    In the Domain Manager, you can add MX records, A records, CNAME records and TXT records.

    For more info about how to update these records, follow this link

    @Marilialuv, to update your MX Records, please follow the steps listed here .

    @hlaicliaisons, yes you can set all of this with Wix, however you need Hosting99 to provide you with the actual records. Once they tell you what the MX records are, you can follow the steps here to add these to your account.

    Hi. I can not find the page to change the MX records in my wix account. This is what I do:

    1. From my Domain Manager, under My Domains, I click my domain.

    2. Under Domain Summary, THERE IS NO "Change" button and THERE IS NO "Email (MX Records)", for me to click. So I can not change the MX records.

    Here's the screenshot: So how can I configure the MX Records to have my emails work again? I can send but can not receive emails with my regular email adress. (Which is hosted in hostgator.com)

    By the way, when I click the "change" button which is seen on the screen, I only see the "Connect Your Wix Site" pop up.  There is no email MX record configuration screen. How can I configure the MX records in Wix? I already had connected my domain host and they checked the configurations on their side and there's no problem fith my hosting provider setings. My emails still don't work. Please help me to solve the email problem. I checked every directions in your help section however couldn't find a solution. Can you configure it for me? I registered Wix with the same email and since I can not receive emails now, I will not receive the emails you send. This is a big problem for me. Please help me sort out my email problem.

    Uckun5,

    The reason you cannot configure your MX records in Wix is because you chose 'pointing' as your domain connection method.

    This means that you only pointed the A records for your site to Wix, but the rest of your DNS records are all hosted by your domain host.

    Please contact your domain host for assistance in updating any DNS records (such as MX records).

    Thanks,

    Thanks Etai, problem solved. I contacted my "domain host" for assistance, they updated the MX records etc but it didn't work. Then I contacted my "domain registrar" and they had to do some updates as well to make my emails work. I think they pointed the MX records to my domain hosting company's numbers. That's how problem solved. If same problem is experienced with some other users, I'd like to let them know that if their domain host can not solve the problem, they might need to contact their domain registrar as well to solve the problem ;)

    I am having all kinds of frustration with my email.  My domain www.creativdesign.com.au is connected without drama.  The website is working just fine.

    My problems started with I decided to add email hosting package to my domain.  When I first did this I was able to config to work with Outlook 2010 quite easily (perhaps too easy).  But then it just started giving error messages about wrong config.

    I contacted my domain manager and was told the problem was at the Wix end and they suggested I update the A and MX records in the DNS config. Ok that makes sense.

    I've followed the directions provided by Wix, but cannot get it to work.  The details provided by the domain manager are:

    A record: mail.creativdesign.com.au. --> 203.170.86.65

    MX record: creativdesign.com.au. --> mail.creativdesign.com.au

    So off I went to update this as per the wix instructions.  I managed to update the A record ok (although I wonder that there are three records but have only updated one)

    But I've now tried several times to update the MX record with no success.  The error message says

    An error has occurred
    mail.creativdesign.com.au
    Invalid email server

    Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong... before I slam my head through the wall LOL.

    @vjde65,

    The reason why you are having trouble with your MX records is because your domain name is not properly connected to our servers. Your A Records are not updated correctly (the current IP address is not Wix's). Wix's IP address is 216.139.213.144 .

    For step by step instructions on how to update your A Records correctly, click here

    Let us know if you have any other questions.

    You'll simply need to ask your email provider for the records needed to be added and then update them in the Domain Manager within your Wix account.

    You'll find all the steps here.

    @Yarden thanks, yeah eventually sorted out.  thanks for the info :-)

    Turns out when I thought I'd changed the record it hadn't saved... so I went off changing all kinds of things... and really just got into a huge confused mess.  LOL

    connecting e-mail doubts

    My email provider (from Brazil: www.hostnet.com.br) informed me the IP: 10.187.16.23.19 to put in the MX Record field.

    But, I get the error message: 'Invalid email server'

    What's wrong and what do I have to do?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    My domain name provider is telling me that in order to get my email working properly I have to get you to change my A record IP addresses to something they've provided me. If I do that won't my website stop working? They also gave me the MX records to update to after the A records are updated, but I don't want to do this until I know it won't take my website offline. Is there any kind of support line I can try calling to get this sorted out?

    Thanks,

    Paul
