Behind The Lens: Kevin Stiles
With a background in fine arts, he was an art teacher for many years. Kevin utilizes the human form in his surrealist paintings. Initially, photography was the medium he needed as reference for his artwork.
Now photography has started to take center stage.
Kevin is also a tattoo artist.
About the Artist: Nina Pak
Worked as the curator for the Glendale Arts Council for many years. Was the design editor for AustralAsia magazine in Moscow Russia. Now working with digital photography, and Alt process printing and publication.
Her focus was in Photography and design work over recent years. She is also a painter, using mixed-media with photographic elements.
About this collaboration:
This collection came about when Kevin Stiles and Nina Pak became acquainted on-line, at a Photography website. Kevin at the time was taking nude images of models for reference material.
Nina was shooting many models across the west coast, but those who contacted her from the east
were not accessible. So the collaboration was born. Kevin took the photos of various models who
contacted them, and sent the raw images to Nina for editing. Two years later the two artists have developed a friendship. Each has grown with the experience and a large body of art has been created.
The artists have never met in person.
