Susan Cloutier is the owner and director of Studio for the Living Arts DanceCenter where she teaches jazz, tap, and creative movement classes. Susan specializes in teaching children and she has started many movement and dance programs for area preschools and public school departments including Freeport, Falmouth, and Songbird Creative Centers in Yarmouth and Cumberland Foreside. Susan has also taught preschool dance workshops at the Childrens Museum of Maine. In addition to Susan's extensive early childhood dance studies she also began the study of jazz dance in 1992 with Sheila Bellefleur at Casco Bay Movers.Susan continues to renew and update her teaching skills by regularly attending master class programs and teacher conferences. While attending dance conventions in Las Vegas, Boston, Minneapolis and New York, she has had the privilege to study under dance legends Joe Tremaine, Frank Hatchett, Joe Lanterni, Darryl Retter, Avi Miller, Ofer Ben, Jeannette Neill, and Rennie Gold. In addition to teaching dance, Susan has a strong belief in community service, and she wants her students to know that everyone can make a difference. The studios performing youth dance company "Pulse" participates in many charitable events for various causes. As the director of "Pulse" Susan founded and produced "Dance for Autism" an annual fundraising performance that raises funds for the Autism Society of Maine. The event is a collaboration of works presented by Studio for the Living Arts and hundreds of talent and giving dancers from surrounding studios in our local dance community. Susans passion and vision for the studio is as strong today as it was 18 years ago. She believes that the discipline, creativity and self-confidence that is involved in a student's dance experience, will have a lasting and positive effect on their lives.

Elizabeth Avantaggio: Ballet, lyrical and modern instructor , graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with a B.F.A. in Ballet performance where she received a 4-year promising artist scholarship. Originally from New Jersey, Elizabeth has trained at Joffrey Ballet, NYC, and performed with The Shore Ballet Company and Performing Arts Ensemble of NJ. Her ballet repertory includes, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Raymonda and original works by Andrew Pap and Matthew Neenan of Pennsylvania Ballet. Elizabeth has taught at Westchester Dance Academy, South Jersey Performing Arts Group and has choreographed for numerous High-schools and Middle-schools in the NJ/NY area. Currently Elizabeth is a company member of Portland Ballet where she has performed in Portland Dances! Capriccio, Dance for the Cure, Nutcracker, and Best of Broadway. Her local teaching credits include summer intensives for Atlantic Ballet Company and The Ballet school and numerous studios in Southern and Mid-coast Maine.

Beth Gaudet teaches creative movement, tap, ballet, and musical theater classes. She received her dance training in Maine throughout her childhood years and continued to study dance and theater classes while attending the University of Vermont. Since that time she has received her certification as a childhood dance educator through "Little Peoples" and she has also been fortunate to study with many renowned professional teachers such as Avi Miller, Ofer Ben, Debbi Dee, Lainie Munro, and Darryl Retter to name a few. Beth is also the director of our Pulse Dance Company tap repertoire, and her distinctive and creative choreography has received Gold Medal standings at dance competitions. In her spare time, Beth teaches piano and also participates in, and choreographs for local theater productions. Her theater credits include "Sound of Music", "Grease", "A Little Princess", and "Annie". Experience, unlimited patience, and a sincere love of teaching commits Beth to producing high quality instruction for a variety of ages. Beth is the owner/director of Center Stage Performing Arts in Raymond.

Victoria Perreault received most of her professional training in Los Angeles on a Tremaine National Scholarship & in the San Francisco area with some of the most talented choreographers and educators. She has been a guest judge for Dance Masters Nationals in San Jose, CA. Victoria also filmed a commercial with Star Wars George Lucas, performed for Tom Hanks, and danced on the TV pilot More than Entertainment. In California, Viki wrote & directed LAmour Du Mal (an original play told through dance) for Visual Rhythm Dance Company. For years, she was guest jazz & hip hop instructor at San Jose State University, as well as a teacher for several amazing studios which included student Nick Lazzarini who emerged as the winner of SYTYCDs first season. Some of her former students have gone on to Broadway & successful careers in dance. Upon returning to her native State of Maine, Viki received awards & accolades for her choreographies, scholarships to Millenium Dance Complex in L.A., and filmed a television commercial with Blake McGrath of SYTYCD. The pinnacle of her career occurred January 2007 when Mia Michaels honored Viki with a BDC scholarship. Victoria loves to teach with enthusiasm & her choreographies are known for their originality.

Tina Rae KellyStarting dance training at the age of three, Tina Rae Kelly has thirty years of dance experience with thirteen years of those years focused on professional performance and dance education. Ms. Kelly has achieved the highest levels of success in all aspects of her profession. Not only has Ms. Kelly shared the stage with Patti Labelle, Savion Glover, and Gregory Hines, but she has also danced and choreographed for the NFL Baltimore Ravens cheerleader squad. As a dance teacher and coach, Ms. Kellys choreography has earned national recognition at numerous dance competitions. Her students have gone on to dance with P. Diddy and Ludacris; in Step Up 2; the Washington Ballet and the traveling company of Cats; in Los Angeles premiere dance festivalCarnivale; at Busch Gardens and Walt Disney World; and at conservatories, highly competitive college dance programs, and Division 1 college dance teams. Ms. Kellys students are regularly awarded internships and assistant positions with national tours and at dance studios in New York and Los Angeles. Ms. Kelly keeps her creativity on the cutting edge by constantly training in Boston and New York City. As a dance educator, she inspires each of her dancers with her can-do attitude, challenging them to achieve their personal best.

Bethany Field fell in love with dance at the age of three. This bloomed into a lifelong quest to explore innovative movement, the human body and inspired creative expression. She studied with Elizabeth Hansen in Auburn, ME, joined Portland Ballet's CORPS program in 2000, and trained at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD, where she also earned her B.A. in Psychology. Bethany has also attended various summer programs including The South Carolina Summer Dance Conservatory, The Joffrey Ballet Training Intensive and Bates Dance Festival. In 2000, Bethany received a full Scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Training Program which she attended in NY City. Bethany is a performing member of the Collective Motion Dance Company and she enjoys sharing her love of dance through teaching. Bethany has teaching experience in modern ,ballet, and lyrical for all ages and abilities.

Amanda Preble is a hip hop instructor who has been influenced by her experiences with the college competition and crew scenes throughout the Northeast. She graduated from Quinnipiac University in the spring of 2009 with her BA in Communications. At Quinnipiac she was a choreographer and captain of Dance Fusion, which is a competitive hip hop team. Since being back in Maine, Amanda has been dancing for the Maine Red Claws Basketball Team. Throughout the years Amanda has trained with Michelle Stuckey, Bruce Tracey and Victoria Perreault at Casco Bay Movers. While not dancing, Amanda is a promoter for Citadel Broadcasting in Portland, Maine and she is also an avid skiier and runner.

Stefanie Russell began her journey as a dancer when the studio opened in 1992. She was a member of the studio's competition dance team "Full-FX" from 1993-1999 training in jazz, hip-hop, and ballet. As a dance competitor, Stefanie received many regional and national dance awards and titles from annual dance conventions and competitions with Tremaine, NYC Dance Alliance, DanceMasters, American Dance Awards, Rhee Gold, and Dance Olympus. Over the past 20 years she has attended numerous dance workshops and conventions in Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Boston, and New York where she received master instruction under the direction of world-renowned dancers, such as Frank Hatchett, Joe Lanteri, Joe Tremaine, and Doug Caldwell. Stefanie continues her dance education at Broadway Dance Center in NYC where she has taken classes from Bev Brown, Fleciano, Chio, and Susan Samuels.Since graduating high school in 2000 she has also enjoyed working with children as a full time private nanny. Stefanie has the patience and devotion to help children learn and love dance. The combination of her extensive dance training and childcare experience make her an asset to our faculty.

Laura Abraham is a Certified Childhood Movement Specialist and she instructs dance to young children on site at childcare centers and preschools. Laura offers creative movement classes for the studio at the Songbird Creative Center located in Yarmouth.Laura is also a certified Kinderdance and Kindergym dance educator and franchisee and she teaches these programs at various locations throughout Cumberland County. In her spare time Laura performs as a member of the Royal River Chorus .

STUDENT TEACHERS 2011-12: Elizabeth Audet and Lily Sands ( student teachers for Elizabeth Avantaggio) , Kelsey Bailey (student teacher for TinaRae Kelly). Our student teachers possess over ten years of dance training and they are all advanced members of our performing dance company "Pulse". Student teachers assist the faculty on a regular basis and occasionally substitute classes when needed. CLASS DEMONSTRATORS 2011-12: Haley Cadran, Jenna Demers, Zoe Fluet, and Kendra Elder. These dancers have the technical training and experience to assist the instructor by demonstrating at the front of the class and assisting with the basic classroom activities. Many class demonstrators become Student Teachers at the age of 15.
