You can reassign your domain name to any of the sites within your account. However, in order for a site to be assigned a domain name, it needs to have a premium plan attached to it. Therefore, if you only have one premium plan, please transfer the premium plan to your new site. Alternatively, you can purchase a second premium plan for the new site.

To reassign a domain name (after transferring the premium plan):  Sign in to your Wix account > hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > next to the relevant domain, click Manage.

Under Domain Summary, under Domain Connects to, click Change > choose a Wix site to connect your domain to > click Save > click Done.

Hi Support, I hope you're having a good day.

I am trying to direct a domain name purchased through Telstra (Australia) to a Premium (Combo) Wix site I am building on my account. When I go to the Telstra Business page for managing the domain name, they do not give me DNS options. The only option is to enter the IP Address.

Can I get the IP Address from the Wix page in question, or do I need to email Telstra and ask them to enter the DNS settings for me. As I am acting for someone else (with Telstra) I would prefer not to email them.

Before you answer that. Here is my discussion with Telstra, as I am lost on what to do now?

Hello Guy, Please note that the information you have supplied is for changing the name servers. As stated previously, your emails and everything that's currently attached to the domain name will go down once we change the name servers. Please let us know if you wish to proceed with this method or supply us the IP Address so we could update your DNS records. Kind regards, John eFulfilment Specialist

Hi, I am fairly sure the DNS settings for Wix are DNS1 - ns1.wix.com DNS2 - ns2.wix.com But I thought I had to do that while I have the Wix page open? I am not really sure how this works, but I am sure you will let me know if you need more info. Thanks Guy

Hi, I am trying to direct callidevalleyelectrics.com.au to a website I am building with Wix. You ask for and IP Address, but they provide DNS settings? Should I be asking Wix for the IP Address, or asking you to put in the DNS settings? Thanks Guy

      Hi Guy,

You can connect your domain to Wix via DNS connection as you stated - by changing NS records and following these instructions.

Please note that you still have to pay your domain host for hosting your domain and mailbox.

You can definitely connect your domain to Wix while keeping your mailbox active, by following these instructions. In essence, you need to obtain the MX and A records from your domain host.

Please let us know in case you have issues in the process.

      All the best, Or

If your domain host has supplied you with this data, it is correct. We have no way to verify it.

This data was properly inserted in your DNS records. I have added the mail A record to the list.

Please make sure you allow 72 hours to pass since the initiation of the domain connection process for the changes to fully propagate.

      All the best, Or

I currently own a domain purchased through weebly. I also just created a website and purchased a premium plan with WIX. My current domain is www.wholewomensgathering.com , however I need THIS EXACT DOMAIN to go to my new WIX site. How do I do this?

I can see that your domain wholewomensgathering.com is properly connected to your Wix site 'wholewomensgathering'. Have a look at the screenshot below taken from your live site:

Please note that once the domain is properly connected to Wix, it may take up to 72 hours for the changes to fully propagate for all locations. Once 72 hours have passed, if you are still unable to access your live site using this domain, please clear your browser's cache and check again. You can find step by step instructions here.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

All I really want to know is that if I go through all the channels, can I STILL connect with my current salemmennonite.us domain.  Don't want to go through everything just to find that I cannot.  In short, is it do-able?

Connecting a site with a domain is a premium feature, upgrade your website and it will appear as an option.

Since the instructions are not as clear as I had hoped.  There is a bit of confusion.  I understand that when "pointing" you can not currently deal with extensions other than: com, .org, .net, .biz. and .info.  However it is not totally clear if other extensions can be be "connected".  My current Godaddy domain is: salemmennonite.us , so my obvious question is can I connect this to the WIX site I am building so that it will become my WIX site address.  I realize I will probably first have to find out how soon my previous host can release my domain name for use at the current free WIX site I have built.  We are in process of changing venues and design, but was taken aback to find that I might not be able to after all this work.

      Let us make it clear:

You can connect a domain you have with us (Wix then being your domain provider as well as your site builder) whether you bought it through us or have transferred it to us.

We provide only certain extensions (which you mentioned), we also cannot import domains not of these extensions.

We can however connect any type of domain (which is hosted elsewhere by a different domain host) to a Wix site. The methods of this connection can be either pointing or Domain Name Servers  (DNS).

We hope this is clear, so, in your case, we can't import the .us domain but we don't have to, keep it where it is with the current domain host, upgrade the site and connect the two :)

    Hey guys,

I have my both domain pointing to my host account with BlueHost.
I dont want to point it to wix as I have been using my email with bluehost and I want to keep as it is. So the solution was to create a domain re-direct, which works perfectly for autoteamnz.co.nz, but for my new site maake.co.nz it doesn't. It re-directs but still display my wix address.
Is it to do with the 72h waiting to changes to take effect?

    Thanks for your time

      Hi Erick,

While autoteamnz.co.nz is pointing to Wix's IP address, the redirection of maake.co.nz is not supported in the same manner as it is simply a code redirecting a page to another.

You need to create an A record for @ domain.com and a CNAME for www.domain.com -

domain.com A address will point to www.domain.com CNAME will point to one from www147.wixdns.net

I can see that you have pointed your autoteamnz.co.nz to us via IP. You can do so with maake.co.nz as well!

In order to see the IP address you need to point your domain name to and read the specific instructions on how to point your domain name please go here.

Please note that your domain is not properly connected to your Wix site. To connect a domain to a Wix site, we recommend connecting the name servers (NS) to Wix. This means that the domain is still located at the original host (where you purchased your domain name from), but the domain redirects to the Wix site.
When you connect your domain to Wix by nameservers, we can offer support and assist you in creating any DNS records you might need.

To solve this problem simply send your domain hosting company (where you purchased your domain name from) the following message:

"I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their Name Servers - NS1.WIX.COM (IP address and NS2.WIX.COM (IP address"

After sending your message, please allow up to 72 hours for changes to take effect (propagate).

Here you can find your current NS records and also check if they have been updated.

Please let us know should you require any further assistance and we will be happy to help you.

This change can only be done on your domain host's end - please visit http://www.onlinenic.com for additional information, as your domain's public WHOIS information shows this as your domain registrar.

Additional information can be found here.

Let us know if you need any additional help - we'll be happy to further assist!
