The default payment plan for Wix domain subscriptions is autorenewal. If your domain is on a yearly renewal cycle, the payment will be attempted two days before the anniversary of your original payment. If the initial payment attempt fails, your domain name will expire on the anniversary of your original payment and your Wix site will no longer be accessible through the domain name.
 

Even though the domain name will have expired, the Wix domain subscription will remain active and our system will continue to attempt to collect payment. If payment is made successfully within the 30 day grace period, your domain name will be reactivated.

 

If payment is not made within the 30 day grace period, your domain name will be cancelled and will enter a redemption period lasting approximately 35 days. The redemption period is designed to give domain owners one last chance to retain their domain name before it becomes publicly available, however the cost of retrieving a domain during the redemption period is high ($250).

 

We strongly advise that users try to resolve payment issues before the domain enters the redemption period.

    I am not entirely sure what happened to a domain I owned - liveingranbury.com , under 'Live in Granbury.' Can you check on what happened to it for me? I'm not sure who else to contact other than this thread.

      I can see that your premium package has been cancelled due to payment issues. In order to reinstate you premium features you just need to upgrade your site again.
       
      To upgrade your site, please go to My Account > click Upgrade your site under the site you want to upgrade.
       
      You can find all the information regarding the premium packages here.
       
      Please note that we never remove/destroy websites.  If you go back from premium to free you’ll simply have your original Web address and Wix ads but you will still have full control of your site.

    Hi, I have switched bank accounts recently and I guess the renewal failed, I go to update the information with my new card and it says "This purchase failed due to the following reason: This transaction has been declined"

    Can you check what is going on here please? my account email is under giganticj12@yahoo.com url i have is http://www.chicotc.com

      The payment was not for the domain, it was for the premium upgrade. Cancelled packages cannot be renewed, simply make a new purchase instead.

      Maybe I am not doing this correctly?

      I am clicking on manage/edit site, then Site actions: connect domain, I am choosing my yearly payment option and putting in my card information but it continues to say this transaction has been declined.

      The transaction was declined and we are not able to give an exact reason for this due to the fact that the decision was made by the issuing bank with a very general error message. 

      This means that only you, as the customer, can contact them for an explanation since there could be a number of reasons for the decline.  
      Please note that without an inquiry being made to them, there is unfortunately not anything that we can do to assist you at this time.  
      Once we have complete details we will be able to understand the situation in it's entirety and be able to help you resolve the situation so that you may complete your purchase.
       
      When contacting the issuer of your credit card,  please let them know that you attempted to place the order and give them the exact date and approximate time this was done.  
      You will need to speak to them about this specific transaction not just the account or card in general.  
      Should the resulting answer be something that is within our control, please let us know by sharing those details with us and we will immediately look into the matter.

    It has said the domain Is expired I put in my new billing info but nothing happens it says the new billing date is for April 17, 2014 that date has passed and of course your office is closed. I opted for auto renew and yet it still expired and nothing is working on your site. I have customer that go on my site and this is a major is that I need fixed ASAP.

    Good morning, I received an email that my payment failed. I changed my credit card information BUT today  got a message that even with that change my domain expired. How can that happen? Can this be fixed as my website needs to be up and running.

      Hey, 

      Please note that the payment for the domain service is currently being declined by your credit card provider.

      Please contact your bank to find out the reason for the decline or add an alternate card.

      You can change your credit card number, billing name and billing address simply by entering Wix.com -> My Account -> Manage Premium -> Under Packages click on Manage -> Next to Payment method click on Update Payment Method.

    My domain reneval process was failed, there was something wrong with my credit card.

    I fixed it and the bank notified me that money was taken by wix afterwards.

    Its still seeming to be expired?

    I already paid for my domain and package renewal before the expired date and now the problem is my own computer that I can't log in into my website that's www.cfmedicare.com since last week.

    The payment of site failed some days ago and instantly I renewed the package and I did not realize i had to renew the domain too. 16 hours ago i've regularized payment and my domain is still not working at all! Thanks for helping!
