I am not sure I understand, are you referring to the HTML code? You can view it without upgrading but you cannot edit it, even after upgrading.

Wix doesn't support the option of exporting files created using Wix to an external destination / Hosts as well as changing the source codes. We host all your Wix creations on our servers.
You can find more information about hosting here .

You can connect your Wix site to your own domain! For information about how to do this, click here .

Can I edit the html code on the website. I don;t mean the html widget but the actual homepage code. Can I used a regular html editor and edit the code and save it back. My navigation is all broken and I need to make manual changes to the html code because the Beta version is adding tags to my pages.

I'm sorry to hear that and if I wanted to do a website in HTML, straight HTML I'd just open up my copy of Dreamweaver and settle for less. Unfortunately I don't have the time or patience to code everything in order to get my site where I want it. While I'm a pretty good digital designer, I've never had the patience to deal much with websites on the coding side. So in that sense, stuck between a rock and a hard place until I can find a more user friendly solution. If people were not so against Flash, I'd be done by now but noooo apple doesn't like it so naturally anyone with an ipad goes batty if they can't see a site pop up because they don't have the Flash plugin. *sigh*

Since the beginning I tried to convince Wix that it is very annoying for users to have all those limitations, but whitout succes.

So I decided to rewrite everything in pure HTMLcode (using kompozer) and so far everything goes very well. At the end of the year I'm going to say goodbye to Wix. They have a great tool but for some reason they just don't care about their own customers. All the remarks I made... nothing is changed for good, the opposite : the more I complained, the less features were comming true.

So I've been using wix for about three years now and on the Flash editor front, you guys did a fantastic job! I know that the HTML 5 editor is fairly new but come on guys really what is up with all the limits on it?  I am currently trying to endure the exhaustive process of setting up an event site for October using your HTML 5 editor but I am appalled by the lack of HTML friendly options found in basic HTML programming? How do we create tables? Rollover image (not text) effects?

How can you not have rollover options? If there are some that aren't BUTTONS, by all means point me in the right direction here?

Can you at least make a decent "paste in place" feature? You don't even have an "undo" option? One feature that would be infinitely helpful to us designers is a LOCK ITEM/POSITION feature like the Flash editor has. It is absolute torture only being able to select a few things and have to painstakingly move everything and try to keep things uniform when you want to say add more length to a page because you have no scroll bar options.

How about being able to create new text style options so we're not stuck using only a limited amount of specifically sized fonts and text sizes? Why is everything about style sheets? Some people want more range?

You mention that you frown on using scroll bars for text - so how then do you expect clients to get to the second page of say an article? Keep creating and linking to new pages? Do you really think that is productive or professional? Even the galleries don't have a "next page" option - why? Do you understand just how insanely frustrating it is to work with this program when we have to keep duplicating and adding pages that we could do in five minutes in Dreamweaver?

How can this editor have less function than say a Wordpress or Blogger editor?

You say you have a "team" working on this but I'm not seeing it. The latest updates I've seen thus far is an animated gallery option - who needs that when you don't have the basics down? I mean creating a TABLE for Pete's sake? I tried to copy/paste the HTML for a table from Dreamwevaver into your HTML "add" feature box and my text came in all black? How am I supposed to adjust that when it was WHITE in my HTML editor? What happened there? What's worse than that is it also generated scroll bars for some reason? Why?

I can forgive that this HTML program is in beta but I am quite frankly irritated that time is being spent on multiple language versions of an incomplete product? Please get these features in BEFORE expanding to foreign markets? It's just an inferior production line model at this point and I have been a very loyal and strong supporter of the wix brand - please don't let us paying clients down by delaying MUCH NEEDED functionality to this editor for our clients who insist they don't want to deal with Flash because their precious macs/apple products don't like to support it.

Also if you could make a SIMPLE link to updates for the editor to find instead of having to hunt all over the place for it  (maybe put it on the front page?) - that would be infinitely helpful as well. At 150+ a year, I expect less headaches - after all isn't that what the editor is supposed to be about? Less headaches and more flexibility? Please take my suggestions under strong consideration.

I'm not trying to be some ranting ungrateful soul here - I'm just a guy who wants to love wix and continue to recommend it to my friends who need websites in a flash.

    Thank you.
