How to Make a Music Website                                                                                                     

Every band needs a great website that expresses its unique flavor and gives fans a place to learn more.

Or perhaps you’re a classical orchestra with a refined, mature image, or a promoter looking for a sleek, impressive site. Find a template that speaks to you.

Editing Your Website

Turn a template into a website by clicking Edit and entering our online editor. To edit anything on your site, simply click on it and choose what you want to adjust. There’s no coding or any programming language to learn. Click Save to store your site and return anytime by logging in.

Change Color and Background

Once inside the Wix editor, you can immediately start making the website your own. Consider what color scheme you want. Is your site going to be colorful or black & white? Change the color of your background with a single click. You can choose from color swatches as well as patterns, gradients and even images as the background of your site.   

Add Your Own Music

Easily add music to your website. You can embed playlists with menus, and even music videos. Customize the skins to match the overall look you’re going for. Upload photos from the web or your computer. Display them in a flashy photo gallery, or as single, static images. There’s also a ton of royalty free images right inside Wix that you can add to your own site. Add separate galleries for shows, poster art, photo shoots and more.

Domains and Extras

Wix provides you with everything you need to get a fabulous music website up and running. If you want to have your own customized domain you can upgrade your website to premium. My intent is to create a facebook fan page using the Wix music templates.

is there a possibility to create the facebook fan page directly using the music templates?

or do i have to first create a website using the wix music template and then import it into a facebook fun page?

If the second possibility is my only option how do I import into a facebook fun page the wix music web site once it has been created?

Our Facebook feature requires the use of special templates when creating the site. You can read all about it through here.

Hi, I actually want to use this template you featured for a music page, it is the Mix Master template.  Every time I replace the photo on the main page (the one of the girl), it turns off the cool interactive design feature that is currently on the default template. 

 I've looked at the effects and settings menus etc, and cannot see anything added to make the image have the default animation.  What can I do to replace the image, but still have the current default effect.  The effect I am talking about is the scrolling photo followed by the tile effect that is applied to the main photo on the homepage.

The picture you are referring to is not a picture with an effect, as you have found out, it is a unique clipart, as one you can only use it as is. If you wish something similar perhaps you can create a .swf file animation.

Well, that really stinks.  Why would ya'll incorporate that into a 'template' if it's not a feature you can actually use and recreate?  I thought for sure it was just a combination of the effects offered.

I don't think those elements should be included in wix.com free "templates".

 That's partly why I chose that one.  I know a little flash, but I don't know how to recreate that effect or have the time to invest in it, and if I knew enough, I wouldn't be here using Wix, I'd just make my own entirely free website.

"Please be aware that you would not have the ability to create this exact feature even if you purchased a premium."   Isn't that even worse?  Why create something for Wix users that they can't edit or recreate in any way even if they have Premium?

I do have a Premium account, but isn't the point of the templates the ability to edit and change them?  I guess that's pretty much what I use Wix for, either to edit a template and add my own personalized content or start from scratch.  Of course it's easier from a template if there's one that is close to what you want.  

I understand it's not available and what you are saying, just stating the obvious that it's a little bit of false advertising as far as templates go.  

The template is old and presents a unique feature unavailable for change, it can be used as is or not at all. Please feel free to either add animations such as the one we discussed about, upload an swf file for something special and animated on your site or use a different template.

I'm a musician, and I'm trying to feature 5 or 6 different projects I'm involved in on my site (as well as a bio, contact information, and a calendar for upcoming gigs.)  I've created a "Projects" page, and I have a vision for it:

I would like a menu WITHIN the "Projects" page that lists each of my individual projects.  You could click on an individual tab of the menu, and recordings, photos, and a short blurb would pop up.  If you clicked on a different tab of the menu, different recordings, photos, and text would appear.

SO... is this possible?  How do I do this?  I've been working on trying to figure this out this all day.  Thanks for your help.

@mgmalis, To do this you will need to add a Page Group inside your "Projects" Page. On the first page of this new Page Group you can place your menu > then add one portfolio to each Page in the group.

To do this you will need to work in the regular editor. Please duplicate your site first to create a backup in case you encounter problems editing in the regular editor. 

Please open your Wix site in the editor (My Account >rollover click edit). Then click on "File" -> "Save As". Then you'll find two identical websites in your My Account, one with the new name and one with the old. 

Important: Please make sure that you uncheck the "List in Search Engines" box in "Settings" so your backup site won't appear in search engines. You can find more information here .

Now open your site in the editor > click the "Go to the Editor" button on the top left > now click Add >  Page Parts > Pages > add this to your Projects page and then add your content.
