Subdomains are used for connecting the same domain to resources on two different servers.
For example, you have a domain - www.yourdomain.com - pointed to your Wix website, however you also created a blog with a different service provider and wish to be able to use the same domain to link to that blog. To do this, you can create a subdomain - blog.yourdomain.com - and have that point to where your blog is hosted.
You can find all the information here .
If you meant deep linking, please follow this link .

Creating subdomainsI have a domain name purchased from justhost (martinlpfoto.com) and connected to the wix nameservers. Now I want to create a blog using a subdomain (blog.martinlpfoto.com) that i will do through justhost. Someone told me i have to purchase another domain to make a subdomain and create my blog - is this true?
Now, with Wix it says i can create an A record for the subdomain using an IP.
I'm kind of confused about adding an A record. I just don't want to proceed with this and have my website down. Please advise me on what to do, thanks!

Sub-domain accessPlease help or advise
My wix site is connected to my domain via pointing (only option according to my host). I still have access to my control panel from my original host and installed Moodle on a sub-domain (www.nextgenerationacademy/learn).
The problem:
When I go to this address however I get the message: "The page you tried to access does not exist on our server"
Clearly what I am trying is not working...
Question:
1.Can I still have access to this subdomain and the application installed in it?
2.If not, is there some other way that I might install this powerful educational tool (or another) on my website through wix?

Thank you for your help. (I learnt there's a difference between a sub-domain and sub-directory)
I have created a sub-domain quite easily from my control panel and installed the other CMS on this domain but when I view the site wix want me to connect this new domain to their site. (link: www.sciences.nextgenerationacademy.co.za)
I don't want to connect this sub-domain to wix but rather access the installed cms (MOODLE) which is on my original host's servers.

Please note that both of your sub domains:
sciences.nextgenerationacademy.co.za and www.sciences.nextgenerationacademy.co.za
are pointing to Wix, but www.sciences.nextgenerationacademy.co.za is the default one (it is recommended to switch between them in your Domain control panel)
About creating a new A record for hosting moodle:
create a new A record called moodle.sciences.nextgenerationacademy.co.za
and point it to your moodle host by it's IP address.

Hi ofglobal,
If at least one of your domains was purchased from Wix, you can connect two domain names (URLs) to your Wix site in the Wix Domain Manager by redirecting the domain name that was purchased from Wix to your primary domain.
If all of your domains are from other hosts, you can only connect one domain in the Wix domain manager, but you can redirect your other domains to the connected domain by contacting your host.
For detailed instructions on both of these methods, click here.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you'll need any further assistance!

Hi
Help
I need my MX record to be mail.ishi.com.au not ishi.com.au
mail.ishi.com.au also points to another server so I can have emails
I have a subdomain called mail.ishi.com.au but can't change the MX record to recognise this subdomain
Warm regards
Steve

Currently your MX record under "manage premium" is "mail.ishi.com.au" (like you asked it to be)
Are you still facing the problem?

I am having troubles with the sub domain juliechin.bobhurley.com. I changed the DNS setting to point to Wix and created a CNAME record with juliechin. and pointed it to url julie.interactive-md.com but all I see is Congrats for getting the apache server. Did I miss a step?

In order to provide you with the most accurate reply, please provide us with the following information:
1. What would you like the end result to be? What document do you want to connect each of your domain?
2. What are the steps you have already taken to achieve the above mentioned result?
3. What are the problems you encountered and when did you encounter them?
Once we this information we will further investigate.
Thank you and I await your reply,

Hello, I've tried to make my blog site inspiracje-jezykowe.blogspot.com my sud-domen blog.didactica.pl (premium account). I've read I should create a new CNAME Record, so I did it.
But every time I try to save new changes I got the message "An error has occurred. Invalid DNS configuration. Both Wix and non-Wix IP addresses specified".
Screen of the window below (points to host name: inspiracje-jezykowe.blogspot.com)
Error message:
Need help :)

Hi there,
The problem was you had two A records for the same sub domain, and it created this error. I've deleted the duplicate record and added the CNAME for you.
Thanks,

Hi wix team,
I'd like my mobile site to be m.luckwood.com.au but I get http://m.wix.com/sharonkittson/luckwood-organics instead when I publish my site.
Is there a way to make my mobile site domain name work?
Cheers

you simply need to add another A record "m.luckwood.com.au" and have it point to 216.139.213.144

Hi all!
I want to buy premium wix account. I have a question.
I have 2 websites. example.ru and btl.examle.ru (subdomain). But my primary website on btl.example.ru and it's known to search engines. Can I connect my subdomain with the same name, i mean btl.example.ru (not www.btl.example.ru)?
