I have a .ie domain name but only had it for about 30 days can I redirect this to my web site

Yes, the 60 days cool down period applies for transferring the domain, you do not need to do that, keep it where it is with it's current domain host and merely connect it with your Wix site.

I have my domain name purchased through Go Daddy, but my current website using that domain name is hosted by someone else and is currently on the web.  I've built a new website using Wix and want to make that new website go live.  How do I do that?

    Hello,

The company i work for currently has a domain name ending in .aero

Will Wix allow me to use this ending or will it have to be on of the common endings, such as .com, .net, etc...

Replied by Eileen July 10, 2014

      Hey drpuente616

Thank you for inquiring about connecting your Wix site to your own domain.

While Wix does not sell nor accept .aero domain transfers, you can connect such a domain to your Wix site using name servers (link to instructions at the bottom of my message).

To connect your Wix site to your domain, you will need to upgrade to one of the following premium plans:

      - Connect Domain Plan (this plan does not remove Wix ads)
      - Combo Plan
      - Unlimited Plan
      - eCommerce Plan

To learn more about our premium plans and what they include, please click here.

    Hi!

I'm trying to connect my Wix site to my domain (purchased through Weebly) and I just upgraded, but the site is not publishing. Whenever I type in my domain name, it has a 404 - Page Not Found message. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Hello.

I have just changed the name servers at 123reg to NS1.WIX.COM and NS2.WIX.COM

I have also deleted the existing pointing that I had within Domain Management at WIX.

I re-input my domain name as per the video, I did not choose to 'transfer registration' but chose to keep registration at 123, does this mean I am still only pointing to wix or using Name Servers? I am not sure that I have done this correctly. I will transfer if it means I can get my site up quicker.

    Dear Wix team,

I believ that I have taken all the necessary steps in order to publish and run my web site created with you - I have just contacted the domain host (fasthosts) and have asked them to direct DNS to Wix - which has been done - Yet still I cannot access the site by typoing the address in the address bar or in Google....

What am I to do next??

    Thanks in advance

      Hi Jerome,

I am currently in your account and I see that everything is in order. Your domain is connected properly to your Wix site.

I also checked if I would be able to see it by typing the domain in the address bar and your site open properly - see here.

    Domain Redirecting

    I have 2 questions,
    1) is it possible to redirect an existing domain link to a wix webpage i have created?
    2) if the above question is a no, is it possible to extract the html code from the wix webpage i have created and transfer to an existing domain?

Or do i have to pay a fee to redirect my current domain to the wix domain?

    Thanks

      Hi Hervy,

Your site is located at this address: http://bio-design.wix.com/biodesign

You cannot extract the html code of a Wix site in order to connect it to your domain. Wix sites cannot be exported as they must remain connected to the Wix servers in order to maintain their operation.

If you would like to connect your site to a domain you already own, you will have to upgrade your site to one of the following premium plans:

      - Connect Domain Plan (this plan does not remove Wix ads)
      - Combo Plan
      - Unlimited Plan
      - eCommerce Plan

To learn more about our premium plans and what they include, please click here.

Please let us know if you have any further questions we may assist you with.

My website worked 5 minutes ago, and now it's not. It's saying the domain name isn't connected. I'm not sure what I changed in the last 5 minutes but now it won't work. It's urgent that the site gets back up.

Replied by tchdtobacco July 8, 2014

Ok - now it's bringing up a "website not available" then you have to reload (at least in chrome) and then it works the second time. That's not acceptable. How do I fix that?

    • Helle Wix Team

Replied by Helle July 9, 2014

      Hi tchdtobacco,

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this inconvenience.

I checked your site. Your page is working good, but your domain is not connected.

Your pointing configuration in your registrar (not Wix, but your actual domain host) is incorrect. To fix this, please follow the instructions here

Please let us know, if you should require further assistance.

      Thanks,

      Hi,

Were you connected through pointing or name-servers? (note that we recommend connecting your domain through name servers)

Please see What is the difference between connecting using Wix IP and connect with name servers?

The domain name you entered is not connected to Wix’s nameservers and is not pointing to Wix’s IP address.

To fix this, please follow the instructions here

We are here should you have any further questions.

      Many thanks, Barrios
