Once you have purchased a domain, you will not be able to edit, cancel or delete it. If you decide that you no longer wish to keep the domain that you purchased, you can change the auto renewal settings so that you will not be charged again after the subscription expires.


To turn off the auto renewal: Sign in to your Wix account > from the top right of the page, hover over the user panel > click Billing & Payment.

Under Domain Subscriptions, next to the relevant domain, click Manage > next to Next Payment, click Cancel payments > select No, I will renew the domain manually > click Save.

    Just now I purchased the domain, but it still showing the default one. Some how it didn't get setup the new domain name chosen. Please help me to setup the domain name to correct one.

    Thank you for taking the time for help me troubleshoot.

    First of all, I have the same issue as a large number of people in the community, having bought a domain only to know that I have to purchase a separate premium 'package' with another domain. 

    Okay so, my enquiry is that I want to link my current purchased domain to my current account, but I want to separate out the new not-yet-purchased domain coming in the premium plan to another account (Not wix), then i'll hook the domain up to my other site. 

    Is it possible that you help me with it?

      If I understand correctly, you wish to connect the free domain which you will recive if you upgrade to one of the Yearly packages: Combo, Unlimited, or eCommerce to external site hosted on external servers?


      Please note that it is not possible to change the name servers of a domain name purchased from Wix. You may either transfer the domain away from Wix, or point the domain to a different IP address. 
      * If you have purchased a Wix domain, but have decided to transfer it away from Wix, you can do so easily by following the instructions here.


      Important note: In accordance with ICANN rules, you cannot transfer your domain to another provider until 60 days after you register or transfer your domain.
      * To point your domain to a different IP address, you will need to modify the domain's A records. You will need to contact your new host and request for the relevant IP address. For more information about how to edit your A records, click here.

      After you purchase a Yearly Wix premium plan (Combo, Unlimited or eCommerce), your vouchers will be available in your account.

      To access your vouchers: Sign in to your Wix account > from the top menu, click Subscriptions > under Manage Premium, click Vouchers.


      For instructions on using promotional codes, click here.

      Note: Your free domain voucher will appear as soon as you purchase a plan that includes this promotion. However your Facebook Ads and Google Adwords vouchers will only appear in the Vouchers section after 48 hours.


      Note: The free domain voucher grants you a free domain for one year. After the first year you will need to purchase your domain to renew it.

    I just purchased a wrong domain name due to my spelling mistake :

    should be: mycupoflovebali.com

    I misspelled : mycopoflovebali.com

    Can I somehow change it or delete the wrong one and set up a new one.

    Please advice.

      Unfortunately there is no way to modify a domain name once purchased. When you register a domain name you are reserving those letters or characters in that order. In order to "change" it you would simply need to register a new domain name.


      You can prevent your misspelled domain from renewing quite easily.

      1. Log into your Wix account

      2. Choose "billing and payment" at the top just beneath my account

      3. Across from the domain, choose 'manage'

      4. Click the cancel button next to 'next payment' and fill out the information. That way you will not be charged again to register that domain.

    I have previously purchased a domain over a year ago and since my yearly subscription with Wix has expired I believed that the domain was gone, hence I just purchased a new yearly subscription today and accidentally used my domain coupon to create a new one instead of the one I created a year ago. Is it possible for me to get a refund on the coupon and the newest domain deleted? I'd rather used the coupon to extend the validity of my old domain instead.

    My old domain: cherryorchardsg.com

    New domain: thecherryorchardsg.com

      Please note that the voucher can be used for new domains only, not to renew existing domains. You can connect both domains to the same Wix site.


      Unfortunately domain names cannot be refunded. Please follow the directions below to end the automatic renewal process of the domain. 

      1. From My Account, next to Manage Premium click Billing and Payment. 
      2. Under Domain Subscriptions, next to your domain, click Manage. 
      3. Next to Next payment, click Cancel. 
      4. Click on the radio dial next to "No, I will renew the domain manually". 
      5. Click Save.

      I can see that your domain cpmtutorial.com is not hosted with Wix, it is simply pointing to the Wix name servers.


      To make any changes to the domain, please contact Melbourne IT Ltd.

      Once your domain host removed the Wix name servers from your domain records, please go to your Wix account, under Manage Premium, go to Domains--> Manage--> Next to ' Wix site', click Change, then check ' Clear domain connection'.


      Once you follow these steps, your domain will no longer direct your visitors to your Wix site.

    Purchased a domain name, today and i would like a refund today. Your policy goes against consumer rights, and you can't take money off people because your policy says so. 

    I would like a refund today please otherwise i will have to take this further.

      Wix domain purchases are non-refundable once the domain is processed (much like most internet companies reselling domains). If you'll elaborate why do you not wish to use the domain we will be happy to try and help sort it out.

    Hi there,


    I just bought a Wix domain, but I want to migrate to a premium account...

    afer I bought it I saw that if you sign the Premium account the domain comes for free, SO what I need is to migrate to a Premium account, then I don't need to pay both domains...right?!

      Thank you for your question. If you purchase a yearly combo, unlimited or eCommerce then you will receive a voucher for a domain free for one year.  Just to clarify, are you interested in two domains? or are you looking to only have one domain in total?

      Unfortunately, it is not possible to receive a refund for a domain purchase.

      Please note: You can claim your free Wix domain and link it to your Wix site as a second domain.

      You can add a domain with a different suffix.

    Hello made a wix domain name payment as from how i understood the offer it meant i could use it on the current six account. nothing was said about later having to pay to connect it. for this reason i would like to cancel payment. I understand i have 14 days to do so… how do i go about this?

      According to your account, you have purchased a Wix domain but did not upgrade any of your sites. In order to connect your domain to your site, you will also have to purchase an upgrade package.

      To upgrade your document, please go to My Account > roll over the document > click Upgrade. You can find a video tutorial about how to upgrade and about Manage Premium here.

      Make sure that you purchase a package that allows connecting your own domain!

      Unfortunately Wix domain purchases are non-refundable once registered.

      Wix domain purchases are separate from Premium package purchases and do not have a 14-day free trial policy.

    If you are going to charge people to use the domain name, you should probably make that clearer in the process of purchasing one. I've been pleased overall with your service until this. This is a joke.

      We charge a price for connecting a personal domain name to a Wix site, just the same as we do with domains that were not purchased from Wix. If you've purchased a domain from us and you're not interested in purchasing a premium package, the domain is still yours to use with any other website hosting service. 

      To transfer your Wix domain from Wix:

      1. From your Domain Manager, under My Domains, next to your Wix domain, click Manage.

      2. Under Domain Summary, click the Advanced tab.

      3. Next to Transfer away from Wix, click Transfer (please make sure to turn off Private Registration if it is on).

      4. In the Transfer window, click Send.

      5. An email with a code will be sent to you. Forward this code to your new domain registrar.
      You may not receive the email immediately, but you can expect to receive it on the same day.

      Your Wix domain is transferred from Wix

      Important notice: In accordance with ICANN rules, you cannot transfer your domain to another provider until 60 days after you register or transfer your domain.
