Unfortunately it is not possible to transfer an object or a master-page from one site to another. You can still create the same master-page but this must be done manually, upload the same pictures and type int he same text, add components as need be.

What if I select a template and design my site & publish.  If 6 months down the road we want to revamp the site totally, can I go back to all of the templates and redesign the site? Or will I be forever stuck with the original template I first selected?

You will either have to change your site manually or choose a new template and start over.

After reading this I still don't know where to go to build another page to replace the one that uses my domain. I read on here that I must choose a "new document" but where is that done?

You can create a new a new site through our Create page, just click on a template or a blank template.

Once again, Publish Media Item was the problem to Wix's solution.  I have to do a redesign of my site, and I'm making some hard decisions about whether WIX is worth it any more. Lot of work to reuse the critical components from the old page, almost as much as just starting over with somebody else.

Hi there, I have a WIX template but want to change for another template can I amend or would I need a new template as I don't want my website to change.  If I start a new one and delete this one would the  site be available again?

If you would like to change your site to another template you will have to recreate your site starting from a new template OR you can change the style of your existing document by editing skins, color, etc.

I currently have one webpage hosted by wix and I used a template for most of it but edited it.  It is a premium account.  I know I need to create a new page to use a different account but it will not let me switch to this page with my premium account.  Am I just stuck manually changing pages now or do I have to cancel my premium then re add it to the new template?

I have accidentally embeded some text into my page, I cant remove it, I have tried,

I am also trying to change my template. I understand, by reading this thread, that I cannot switch my template; having to create a new one, however, how do I transfer my domain that I currently have to the new template, without interruption of my "premium" status/account info, etc.

You can transfer the premium, upgrade from one site to another, once the new site is upgraded it can also connect to your domain.

To move your premium status to another Wix document ,simply enter your "manage premium" system via "my account". You can find more information here .

After reading this thread I think I know the answer, but would just like to confirm:

I understand that if I switch to another template, I have to recreate the pages and content.  Does this apply to the store as well?   In other words, the store isnt different - its just another "object" or "master page"

I want to use a new layout called the "artist lair" i want to use that instead of my current one. I had it created and everything but it is telling me that my domain name is already taken which duh it is because its taken by me. how do i change my template to another? detailed steps please. my website is www.fiyasyte.com i just want to use a new template now.
