Stour Valley Harness Club
We are a small and friendly harness club based in East Kent, near Sandwich, with an excellent calendar of training, friendly competitions, group drives and social events. Some of us have our own horses, ponies or donkeys, but we welcome all driving enthusiasts. You don't need an expensive carriage either!
Throughout the summer there is a regular calendar of events, all for fun, none too serious,
but winter doesn't stop play.
The only thing we take seriously is safety, which is always a priority. Drivers are initially assessed by the club before joining in, as required by the BHDTA.
Why not join us? We are always happy to welcome volunteer help too - there is plenty to do behind the scenes!

For Sale....
Zebedee "Mennai Superdando" 14.1hh Welsh Cob, 8 years old, passported and vaccinated, Registered with Welsh Horse and Pony Society. Professionally backed, travels well in lorry, very sweet natured. Done lots of local in-hand showing, and been very sucessful, sadly too small for me. Due to lack of time he had been turned away, but is now coming back into work and showing what a star he is. Ideal project for someone to bring on, needs patience and consistency, but super showing prospect with fabulous paces and a lovely jump. Sensible offers considered. Can deliver. August 2009
Hello Everyone,
We had a very enjoyable dog show on Saturday at Greenacres. Dogs of all shapes and sizes, narrow and wide, Jennifer's whippet being narrow and Claire's staffie (a real solid dog built like a tank) being wide. Little and large, Jennifer's poopar ( a poodle cross parson jack russell) as the little and Emma's sister's GSD was the large. They were all very well behaved and everyone had a great time.
We will be getting together again on Saturday 8th August for the BBQ at about 6:00ish. From about 3:00, we will be setting up the fields for the fun day, (Sunday 9th) so if you want to help you will be most welcome. Could you phone Ann in the week before if you are coming to the Fun Day, it helps if we have an idea of numbers.
The cones evenings have been a bit hit and miss this summer. The weather has caused problems and the numbers taking part have been low, but we have got one more cones evening to look forward to, and that is on Wednesday the 12th of August, hope you can make it.
Back in May, Ian organised a training day with Sara Howe, at Cottington. As a spectator, I found it very interesting to watch, I think it was probably a little nerve-wracking to actually be doing the driving. Well done to all that took part, and well done to Ian for putting it all together.
Look forward to seeing you all at the BBQ,
Best wishes,
Rita.
