Is it also possible to add a 'follow me' button to your twitter, tumblr and facebook account?

    Hi vampnadine,

You serveral ways you can add twitter, tumblr, and facebook to your Wix site.

You can use "URL" Link option to link from your website to your general Facebook/MySpace/tumblr/twitter page. You can use the Facebook/MySpace icons in the editor's media library, or download any graphic you like to your account and simply lay the –URL link- on it. Click here for a video.

It is important to remember that visitors will only see your general page if they are not your friends or are not logged in to the same social network themselves.

You can also also add a Facebook widget and a Facebook like button. For more information click here .

Trying to update the timestamp on RSS feed. The account with Blog Spot is updated to the correct time but the RSS widget brings it in with a different time. Can this be changed?

    Thank you.

    Rachel,

The posts from the RSS feed are all being displayed at the correct time- as all the information is being pulled from the blog. The time zone (as indicated in your RSS feed) is +0000 (UTC+0) - I'm assuming you're at UTC-4hrs ?

Please check your settings in your blog for your posts and for the RSS feed.

    Thanks,

I do want RSS feed to my site, but a Slide Show. NO NO NO NO NO.................NO. I need to show a list of topics. This quanity of RSS topics should be controlled by me and not some limitation of the software. i have never seen a RSS reader be in a Slide Show format (lame) and I'm not going to start a trend by putting one on my site either.

I also think using this so-called RSS Carousel is something most would never use. IMO

Just a correction to my comment about RSS. I'm reffering to the RSS reader option and not a RSS feed from my site.  We should be able to adjust the number of topics shown, adjust the length of the articles and adjust some borders, colors, fonts etc.  My would be site is heavily RSS reader dependent. A Slide Show, waste of time.  NOBODY can see the topics and NOBODY is going to waste their time looking either. dumb, dumb dumb..........silly to even go through all that programing to make a RSS reader like nobody else uses.

Please note that RSS is an additional option at Wix, our main editing features and tools are on the editor, we fully support them. We recommend you to use our editor tools in order to design your site, not RSS.

If you do wish to use RSS on your site you are welcome to do so and find the instructions through here.

I'm trying to add an RSS feed of merchandise but do not have a URL in the format given by the video tutorial (i.e. http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheOfficialWixBlog?format=xml) what I was given was a URL that when I go to it gives me a directory listing of the XML files themselves that have the merchandise.  Is it possible to add it like in this form?

    Hi starkeyreggie,

Unfortunately, the only way to add the RSS feed is through the directions provided here. If you do not have the URL in the format instructed, you cannot add the RSS feed to your site.

If you wish, you can add an RSS feed from your blog to your site using our html widget. You can find all the information here .

    Please note:
    * Wix is a Flash platform and we offer support directly related to our product. By adding external HTML code you are adding products /code we have not created or tested.
Therefore our Support team cannot answer any questions concerning HTML.

However, there is another option. You can create your own blog on Wix which will be connected to your site.  For more information on creating a Wix Blog, click here.

    rss limitations

    Hi

I have watched the vidoe on linking an rss feed and I understand that you can't add one with http to start with, but the one you have as a default has the http and surely the sites I want have an rss feed from will all be http?

I want to be able to show live CAC prices on an rss feed, is it only for fb twitter and blogs?

    Thanks very much

How do I add a way for someone to subscribe to my blog, for example with Feedburner, to get emails delivered to their e-mailbox when a new posting appears on my blog?

At the top of your blog, you have an RSS link. You will have to introduce this to your followers and have them subscribe to your RSS feed using the link mentioned above.

I have been trying to add a RSS feed to my webpage from my WIX Blog.  I'm going to use this to post updated News/Announcements on my website.  I've looked at the video countless times and it doesn't seem relevant to my situation.  I can't seem to get a valid RSS feed URL.  I get: http://www.wix.com/dennis_hale/gokids/apps/blog/rss.  Nothing in the blog appeared or functioned like the video explained.  The link in the web page widget doesn't let me paste and when I manually typed the above link out it didn't work.  Also when I press the RSS Button in the Blog all I get is the HTML code.  Can you help me figure this out?

Which browser are you using? Please try using a browser other than Chrome in order to get the RSS page and link.

http://www.wix.com/dennis_hale/gokids/apps/blog/rss is your correct rss feed link. You need to plug it in whichever program you have chosen to use in order to read your feeds.

I have tried Firefox and Explorer 8, but the results have been the same.  I decided to ditch the WIX blog and use my WordPress blog.  My RSS link (XML) URL is:                                                  http://feeds.feedburner.com/Gokidsnews?format=xml .  When I plug this URL in to the RSS Widget on the webpage I get the following statement:

Oops! Cannot connect to the server. Please check your Internet connection and try again! If this problem persists, please contact Support with Error #23

I have tried copy and paste, and manual entry, I've also tried with and without the http from both browsers and nothing is changing.  How do I fix this?
