The default payment plan for Wix domain subscriptions is autorenewal. If your domain is on a yearly renewal cycle, the payment will be attempted two days before the anniversary of your original payment. If the initial payment attempt fails, your domain name will expire on the anniversary of your original payment and your Wix site will no longer be accessible through the domain name.
 

Even though the domain name will have expired, the Wix domain subscription will remain active and our system will continue to attempt to collect payment. If payment is made successfully within the 30 day grace period, your domain name will be reactivated.

 

If payment is not made within the 30 day grace period, your domain name will be cancelled and will enter a redemption period lasting approximately 35 days. The redemption period is designed to give domain owners one last chance to retain their domain name before it becomes publicly available, however the cost of retrieving a domain during the redemption period is high ($250).

 

We strongly advise that users try to resolve payment issues before the domain enters the redemption period.

    Hi,

    I had some payment issue due to credit number change.

    I have fix it and bout again the premuim package.

    it says I deserve a 1 year domain for free.

    can I use the same domain?

    or I need to pay for this domain?

      Hi,

      Unfortunately the domain voucher can't be applied to domain renewals, however you can use the voucher to buy any available domain name.

    Further to my last enquiry. My site is not a Wix document. I created it elsewhere but I had bought the domain from Wix. I want to connect my site, (created outside of Wix) to my Wix domain.

      You can connect your Wix domain to your other site using pointing.
      To point your domain to a different IP address, you will need to modify the domain's A records. You will need to contact your new host and request for the relevant IP address. For more information about how to edit your A records, click here.

    My Wix domain expired after my bank details changed. I have now paid for one more year from a new account but the site is still not back up.

      Hi,

       

      I can see that you have paid for renewing your Wix domain. However, you did not purchase a premium package which allows you to connect your domain name to your Wix document.

       
      Once you are done creating your Wix document, you may connect your own domain (for example www.mydomain.com). You will need to upgrade your site to one of our Premium packages that allow for this service.

    I need to renew my domain, but am unsure of the payments amounts.  The 3 yearly term is $38.85, is this per month for 3 years or for the total of 3 years?

      Unfortunately, your premium package has been cancelled due to payment problems. Once a package is cancelled, it is impossible to update your payment method for it, and you will need to purchase a new package.

      I was wondering if you could please check access from your side, even after clearing the cache and internet history, the page still comes up with "the domain is expired".

      I checked your domain and I can see that it is up and running. 

       

      If you are still experiencing this problem, try the following: 
      1) Try another browser such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9 and Mozilla Firefox. 
      2) Try another computer and different internet network connections.

       

      Please let us know if you were able to recreate the problem when trying the suggestions above (In regards to browsers, please include the version of browser you tested.)

    Hello,

    I was not aware that payments for account renewal were made 2 days before the renewal date.  Funds were not available at the time for automatic renewal and now my Wix account is showing "payment incomplete". The funds are now available.  When will you retry in order to renew my account?

      The yearly auto-renewal can’t be processed as the credit card number on file has expired.


      To change your credit card details:

      1. Sign into Wix.com.
      2. Click My Account.
      3. From My Account, next to Manage Premium, click Billing and Payment.
      4. Next to your package, click Manage.
      5. Next to Payment method, click Update Payment Method.
      6. From the Update Billing Details window that opens, update your credit card details. Click OK.

      It is important to enter the credit card number without any spaces.

      Note: You can use multiple credit cards for Premium Upgrades and change them at any time.
