    The domain name you entered is not connected to Wix’s nameservers and is not pointing to Wix’s IP address.

    You have two options:

    Option 1: Connect Using Name Servers (*recommended!)

    When connecting a domain to your Wix site with our nameservers, the domain stays at your hosting company and connects to the Wix servers NS1.WIX.COM and NS2.WIX.COM.

    This method transfers control of your domain records to Wix. These records can be controlled via Domain Manager of your Wix account by you!

    This will also allow your mobile site to be automatically associated with your domain!

      I have visited your domain and I see it is correctly directed to your Wix site. Your site works perfectly!

      If you are still having trouble viewing your site, please try doing the following:

      1) Go here and click on "Delete all sites". Then clear your browser's cache.

      For step-by-step instructions about how to clear your browser's cache, please follow this link.
      You can also find a video tutorial here.

      2) Try to Flush your DNS. For detailed instructions on how to do so please go here.

      3) Please go to the Windows start menu->click on 'run'-> select the first option: 'Run'-> type: 'ping yourdomain.com'->A window will pop with an IP address. Please run this test from several computers.

      For Mac users: Go to ‘Application’ then open ‘Terminal’ and type: 'ping yourdomain.com'->A window will pop with an IP address. Please run this test from several computers.

      -If you receive an IP address on your computer other than the IP you see here and you see this IP from other computers please contact an IT expert in your area for further troubleshooting.

      -If you receive a different IP than the IP you see here from multiple locations, please send it to us in order for us to check it.

    Hi Wix!

    I have been trying to get my GoDaddy domain to point to wix but I'm at a loss!  I've followed the directions to a tee, I swear!  When I type my domain into my URL field, it brings me to my GoDaddy site… not my Wix site that I thought I had successfully pointed to.

    After I check the connection on wix.com, it says something is incorrect.  I followed the troubleshooting guide, allowed 72 hours and www.loopnj.com still directs me to my GoDaddy site. 

    Please help!!

      Hi Wix,

      As I said in my original question, I've already gone through the troubleshooting guide.  In my GoDaddy account, my A record and both Cnames are exactly as indicated on the troubleshooting guide.  I believe they're correct.  Please see the screenshot I've attached here. 

      Perhaps there is something wrong that I can't see?

      I just realized when I go to loopnj.com, it brings me to my go daddy site but when I type in www.loopnj.com, it says the page can't be found.

      Please help!!

      May I ask when you updated this records?

      Please note: It might take up to 24 hours until all the records will update.

       

      I noticed your domain is also pointing the the IP address: 173.201.216.100

      Please make sure your domain is pointing only to Wix IP address: 23.236.62.147

      Hi Dina,

      Again, if you read my original question, I indicated I've waited beyond 72 hours without any changes.  

      I'll discard the 2nd IP address and see what happens though.  I don't remember seeing that on the instructions.

      It's been just about 24 hours and there is still no change.  my loopnj.com site is not showing my wix page.  Do you notice anything else that's wrong in the screenshots provided?  Or is there anything else that could be the problem?

      Please add a CNAME with the following details:

      Host: www.loopnj.com

      Point to: www251.wixdns.net

      Please allow up to 72 hours for changes to get updated, and let us know if the issue persists.

      Hi,

      When I added the CNAME (alias) with the host www.loopnj.com and pointed to www251.wixdns.net, this error popped up when I went to save it.

      Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.  I really need this site to be up as soon as possible and can't afford to keep waiting 72 hours between each small change.

      Please note that according to the error it seems you are trying to add an SRV record. Please make sure you are adding a Cname record.

      Thank you for pointing that out.  I tried to add the CNAME again (not SRV) and it wouldn't save because I've already added that CNAME.

      As I said, I've seriously followed the instructions to a tee.  AND I attached the screenshots of the DNS records to one of my replies.

      Please let me know what the issue is.  I've added the appropriate DNS records.

      Please note I checked your domain records here, and it appears there is no Cname record associated with www.loopnj.com. In order to solve the problem please contact your domain host, and ask them to manually add the records specified here.

      I contacted GoDaddy and they changed my DNS records to match what Wix has specified.  I also did the steps required on the Wix side and was told to wait 48 hours for everything to propagate.  However, it's been 48 hours and it's STILL not working!!! I just got off the line with GoDaddy and they ensured all DNS records are as specific by Wix.

      It's been over a week of me doing everything I've been asked to do without and results.  I MUST get this website up immediately.

      I realize it's difficult to instruct people how to get technical things to work without physically showing but I've done everything the instructionals have shown me, the troubleshooting guide, AND everything the Wix support team has asked me to do.

      I appreciate your help in advance.

      I can see that your domain opulent-styles.com is properly connected to your premium Wix site 'opulentstyle'. I have just accessed your site using this domain and was able to view it live properly. Have a look at the screenshot below:

      Please also try and use different browsers and see if there is any difference. Wix is compatible with Internet Explorer (version 9 and above), Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

      If you are still having trouble entering your site please follow these instructions:

       

      While browsing on the web, your computer and browser stores various information. This build up of information can sometimes cause conflict.

      Please clear your browser's cache. You can find step by step instructions here.
       

      In Windows, the operating system caches the DNS lookup for a domain name, linking it to a particular IP. Once the IP changes (for instance, when you connect your domain to Wix), Windows looks up the cached information that it has instead of looking up the new DNS settings for that domain name.

       

      Refreshing the browser, and clearing the browser’s cache will not resolve the issue. Instead, please follow these steps (for a Windows environment only):

      1. Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
      2. In the Command Prompt, type the following: ‘ipconfig /flushdns’
       

      If you are using an Apple MAC environment, to flush the DNS:

      1. Open the Terminal. (Go > Utilities > Terminal).
      2. Type in the following: dscacheutil -flushcache

    Also having the common issue with connecting to my new wix website when the domain is provided by GoogleApps. Pretty sure i'm properly configured as on the WIX side it says my connection is established and good. Problem is when i type in the url, nothing happens. Any suggestions...

      Hi Carla,

       

      unfortunately when i flush dns and try to ping all i receive is a message saying that ping request could not find the host. I also tried from several other devices and appear to not be able to connect as well... :(

      Unfortunately, I've tried everything,including re-connecting the connection. I just receive server not found message. At this point, i don't know what else to do. Even from within WIX, when i click on the link to my website it crashes...

    Help! I can not find my website on line. A different website keeps popping up when I type in my domain. Even when I go through my direct WIX account, that same website keeps up, which is not mine. I have no idea what to do. PLEASE HELP!

      Who is my hosting company? I thought you were.... I have no idea how to do this. I have a Wix account and no accounts at any hosting servers...? Even when I try to get into my website from your server it goes into someone else's website. Maybe I have to rename my domain?

      If you've purchased the domain name, then you will need to apply the correct configuration under your registrar. This is the publicly available information about the domain name.

       

      In case you do not own the domain, you can simply buy a different one from Wix or from any other registrar.

      I bought a premium account with Wix, which comes with a free domain for a year. I assume I do own my domain (www.yaphotos.com), but apparently somebody else owns it now. I thought I owned my domain...??? This is very frustrating. Are you recommending that I buy another domain with Wix? Or is it better to buy one from another registrar? This is costing me a lot of time and money and putting me really behind in setting up my business!!

      Hi,

      The domain www.yaphotos.com is owned according to the registrar by Kari Bian.

      The free domain voucher you got from WIX has unfortunately expired.

      In order to connect the domain to the WIX site the domain owner has to ask the domain host to change either the name servers or to point the domain to WIX via IP.

      I purchased the premium account around December 2, 2013, because it will expire December 2, 2014. If it is true that it came with a free domain for a year, that means that mine only lasted less than 6 months. Very interesting! I see that as false advertising. It would also be nice to get a notice when a domain is about to expire. I am not happy with this whole situation!!!!

      The domain voucher has not been used. Should it have been used it would be valid for a full calendar year.

      This is getting ridiculous. I followed precisely the directions to see if my voucher has been used. Under "My Domain" I went to "Vouchers" - I only still have advertising to claim. I have used the free voucher for my domain as far as I know and it has only been a few months!! NOT A YEAR!!!! I can buy my domain back for $75,000! Wow, great deal!!! When I go to "MY Domain", my domain name clearly states yaphotos.com. How is it possible that somebody else owns it now?? Please stop going in circles and get to the point!!! I am afraid that if I get a new domain name that my new name will just get taken by somebody else again. This is just plain a crazy situation. HELP!!!!

      You can see under My Account -> Subscriptions -> Packages -> Billing and Payment that no domain name has been purchased through Wix.

    I followed the steps recommended but it still does not work.

    My domain name is registered with Vodafone Romania. 

    Bellow you can see a print screen of the DNS setting window.

      Hello Vat_i,

      I've checked your domain connection via NS here and IP pointing here and as you can see, your domain is not properly connected to Wix (the nameservers are not NS1.wix.com and NS2.wix.com nor is it pointing to a Wix ip). 

      Although the screenshot you've provided includes one records pointing to the Wix domain, the pointing is not properly configured as you can see in the above links.

      Dear Mariana,

      I've deleted all the settings and started adding my domain step by step as in tutorial. But when I get to chose your Domain provider and I pick OTHER (our domain is purchased from Vodafone) your tutorial stops by saying : 
      We're sorry, step-by-step instructions are not available. To change your name servers to NS1.WIX.COM and NS2.WIX.COM please follow the instructions on your domain sellers website orsend an email.

      In the previous post I've inserted a print screen with the DNS settings on my control panel at Vodafone. Please instruct what do I need to change there and I'll change it.

      Hi,

      Unfortunately, your domain: nagelholding.ro is currently not pointing to Wix name servers.

      When you check the domain pointing settings in here, you should see the following records:

      Under the A records you should see the IP address: 23.236.62.124

      Under the NS records you should see: ns1.wix.com & ns2.wix.com

      I can see non of the records are correct.

       

      Please send your domain host the following message:

       

      I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their name servers- NS1.WIX.COM (IP address 216.139.213.90) and NS2.WIX.COM (IP address 95.211.144.195).

      I do not have an NS record on my control panel

      Please advice. 

      I've talked at the call center of Vodafone and they said I should insert the 2 DNS IP's you gave me, in the first 2 positions. the change should have effect after 24hours.

      This is a process that takes usually up to 72 hours, not 24. If there is an issue after that timeframe please contact us.
