Domains purchased through Wix are non-refundable as Wix is required to pay for the domain registration on your behalf.

If you no longer wish to keep the domain that you purchased, you can cancel your subscription by turning off the auto renewal process. The domain will expire on the next renewal date.

To turn the auto renewal off : Sign in to your Wix account > from the top menu, hover over Subscriptions > click Domains > under Manage Premium, click Billing & Payment.

Under Domain Subscriptions, next to the relevant domain, click Manage > next to Next Payment, click Cancel payments > select No, I will renew the domain manually > click Save.

bought domain but was meaning to get premium

I just bought the domain through wix but realized that the premium offered a free domain with purchase. I have my website through wix so I want to upgrade to premium but already bought the domain. Do I have to cancel my domain subscription and start over by getting the premium package instead?

I was charged twice when had to re-enter my domain transfer (as missed the confirm email the first time) for the who is registration of $24.95. How do I get a refund for one of those?

      Hi woolyblu24,

You were charged twice due to the fact that you have had two transfer attempts.

However, as the first transfer failed, you will be automatically refunded for the transfer charge. Please allow up to 20 business days from the failure date for the refund to settle in your account.

Regardless, please note that your first transfer process failed due to the fact that you have not responded to the transfer confirmation email. This information is explained in our learning center in the following manner:

"After Wix verifies your transfer, you will get an email from your current registrar approving your transfer request. Your domain status will then change to Pending Registry Approval

Verify that the email address for the domain admin/registrant is your own email address, as we will send a confirmation email to that address once the transfer is initiated. This email will expire after 5 days, so we recommend that you confirm the domain transfer as soon as possible. You can check your domain admin/registrant e-mail address(es) via the WHOIS database here.

You'll receive an email from support@wix.com, asking you to confirm your transfer request. The subject of the email is "DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER - Initial Authorization for Registrar". You must open this email (check your spam folder) and click Confirm within 5 days after the transfer request. If you do not confirm the email, the transfer process cannot be completed."

Thanks for contacting Wix support! Don't hesitate to contact us again for any additional assistance you may require.

      Hi,

Please note: You can cancel the premium package but you will not be able to connect the domain with an active premium package.

You can cancel your Premium plans upgrade at any time within the first 14 days and receive a full refund. Please be informed that it may take up to 20 business days for your refund to appear on your credit card statement. After the 14 days, you will not receive a refund.
If you would still like to cancel, please cancel your Premium plans first and then add your details in the link above. To cancel your plans, go to Subscriptions > Premium Plans > click Manage next to the relevant plan and click Cancel Payments.
You can find more information here.

      Hi,

I see that you purchased 2 different domain names.

If you don't wish to keep one of these domain names, please cancel it to prevent the renewal.

Once you purchase a WIX domain, unfortunately you cannot cancel, edit or delete the domain name.
However, you can change the auto-renewal settings so that you will not be charged after the subscription expires.

Please follow the directions below to end the automatic renewal process.

      1. From My Account, next to Manage
      Premium click Billing and Payment.
      2. Under Domain Subscriptions, next to your domain, click Manage.
      3. Next to Next payment, click Cancel.
      4. Click on the radio dial next to "No, I will renew the domain manually".
      5. Click Save.

I transferred my domain from an existing host, and paid a fee to Wix, the process was supposed to take UP TO 7 days, however has taken little over a week. There is nothing to say what is going on, or any kind of update other than "pending". Could you explain what exactly I paid money for, as so far I am not getting my monies worth and I wish to request a refund and go with a host who actually has 24/7 support. Time is crucial and scheduling a call to occur a week later, is NOT acceptable.

      Hi,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.

I checked your Wix account and I saw the transfer failed.

Reason:  We did not receive a reply to the approval email after transfer was requested.

      Instructions for how to resolve:

      • Verify that the email address for the domain admin/registrant is your own email address, as we will send a confirmation email to that address once the transfer is initiated. You can check your domain admin/registrant e-mail address(es) via the WHOIS database here.

      • Repeat the transfer domain process. Then, check your inbox for an email from support@wix.com and make sure to click on the approval link in the email.

      • Check the inbox of the email account that you registered with your current domain host.

      • Check your Spam folder if you do not see the mail in your inbox.

Please note that you will be refunded for the payment you made to initiate the transfer, if it fails. The refund will appear on your credit card statement within 20 business days.

You can initiate a new transfer request.

      Hi,

I did not receive any emails to any of my email addresses that I have- all folders and accounts were checked numerous times as I was anxious for results. I would like to initiated the refund as of now please. Unfortunately Wix has proven to be unreliable, and I cannot afford this to occur.

      Thank you.

      Hi,

As you can see in this search I've conducted the registrant email address for the domain 'tinkacostumejewellery.com' is contact@myprivateregistration.com.

If this is not an email address you have access to, please contact your current domain hosting company, as the confirmation email is automatically sent there.

Regarding the transfer refund, as the transfer failed you will be automatically refunded for what you were charged. Please allow up to 20 business days from the failure date for the refund to settle in your account.

    Free domain

Hi - I just purchased a year's domain with you and then went on to buy a premium account with you as well. I didn't realise that that came with a year's free domain. Is it possible to get a refund on my original domain purchase, please?

    Many thanks
