    Domain Redirecting

    I have 2 questions, 
    1) is it possible to redirect an existing domain link to a wix webpage i have created?
    2) if the above question is a no, is it possible to extract the html code from the wix webpage i have created and transfer to an existing domain?  

    Or do i have to pay a fee to redirect my current domain to the wix domain?

      You cannot extract the html code of a Wix site in order to connect it to your domain. Wix sites cannot be exported as they must remain connected to the Wix servers in order to maintain their operation.

       

      If you would like to connect your site to a domain you already own, you will have to upgrade your site to one of the following premium plans:

      - Connect Domain Plan (this plan does not remove Wix ads)
      - Combo Plan
      - Unlimited Plan
      - eCommerce Plan

    My website worked 5 minutes ago, and now it's not. It's saying the domain name isn't connected. I'm not sure what I changed in the last 5 minutes but now it won't work. It's urgent that the site gets back up.

      Ok - now it's bringing up a "website not available" then you have to reload (at least in chrome) and then it works the second time. That's not acceptable. How do I fix that?

      I checked your site. Your page is working good, but your domain is not connected.

      Your pointing configuration in your registrar (not Wix, but your actual domain host) is incorrect. To fix this, please follow the instructions here

      Were you connected through pointing or name-servers? (note that we recommend connecting your domain through name servers) 

      Please see What is the difference between connecting using Wix IP and connect with name servers?

      The domain name you entered is not connected to Wix’s nameservers and is not pointing to Wix’s IP address.

      For now, we do not provide the option of connecting such domains to Wix sites. However, you can use an encoder in order to translate the special characters. After you translate the domain, you can connect it to your Wix site using the instructions in the best reply at the top of the thread.

    I can't seem to figure out why our site is not connected. The computer version seems to work though the mobile site does not.

      Hi,

       

      Please note that your domain stuntranch.com is properly connected to Wix's Name Servers (ns1.wix.com and ns2.wix.com), however, as you can see here, it is also connected to the name servers ns3.mydomain.com and ns4.mydomain.com. Please contact your domain host and ask to remove the name servers ns3.mydomain.com and ns4.mydomain.com. Once the changes are made, it may take up to 72 hours for the changes to fully propagate for all locations.

       

      If this issue is not related to stuntranch.com, please specify which one of your site is related to this issue and also please include screenshots exemplifying the issue so we could better understand and assist. You can find step by step instructions here.

    Hello Wix team,

    I built a site with Wix and transfer my DNS from my other registrar. I published my site and check if the transfer was done by checking my connection and you said the transfer was done.

    When I type my website's address, it says Forbidden, you don't have permission to access this site

      I have visited your domain and I see it is correctly directed to your Wix site. Your site works perfectly!

      Please make sure that your network allows you to browse the internet freely without restrictions. You may want to contact your IT person for further investigation.

    Question regarding connecting my domain to wix

    Hi!

    I've recently built a site using your services (which are really great, by the way) and bought a premium package, so I'd be able to connect it to my own domain.

    Thing is, I have another domain (and storage) in another company. When I tried telling them I want to change to your name servers, they sent me back an e-mail, asking for the site's IP - not the name servers. I tried sending the IP of one of name servers, figuring they might connect it that way (since I didn't want to point the site, but to use the name servers option), but it didn't work. When I tried explaining the issue again on the phone, they said that my only option is transferring the domain to Wix entirely - somehow, I get the feeling that this is not the correct way to go. Anyway, either I'm not explaining myself correctly to them or I misundertood something about it. Could you please help me? If you need any more details, please let me know!

      So, I've finally managed to get the hosting company to change the NS of my domain to yours, thing is, they probably misunderstood my request and also created an A record that points to to the IP you mentioned in the second option (my original e-mail to them was something like: "please change the NS, if that's not possible, create an A record and point my domain to this IP..." and they did both, for some reason).

      My question is - do I need to tell them to do something now other than to delete the A record they've created? I have to make sure I'm doing everything OK. I'm trying to connect my Wix site for almost a week now :(

    I recently built a site with you and I have bought a domain name elsewhere. Could you please tell me if I can transfer the name to my WIX site without having to upgrade AND/OR without having to wait 60 days as I am keen to get it up and running??!

    I followed the steps to connect my domain name from GoDaddy to my new Wix template. This was done yesterday. I was supposed to receive an email for approval and have not received one. I checked status and it shows pending approval. Is there a step I missed? Or something else that needs to be done on my end to get it to process?

      Hi,

       

      Thank you for contacting the Wix support team!

       

      Your domain appears in your domain list with the status Pending Verification.

       

      Note that during this process a few important emails will be sent to the email address that you had indicated when signing up with your old registrar. 

       

      It may take up to 24 hours for Wix to verify your domain transfer.

       

      After Wix verifies your transfer, you will get an email from your current registrar approving your transfer request. Your domain status will then change to Pending Registry Approval

       

      Verify that the email address for the domain admin/registrant is your own email address, as we will send a confirmation email to that address once the transfer is initiated. This email will expire after 5 days, so we recommend that you confirm the domain transfer as soon as possible.You can check your domain admin/registrant e-mail address(es) via the WHOIS database here.

       

      You'll receive an email from support@wix.com, asking you to confirm your transfer request. The subject of the email is "DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER - Initial Authorization for Registrar". You must open this email (check your spam folder) and click Confirm within 5 days after the transfer request. If you do not confirm the email, the transfer process cannot be completed.

       

      It may take up to seven days for the Registry to approve your transfer.

      Note that I was able to see that you have currently now premium plan under your account, note that in order to connect your domain to your Wix site you will need to purchase a premium plan.

      Please reply if you still do not see your site under this domain after this period.

      Please note that your domain 
      fm.com.sa is not properly connected to your Wix site. To connect a domain to a Wix site, we recommend connecting the name servers (NS) to Wix. This means that the domain is still located at the original host (where you purchased your domain name from), but the domain redirects to the Wix site. 
      When you connect your domain to Wix by nameservers, we can offer support and assist you in creating any DNS records you might need. 


      To solve this problem simply send your domain hosting company (where you purchased your domain name from) the following message:


      "I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their Name Servers - NS1.WIX.COM (IP address 216.139.213.90) and NS2.WIX.COM (IP address 95.211.144.195)"



      After sending your message, please allow up to 72 hours for changes to take effect (propagate).

      I can see that you have properly assigned your domain to your Premium site, however, the pointing configuration with your registrar isn't updated with the Wix name servers.

       

      In order to complete the domain connection process, please ask your hosting company (where you purchased your domain name from) to point your domain to the Wix server using the following cnames:

       

      ns1.wix.com

      ns2.wix.com

       

      Note that once they have made the changes, the domain can take 72 hours to fully propagate.
