The hashbang symbols (#!) in the URL are part of the deep linking mechanism and cannot be removed or altered.

This symbol is used for sites that utilize AJAX and is for better visibility within google.

It will be nice when this (#!) hashbang symbol is removable or able to edit.

    Hi  Jonathan D. Maraccini ,

As  Nicole Wix team  mentioned,  the hashbang symbols (#!) in the URL are part of the deep linking mechanism and cannot be removed or altered.

I had been adding a new page to my site, www.bryantpro.com and when I published to access the page I added, www.bryantpro.com/freeseal telescoper takeup, the hash bang symbol no longer appears as part of my web address. Has this feature been removed? When I deep link and type the url in, do I need to include it?

    Hey @Tlthimm,

Thank you for contacting Wix support.

No, there hasn't been any changes to our deep linking mechanism, www.bryantpro.com/freeseal is not a valid URL and points to an error page. If this is not the case for your site, please attach a screenshot of your site with the said address so we may look into the matter.

Thank you and we await your reply,

The url is www.bryantpro.com/freeseal-telescoper-takeups and it does pull up - screenshot attached.
I don't care either way, but when I created the page and went to it to get the address to create the deep link, it did not give me the hash bang symbol.

In addition - I had renamed 4 of my pages. Example, 'Telescoper' became 'Telescoper brand takeup' which I recreated the deep linking. The #!_ was not there when I renamed and navigated to the page to get the correct url. Will I see a difference in my search engine rankings because of this?

Pages and master pages behave differently when deep linking.

Please re-read the 'best reply' to better understand how your URL is created.

Remember, whenever you update your website (and make sure you save your file afterwards) your website needs to be crawled again by the search engine, such as Google,  before you can expect to see these changes reflected on search results.

It can take anywhere from 1 to 3 months for Google to update its database and for your site to be re-indexed with your updates.

To speed the process you can re- submit, if you haven’t already, your website directly to Google through here.

As well as adding at least 1 more quality ‘backlink’ to your website. Sites with only a few backlinks, or no backlinks at all, will not be crawled often, and it will take longer for Google to refresh its cache of these sites.  To keep track of how many backlinks you have go here.

That does not address my original issue. When I created the new page, screen shot above, the hash bang symbol was not added as it should have been. When I renamed a couple other pages, it removed the hash bang. Nir requested the screen shot to look into this - I do need to find out what the issue is because if the hash bang is required and it is not there, it may be causing a problem.

Is it actually causing any issues at this point? If so, please elaborate.
