You will be able to read the thread but you will not be able to post anything new.

Hey Everyone,

We at Wix take all performance issues very seriously.

Your site may be loading slowly for you due to many factors, including but not limited to:
- The speed of your own connection or an overload at your ISP during peak hours
- Amount of content on your site or home page
- Images not optimized properly for your site
- Many animations and animated behaviors or effects on your site
- Very large MP3 files that need to load
- A slower computer (i.e. with a slow processor or low RAM) may load the site slowly, since it cannot process the information quickly enough
etc..

Please make sure to optimize the images on your site and try not to overload your home page with too many animations, or several fonts and font colors. Too many animations and fonts/font colors will simply cause your user's processor to work harder- and although the user would have already downloaded the information to his/her computer, it may still take a little bit longer to display.

If you still experience an unacceptable speed issue and have done everything you can to optimize your site, we would like to request that  you please load the site using 3 test runs from www.webpagetest.org (an independent 3rd party site that will test the speed). If you are not satisfied with the results that you see from the site and it is indeed loading slowly, then please send us the link to the results and the link to your site.

We will investigate the results and your site- and if there is indeed an issue on our end, we will do our best to investigate it and fix it ASAP.

Site Slow despite upgrading bandwith what to do?

My site is running too slow, and I went through the following to solve it

First : I upgraded it to a new Premium Package for more bandwidth and the problem persist.

Second: read some of the comments You gave to others users, and I still don t get it. Basically I want to know where to start or what will be the fastest way to fix the issues since I'm looking to launch a new campaign and Cant go with a site like this.

Third: I run a WebPagertest  and to tell you the thrue I little understand the results other that there is some errors, I guess to much pictures and does it. I wonder how to start fixing since I took  me a lot of time to build the site, and last thing I though is that it will be running so slow, or that I will need to redesign it.

I m pasting some of the errors webpagetest found, maybe someone at wix, can tell me how do they refer to and what actions to take:

Compress Images: 78/100  I m getting a lot of Failed and error 200 what does it meant ?

i also want to chime in and say that I get so frustrated with my wix sites, as well. it takes (relatively) longer for my wix sites to load then other sites I go to that also seem pretty equal in the amount of photos, features, etc on my computer (latest macbook). I also have a pretty fast internet connection and don't have the same load delays on other sites. argh.

    My site is still slow

My site (drdelmillers.com) is still loading very slowly and I have a very fast computer. I know I do have a lot of content on my homepage / different fonts but is there anything else you could recommend? Is my youtube file too large?

I removed all of the transitions for each tab to quicken it but  besides that, maybe some pictures are too large? Please take a look because my old site was so much faster before I switched to wix.

    @nanc47,

I’ve noticed that you’ve embedded your site, dickwhittingtondiscounttickets.com. Wix does not offer support for websites which have been embed into external sites.
In order to receive proper support we ask you to correctly connect your domain to the Wix servers as this would guarantee the integrity of your site’s design and layout.

In addition, please bear in mind that Google Analytics and search engine crawlers can only work properly with your site when your domain is correctly connected to our servers.

This may also be the reason your website takes so long to load.

For more information on connecting your domain to your Wix site, check out our wixpedia page.

    My site is http://www.dickwhittingtondiscounttickets.com

We have over 1 minute for most people to see the site.

I took the test and Failed at First Byte and Cache... what do I or you need to do in order for this site to pull up within 5 seconds at most.

I have talked to my IT guy and he indicates that it is on your end, it is slow because of something on your servers are not pushing the information out fast enough.

Please let me know as we are loosing a ton of potential business for us, and many people who come to the site and see you logo, are loosing confidence in you.

I re-checked and It is taking my site over 1 minute to download... this is way too slow, people are leaving within 10 seconds... We are not getting the traffic we need to survive. I also did the test and it was worse at best.

    Our site is http://www.dickwhittingtondiscounttickets.com

First Byte F and cache static content F the rest are A's which is good... Please let me know why?

    @baerbyen

I've tested your site from Stockholm server and here are the results.

If you wish to further improve your site speed, use lesser fonts (a bold font and a regular font are considered as 2 fonts). Wix recommends no more than 2 fonts, which will not just improve your site's performance, but will also look more professional.

Also, using 'Frames' for images is nice, but it is another item to be loaded each visit.

    @ hand_lrry

Are you referring to the 'static cache' field in your test results? or did you received it on other fields?

Hi! Thank you for your replay. I've read the whole thread about speed. I've optimized all the file on the site. I've got ADSL conection and it takes about 5 or 6 seconds to load. I want that to happen in 2 sec. if that's possible as most of the sites around.

Can you please tell me if the unlimeted package is faster that the combo one or it doesn't make any difference? Is there anything else we can do to improve this?
