Currently there are three site viewing mode settings available to use when publishing your site: True Size, Best Fit and Fit to Width.

True Size
Setting your site to True Size means that your site's appearance will be a true reflection of the actual measurements that you have set in your Editor (width and height) – no matter what computer and browser your site's visitor is using. By default we recommend True Size, however, if your site is currently set to True Size and you feel that its appearance is too small or too big – you can either play around with the size settings or change the site scaling to Best Fit.
Please note that there is no magic default size as every user uses a different screen size and resolution. Today most internet users have a screen width of 1024. If you set width to more than 1000, users with lower resolutions will have to scroll to the right to see your full website.

Best Fit
Best Fit scales your website to fit your user’s screen.
Please note that there will be some differences in the look of the resized website. Text in particular may become too small to be readable with smaller screen and browser sizes and Browser Text may appear differently.
If you have viewed your site and it appears to be tiny, open your internet browser window to its fullest – if the website adapts itself to fit the browser window, then your site is set to Best Fit. We recommend using the True Size option as some viewers may not understand that making the browser window bigger will also make the site appear larger.

Fit to Width
Fit to Width scales your website to match the width of your user's browser window i.e. no horizontal scrolling will take place.
It is similar to Best Fit, except that instead of fitting all of the dimensions of your site to the browser, it only fits your site to the width of the browser. If your website is long, then a vertical scrollbar will appear.
Please note that there will be some differences in the look of the resized website. Text in particular may become too small to be readable with smaller screen and browser sizes and Browser Text may appear differently.

To change the viewing mode:
1) From your Editor, click Settings.
2) From Site Settings, click Appearance.
3) Under Viewing Mode, choose True Size, Best Fit or Fit to Width.

Same problem here. It should be possibility to set site content centered to the browser and even if You need to croll horizontally menu placed in the middle will be visible without scrolling, but...wix doesn't have such setting which is weird. It's not big deal. :( Maybe someday.

There is not an "Appearance" option to click under the "Settings" menu, from the Editor page.

      Hi,

Unfortunately it isn't possible to convert HTML5 sites to Flash.

If you'd like to create a Flash site you will have to start from scratch.

If you require any further assistance please let us know.

      Thanks,

      Hey,

It is still possible to create Flash sites. Please visit Wix -> Create -> Flash Templates at the bottom of the site. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate these instructions.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions.

      Thanks!

One more question, just confirming that in a flash website you will have the same screen size viewed from any kind of computer right?

And can I connect my domain to the new flash website?

      Best,

      Chabnam

These features are only possible with the Flash editor at this time.

You can find the wishlist thread for these features and add your request to it here.

Thanks Leah but would like to know if Wix have a timeline of when it will be possible to set viewing modes for HTML 5 sites. Best Fit, Fit to Width etc?? Thanks.

    Hi renownedfilms,

Currently, the width of your site is fixed at 980px. This size was chosen in order to accommodate the largest number of internet users that will be visiting your site. This is common for the new generation of sites, as it ensures compatibility with the many different smart devices being used today where you only scroll up or down. If you would like your site to be optimized for iPads & Tablets, you will need to stay within the width of 980 pixels.

We provide yellow dotted gridlines which show these borders when clicking on the gridlines icon at the top right of the editor.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Sincerely, Leah Wix Team

    @lanna777

Wix HTML5 websites cannot yet determine the site's viewing mode, it is automatically appearing in the viewing mode 'true size', which means that the site has the same screen size on every screen.

Please let us know what monitor and browser did you use and what exactly happened when you tried to open your site so that we can further investigate.

*Please include screen shots, if possible.

    Hello There,

Can you please let us know when this option will be available for HTML sites or if there is a workaround at the moment. One my big monitor screen my HTML site is unreadable and this is not ideal as I use this as my primary screen each day!
