this error message that says"
    "Domain Unavailable to Transfer

Domain transfer request not available from your registrar."

I don't think there is anything else I can do on Network Solutions side to prepare the domain for the transfer.  I'm starting to think the problem is on Wix's side.... please advise!

    Thank you,

    Graham Pellettieri

      Hi Ritti,

Thanks for the reply and information.  I adjusted the DNS settings so the domain now points to the my Wix site and it is working.  However, in the long run, I would still like to transfer my domain from Network Solutions over to Wix (so I can cancel my NS account).  I upgraded my Wix plan to Unlimited-yearly today, which is listed as one of the premium plans that supports using your own domain.  BUT, when I tried to finish the transfer process again today after the upgrade, by going to Wix -> "connect domain" -> "Use a domain you already own" I'm still getting the same error message that says:

      "Domain Unavailable to Transfer

Domain transfer request not available from your registrar."

I see that you wrote that transferring your domain to Wix is a feature that is not available for all users yet*.  But this is a .com domain, so does that mean it IS eligible?  With the plan I'm on (Unlimited - Yearly), is a domain transfer possible for me?

If not, when do you expect this will become available for all users?

      Thanks,

      Graham

      Hi Graham,

Before transferring your domain to Wix, make sure:

      1) The domain suffix you are using is supported.

Currently, you can transfer domains with the following extensions: .com, .org, .net, .biz. and .info.

      2) Your domain is not protected by privacy (if you purchased privacy protection, you need to disable it for the duration of the transfer)

You can check with your current domain host

      3) The email address for the domain admin/registrant is your own email address, since we will send a confirmation email to that address once the transfer is initiated.

You can check the email address associated with your domain in the domain settings of your current host, or perform Whois check.

      4) Your domain is older than 60 days

For more information on how to transfer a domain to Wix please click here

We are here should you require further assistance

      Many thanks, Barrios
